Is it me or is anyone else tired of all these talks about the JT / JB beef and everyone keeps mentioning JB being the best 2-Way player in the league or arguably the best when Tatum was literally the better 2 way player the whole time ?

Idk who in the media pushed this narrative or if it was JB pushing this until people eventually believed it but it always rubbed me the wrong way.

Tatum is the better offensive player. He can score on all 3 levels and is a superior playmaker . He’s an offensive engine . I think the gap is decent margin

And defensively brown is a on ball defender and Tatum is an off ball defender but even then raw stats and advanced stats lean towards Tatum being the better defensive player too .

Meanwhile when everyone starts talking about the best 2 way guys it’s like Tatum gets skipped over for Brown or Kawhi etc. I appreciate what brown did for us and I’ll never discredit him but it’s just appalling how much you can literally create a narrative out of thin air .

It's only 4 games, but it's worth pointing out that Paul George in those games is averaging 22.3 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 steals with 47%/43.8%/86.7% shooting on 16.5fga per game.

That's very similar to his stats a few years ago in LA where he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals with 47.1%/41.3%/90.7% shooting on 16.7 fga per game.

Obviously he's injury prone and could hit an old man slump, but in his injury plagued two season on Philly his role was reduced and he was only taking 13.9fga per game.

In the meantime, while healthy he seems to do exactly what the Celtics need him to do next to Tatum. Excellent defense. Really smart vet with great awareness making the correct plays and hitting shots efficiently. Hope he can miraculously stay healthy.

After his walk-off jumper fell through the net Tuesday night, Jayson Tatum chest bumped several teammates rushing in his direction and threw his right index finger into the air. This buzzer-beater, which allowed the Boston Celtics to hold off the Brooklyn Nets 125-124 in overtime, felt different from each of his previous ones.

“That was a hell of a feeling, just kind of getting back to doing things that I used to do before I was injured,” Tatum said. “And sharing that moment with my teammates on the court, seeing them rally and be excited for me.”
