My university gave me a grant to buy a laptop with, and I have to provide them with an invoice showing that I have paid.
I've been trying to get through to customer support for this for a few days but humans on the phone either provide me with the standard "unpaid" invoice that you can already get from the orders page, or they don't understand the question.
The "Leo" chat bot says that customer support can help me with this issue and generate a paid invoice, but I can't initiate conversations on the websites built in live chat because of my order starting with "K", and not being recognized as a real order because of it, which seems to be something mentioned on this subreddit a few times by others.
Any advice? I'd rather not have to return this one and go somewhere else. I'm loving the French Canadian keyboard on it for my schooling.

Hey everyone,
I'm considering buying the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 16IMH9 with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB VRAM
RAM: 16GB LPDDR5x
Storage: 512GB SSD
Display: 16" 2K OLED
My Main Use Cases:
Short-form video editing (Reels/TikTok/Shorts in 1080p and light 4K) using Premiere Pro & CapCut.
Daily college commuting and productivity.
My Questions for Owners/Users:
How is the thermals and fan noise during video rendering/exporting?
What is the real-world battery life on light tasks (web browsing/docs) with the 2K OLED screen?
Is the weight and 16" form factor manageable for daily backpack carry at university?
Any known issues with the OLED panel or overall build quality/hinges over time?
Thanks in advance!
Seems like Lenovo does not allow you to extend warranty past the end of 5 years. Anyone know what my options are? I do not want to buy a new laptop as this one has been fine (other than the one onsite replacement of the motherboard)

The only apps being used were snapseed and brave (which was just open in the background). From 80% (set charge) to 27% in less than two hours, seems like a bit much for just photo editing.
Before purchasing the tablet I was using my phone(Oppo Find X9), same app, smaller battery capacity, and I've been able to edit photos and listen to YouTube in the background with Bluetooth headphones for way longer than this.
Can't tell if my units faulty or if theres an optimisation issue. I only purchased it a week ago.

So I bought a second hand Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 laptop (model 21AK0001UK) this week and have installed Win 11 Pro on it etc - but the battery life seems to be very poor?
There is the Nvidia graphics card in it but the battery life seems to just drain, which is not something that I was either expecting or used to, from previous Lenovo thinkpads.
The battery is 100% (brand new and official) so that's not the issue - can I ask a few qns:
1) How long does optimisation take, to kick in, e.g. installing everything, indexing all my files?
2) What progrms do you recommend to measure battery life so I can accurately measure what the actual life is like?
3) Any tips/throttles I can use as most of the time I'm just in Windows doing admin style tasks
4) I am aware that hte graphics card uses a lot of power when running, so if i play games I would be plugged in to use it.
5) Anyhing I'm overlooking?
Thanks so much fo reading this and taking the time to respond.
i got the wrong name and phone number on the invoice of my thinkpad bill. what do i do???? please help im stressed out right now

So I almost ripped my hair out over this issue:
For context let me share my super frustrating issue I just dealt with on my Lenovo Legion (specifically the 15ARP8 AMD model, but this probably applies to other ones too).
For a while, my back USB-A ports were acting completely possessed. It started with the Always-On USB port completely refusing to detect my wired keyboard. It still pushed power to it, but data was dead. Then, about 6 months later, the normal USB port right next to it started doing the exact same thing to my gaming mouse (a Logitech G502 X). I originally thought my always on port just fried itself, and after some minor fixes I tried (that didnt permanently work btw) I deemed that port as lost and just moved on.
Now that I was suddenly down 2 USB ports, I decided to investigate further.
Here was the weirdest part: if I plugged in a random USB flash drive, it worked perfectly and transferred data fine. But mice and keyboards? Completely ignored. Or the ports would work fine when I booted up in the morning, but the second the laptop went to sleep or restarted, the peripherals would instantly die.
I spent the last 5 hours troubleshooting, at some point I thought I completely bricked my USB ports, but lets talk about
On AMD Legions, the back physical USB ports are wired to completely separate hardware controllers. The Always-On port shares a root lane with your Integrated Camera, while the normal ports share a lane with your MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter.
Windows aggressively tries to put these individual AMD controllers to sleep to save power. Because the Bluetooth and Camera are hogging the connection, the AMD controllers get stuck in a low-power suspension bug when waking up. They can process high-speed flash drives, but they fail to reactivate the micro-polling data rates that gaming mice and keyboards need to function.
On top of that, if you have hidden driver conflicts (like old Apple Mobile Device drivers or legacy registry ghosts), they completely lock up the USB tree, causing massive endpoint stalls and virtual ghost clones that swallow hardware signals.
(at least its working for me now)
If you're dealing with this, follow these steps in order. Leave your mouse and keyboard unplugged while you do this.
Step 1: Stop Windows from putting the USB Controllers to sleep
Step 2: Nuke the conflicting drivers & Ghost Clones
While still in that Devices by connection view:
Step 3: Turn off Always-On USB & Power Flush via BIOS
The only issue I run into now, is that my mouse does not want to work in the first Always on USB port, the keyboard works fine in both ports. I am not sure what causes this or how to fix it. Perhaps a complete reset of my laptop could fix it, but I am honestly too lazy to do that. I will leave it as is, and hope it doesnt break again. I did try to fix the mouse issue but ended up bricking my USB ports completely, I had to rollback to a previous version, which luckily was just before I bricked my ports. SO maybe a friendly advice if it does start semi working again for you, consider making a rollback safe point. That way you dont accidentally brick everything like I did while testing around more. I was lucky to have that save without knowing!

