Is KAT the best player on the Knicks

Preface this with I do not follow the knicks at all. The only games of theres I watched was when I was hatewatching the spurs in finals. At that time Brunson was great obviously. But so far this season KAT has outplayedw him every game (According to box score I havent watched). So for knicks fans or whoever. Is Brunson just like a super playoff riser or is he just off right now?

Has Giannis fully moved into the unlikable category?

He won a championship in Milwaukee and wanted to build there, and gained a lot of credibility doing it in a small market. But then pressuring the front office to make trades that depleted assets, and then forced his way to Miami leaving Milwaukee in a tough situation.

But that’s just the basketball part, I have been inundated with Kalshi ads on Twitter, on TV, on Reddit. Making money being the head of prediction market on top of his $60 mil/year salary convincing people to bet their money is a really bad look.

Why so interested in starting 5

Mostly the title:

Mazzulla pointed this out a couple of weeks ago: fans and players like to obsess over the starting 5 and who deserves a spot etc. it seems like the common wisdom is to always start your best 5 no matter what. That makes zero sense to me.

Wouldn’t it be better to spread your firepower out? If your top 5 are offensively skilled, they can’t all shoot in those minutes. Playing them all together seems like it would diminish their impact.

Whichever players get to play against the opposing bench should have the opportunity to torch them. I’d take that deal as a player.

I feel like I’d just be focused on trying to get my top performers quality minutes with little regard for what time of the game those minutes occur.

Reggie Miller has to be taken off air

I can’t believe a player with so much sauve and on court IQ could have such horrendous takes. I couldn’t believe my ears hearing him glaze Scott Foster and talk about there is not defense anymore. When the refs are calling everything and both teams are hot that is what happens. He just brings an old head mentality that is not needed. let them play ball and appreciate it

Eliminating Back to Backs

• Upvotes

Given the recent slew of big injuries, it feels like one thing that would help would be eliminating back-to-back games. You could accomplish by extending the season (no preseason, start in early October and end in July). But that feels kinda bad for the players and cuts their offseason. In an ideal world, you could keep the current season timeframe and eliminate about 20 games.

I know, I know the league would never cut that much revenue. But just entertain it for a second. Once you expand, you could have 32 teams and play each of the 31 other teams twice for a 62 game regular season. You could guarantee a night off for every team after a game and still fit it in a window.

Games would be more important and teams would always be fresher and hopefully healthier. And home games could catch a premium. Your team would only host Jokic or Ant or Shai or Luka once a year. It would be a much better product. Maybe enough to raise more revenue from higher ticket sales and more tv revenue?

I wish it was possible.

What is the timeline of the NBA's recent increasingly close connections to gambling?

I'm trying to understand what the timeline is in one coherent place. I know Silver said in 2014 that he wants the NBA to be connected to help regulate it, at some point then the NBA gave the official OK to it and announcers talking about lines/spreads/parlays, everything in the NBA started being sponsored by DraftKings and all them, late-2025 some players started getting arrested or accused (by fans) of intentionally manipulating things, 2026 a couple superstars announced connections to prediction markets very shortly after changing locations (which there was millions spent in predictions markets about - namely Giannis and then LeBron), and very recently NBA stating connection to prediction markets.

This is a mess of what I sorta remember, but I'm curious if it can be stated in a straight-forward timeline. I don't want the specifics of what happened to be totally lost in another few years when things are even worse.

Could Wemby have gotten that ball with his fingers?

Wemby standing reach: 9’7 (maybe half an inch or inch higher since I believe he has grown since rookie?)

Vertical: websites tell me 32 inches which feels reasonable, he didn’t take place in combine though

That gives him an estimated 12 foot 3 max touch, enough to poke the ball sitting on top of the backboard.

Why does Wemby want to be so lazy and use a broom?

He misses a 28 footer from 3 in OT, he misses another 3 with 1:05 left, he misses another 3 with 45 seconds left, blows a open layup with 5 seconds left, and decides to shoot a layup up 1 instead of holding it then missing

[Haberstroh] ESPN, The Ringer and CBS Sports all left Ty Jerome off their Top 100. Advanced metrics, though, saw him as a *Top 10* player. The most underrated player in the NBA? Ty Jerome makes a strong case

https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/the-most-underrated-player-in-the-nba-ty-jerome-makes-a-strong-case-in-memphis-142245068.html

“Ahead of the season — before the NBA announced Jerome as the Western Conference Player of the Week — Estimated Plus-Minuspegged the 29-year-old as the ninth-best offensive player in the league. DARKO was bullish too, ranking him 14th, ahead of future Hall of Famers like Durant and Antetokounmpo. This, despite Jerome not even ranking in the Top 100 lists for ESPN, The Ringer and CBS Sports. Surely, the calculators were glitching, right?

And then the season started. In Memphis' dominant opening night win over the Utah Jazz, Jerome scored 45 points, the most the franchise had ever seen in a season opener — a performance so captivating that he generated M-V-P chants from the FedEx Forum faithful.

Meet the most underrated player in the NBA who is leading the 4-0 Grizzlies and simultaneously pressure-testing the predictive value of all-in-one metrics.”

Some other interesting things in the article - he has hit 29 floaters so far this season, nobody else has hit 20, and there is no evidence that he can dunk a basketball.
