We saw another step in growth this preseason and even to begin the year in the first few games.

But he hasn’t had that signature moment or game yet this season that catapults a player from hopeful to realized potential.

Averaging 12.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game off the bench to start is certainly promising and beyond acceptable, I look for that singular moment, that seminal shot or play that boosts him to a name recognition kind of player.

I think it may come over the course of this short stint in Toronto.

Franz, sans 4th quarter heroics against New York, hasn’t been himself to start the season.

I’m not one of those “fans“ who practically celebrates the injury of Banchero because they believe that Franz is better than P5, or that even sillier, they should trade one because they don’t mesh well with one another.

But if Franz didn’t get hurt last year he almost certainly was headed for an all star selection.

I truly believe that once the rust from having a true offseason (he neglected to play for Germany this summer), he is going to display some serious name recognition amongst the talking heads in the next few months.

With AB poised to have an entire season to piece together the flashes of brilliance he had to start last year before slightly returning to earth, the pair of them promise some real fireworks. Once Bane finds his rhythm (remember he started last season slow) and allows the floor to stretch out a bit, Franz can get back to what he does best- slicing up interior defense with the precision of a surgeon.

We’re injured, sure. But we’re going to find that groove that found the league noticing Franz all over again, sooner than you might think.

The fact that he missed the entire preseason and then the first two games for an ankle injury, and now he's showing up on the injury report as questionable for personal reasons, is a little concerning. I can't help but wonder if his contract situation is playing into his availability right now. Does anyone else have any idea what the personal reasons could be?

Update: Jason Beede mentioned on X that AB missed shoot around but should be with the team for the game.

When should we be worried about those 2? They are playing 13.3 and 15.3 mpg so far and both have really struggled. Hopefully they get going it just sucks knowing more talented FA are available for minimum but we are relying on unproven players for depth.

Bruce Brown Jr would be a nice wing addition

Vince Williams Jr would give us a defensive PG who can pass

KPJ just averaged 17 and 6 he would be a nice addition and upgrade over Jase

Ochai Agbaji a defensive wing

Cam Thomas a bench scorer

Cam Payne a vet solid backup PG

Went to the Timberwolves game Friday around the tunnel hoping to get some stuff signed by players and I got there before the game started and I wasn’t allowed to be a couple rows down. Fast forward to it being over and a blowout in the 4th you couldn’t even move down a couple rows to the empty seats where rows were damn near empty. The security people were just in the stairs watching if anyone moved where they didn’t belong and asking to see tickets, they wouldn’t even give people time to take a photo standing up. I’ve been to many sporting events wether it’s football or basketball in different arenas and I’ve never seen something like this. I was standing on my seat after the game and I was asked by them to leave but it’s the seat I bought and I’m not being disruptive, I was ordering my uber. Is it always like this? Or is it something new they’re doing for player safety?

I’ve been a fan for 23 years and I live in Maine. Somehow I have never met another Magic fan here. Are there any? Am I alone up here? Haha

I feel like we should try to get an organic watch party going between now and maybe the new year at some time. Nothing spectacular.

We all chat, pick a game, pick a spot, and show up. No sponsors, no big deal just one day with plenty of advance to get enough people to jump on board.

I’m a lifelong ORL resident and am fine with anywhere. Downtown is kinda bogus and the city really killed the scene down there.

I haven’t been to Tom’s, I usually just go to an alehouse, which honestly would t be a bad idea because we could just invade their high top section and it’s easy to stay standing and roam around to talk and hang out

I live in Debary now and the Seminole Towne Center one is perfect, I’m also open to Altamonte Mall or even the ones down by the attractions.

It doesn’t even have to be at an alehouse, just an idea.

I’d LOVE to get a bunch of people to hop on board and make this a super casual, good time to just shoot the shit and watch the Magic to get out there and forget about our jobs for a few hours, haha.

So we all saw the non contact injury that happened to Suggs. My assumption is, it won’t be an ACL tear. But I believe that it most likely will be a hyperextended knee. My only thing is that it could be a mild or grade 2 hyperextension. Mild is 2-4 weeks. Grade 2 is a partial tear which would mean 4-8 weeks. My hope is that it will only be mild. But this is a huge blow to our defense. Rough Start but got the W tonight vs NY!!!! PLAY THE SONG!!!!!!