where is the hard drive in this T480? it looks totally different than my previous T480.
First, the specs:
Intel Core 7, 240H Processor (E-cores up to 4.00 GHz P-cores up to 5.20 GHz)
Windows 11 Pro 64
Integrated Intel Graphics
16 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM) (Samsung M425R2GA3EB0-CWMOL)
512 GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 QLC (Micron MTFDKCD512QGN-1BN1AABLA)
Battery 3 Cell Rechargeable Li-ion 48 Wh
1080P FHD IR Hybrid with Dual Microphone and Privacy Shutter camera
Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 2x2 AX & Bluetooth 5.3
16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, 120Hz display
Backlit keyboard, Luna Grey - English (US)
Color Arctic Grey
Warranty One Year Onsite
Fingerprint Reader
After a few days my thoughts and impressions:
This nearly all plastic build feels surprisingly light, but also a bit flimsy at times. The aluminum top cover of the display feels good with minimal flexing/warping/twisting, but the too-plasticky keyboard deck and bottom cover tactile feel is not great and has more flex than expected, especially along the keyboard. The all-metal version China can order would be a great improvement here. The keyboard feel and legibility however are excellent - quiet but firm without key rattle of other annoying attributes with great backlighting. Lenovo really gets this right and I missed this experience a lot.
The precision touchpad is adequate, login by Windows hello facial recognition works fine as does the fingerprint reader located on the power button. The 400 nit, 120 Hz display is nice after some serious tweaking with no notable physical flaws, but color cast is still a work in progress. Blacks are good but getting contrast the way I like it has been challenging. Don't know if any of this is due to the non-glare coating but I wish I could dial it in better. Maybe some form of Gama control download would help? Cleartype has been adjusted FWIW. Bounce when using the touchscreen on a hard surface is noticeable and kinda annoying TBH.
I really can't judge it's true power as I am no power user but nothing leads me to think it could not be up to some serious work aside from serious gaming while plugged in. I do think having just one memory slot filled diminishes performance since it is only 16 GB in a single channel. If set to max performance the single fan can get very loud just browsing the internet and playing a YT video in the background. I know it is running other hidden processes; just the same I am really surprised just how loud the fan can be and how much heat is being expelled at the front of the the unit doing very little. Lowering performance parameters helped stop this, and I am now running the unit in the Vantage programs "Adaptive" setting. Not sure how this plays with or overrides native settings made in W11 such as "Balanced", "Performance", "Best power efficiency" modes within the W11 settings menu.
A huge reason I bought this laptop is because it has so much potential to upgrade RAM, storage and WI-FI. All of these can be replaced / upgraded and there is even an extra empty SSD slot. Also like the large port selection to include a full-sized SD slot. The SD slot does not allow the card to be fully seated, with the card protruding by about 17mm. A huge issue that may be a deal breaker for me is the units terrible battery life. I know others have asked about battery life concerning this laptop so here are the numbers I got: The small 48WH battery combined with the CPUs 45W TDU are really bumming me out concerning longevity. When parameters are set to high-performance, having a YT video playing in the background while surfing Reddit only gets 1.5 hours to 20% battery life. It feels shocking seeing how fast the battery charge drops. Same conditions with all settings at maximum efficiency resulted in two hours and forty minutes until 20% battery capacity was reached. I figured way better than this would be the result.
This to me is terrible as the screen was just above usable, performance did feel constrained and this with a brand new battery - With normal degradation these numbers will fall away pretty hard not so far in the future, and then I could try a 71 WH battery but even then battery life will not be what I would like. I am at the point now that I feel I may return the unit and try another flavor with a more efficient chip (Be it Intel or AMD) and get a unit with a better build quality and feel, especially for the $1500 asking price (I did not pay this) a few weeks ago. Going from a budget HP ENVY x360 with an all aluminum build to this feels like a serious downgrade, not to mention the terrible battery performance, esp again for the price. Thanks for reading my post; hope you find it helpful with any potential selection and I'd be curious to hear from other owners if their experiences mirror mine.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 running Windows 11 Home. After installing TranslucentTB, my desktop wallpaper turned black while the taskbar remained transparent. I uninstalled the app, but the wallpaper is still black.
How can I fix this without resetting my PC

Just upgraded my chromebook to a Lenovo 14M9610 14in MediaTek 16GB 256GB. Nice piece of kit.
Got my accounts set up, wallpapers etc - now realised the keyboard backlight doesn't work. Have used the backlight button on the F8 key and also the Alt+F6/F7 (keyboard brightness) keys which work fine on my old Chromebook.
Bit annoyed to say the least. Anyone else had this? Anything else I can check before i box it back up and return it?
This is the one I bought - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8566742.

For reference, I'm specifically using a Lenovo Ideapad 5 and no matter where I check in my settings, I can't find anything regarding turning the fan off. I want to get more into voice acting by next year, but I don't want my fan causing interference with my recordings, so any help at all would be appreciated
I've used computers forever but know zero about tablets, so no doubt this is a stupid question...
We use a PDF script at a ceremony a few times a year. I tweak the script for each one. Today the team uses a binder with a paper copy. I'd like to modernize. It seems the the Idea Tab Pro would be perfect for that - inexpensive and large enough to have an image similar in size to a sheet of paper when turned sideways. I'd think this would be a trivial conversion. Am I overlooking something else I should consider? Thanks.

Just got a forced bios update while in a meeting. I guess Lenovo does not care about work times. Sadly other people do 😂

My Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i 14IMH9 performs normally on battery at around 60°C and 2.5ghz+.
However, when plugged in, CPU temperatures rise to 80–90°C, performance also temporarily increases a bit. However, after approximately 2–3 minutes, the CPU clock drops to 0.5 GHz, making the laptop almost unusable.
Unplugging restores normal performance.
What I've tried:
HWiNFO test findings:
Has anyone experienced similar behavior on a Lenovo Yoga and does anyone know why this is happening?
I'm looking for a permanent solution rather than another temporary software fix.

Hey everyone, I have a Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H (82JQ), Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060, running BIOS GKCN65WW. My TPM version is AMD 3.92.0.5 and despite having Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 enabled, I'm getting a BIOS compatibility error in Call of Duty MW4.
I found this unofficial test BIOS that reportedly fixes the issue for some users, but I've also seen reports of bricked laptops.
I'm honestly afraid to risk bricking my laptop, especially since Lenovo hasn't released an official update. I even requested a refund for the game....
Has anyone with the exact same 82JQ model tried this BIOS? Did it work, and is there a reliable way to back up the original BIOS and recover if something goes wrong?

The original post about the problem:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/s/jfBY2qZmMJ
I cleaned up SD card slot as I tried to access my old cards and it seems that dust was behind the problem I had with my laptop.
There was no protection of the slot and it is not working/the card is not visible so I am not sure what exactly happened, but after cleaning the slot of dust I have no more problems with interrupts slowing down this computer.
It is possible that it was behind the problem with disappearing PCI channels. I still has not contacted the support about it as I have other things on my mind at the moment.
Had any of you any problem using SSD disk in this model?
I tried to use an SSD on the replacement laptop and I have error randomly with disk disappearing from the system and BIOS. Normal HDD is working ok.
There is a possibility the problem is with SSD, but it works ok with my oldest Lenovo and in USB case. I need to check it with the laptop described here which was giving problems, but so far I had no time to play with disks.
