AITA For reminding a family of male and female toilets?

Had an unfortunate experience today.

I was in a public toilet today (F) in a rural area, so no attenders/staff,

A tourist was in the female toilets with 3 teenage sons.

I told them firmly that this was a female toilet and that they should not be in there.

The woman glared at me and said something in her own language.

I mentioned this to a friend of mine, who said it was more than likely a cultural difference.

AITA for telling male tourists that they should not be using female toilets?

ADDENDUM — the following information has been requested by commenters -

In the UK, male and female toilets are standard. There was a male toilet in working use.

The 3 teenagers were 13 plus, two had moustaches, they were absolutely not butch looking girls, and no obvious disabilities.

AITA for doubting i would benefit from help with a “drug problem”?

to put it as simply as possible without neglecting to give crucial context, i (18) smoke marijuana and take prescription medication (which is mine and legal for me to take.)
my friend/partner (dont ask) does not enjoy the fact that i smoke, and a couple of friends that precede them have suggested to me that i have a drug problem. i do not like this. this friend also lowkey felt like he was taking advantage of me whenever i wasnt sober, but i dont feel like this is the case.

now, you may be wondering, “hey, aren’t you 18? why are you smoking marijuana?” well, a bit of background; i have extreme, extreme chronic pain as well as mental health issues. that and More are what caused me to be put on the medication i referred to earlier. it isn’t an opiate nor is it a benzo, but there is addiction and dependency risk and unfortunately ive had to take my dose into my own hands because i’m not getting properly treated. love-hate relationship with the medication. i can actually get things done now that ive upped my dose, but i still have puzzling neurological and nerve issues.

whenever someone asks me about my smoking or my medication (im very open about them and open to questions), it usually leads to them trying to get me to quit. i understand where it comes from, but for one i dont think im a heavy user of marijuana (i smoke most days out of two weeks and then take a break for three-ish, correct me if this is heavy smoking), and secondly the marijuana and medication keep me from being genuinely inconsolable from pain most of the time.

Yes I may be a bit dependent on these at times since i have no other help and i need to get things done, but am i an asshole for denying that i need help with the drug use specifically (not the pain and disability)? It’s been nagging at me and I feel guilty. So guilty. Eight times out of ten I’m not using it for fun. I’ve been told seriously that I need to go to rehab.

Please be honest! I don’t feel like anything from my friends are coming from a place of malice, but I don’t think it’d be wise to stop. I spent weeks screaming my head off in pain ready to check all the way and now when it flares i have something but im starting to feel bad for doing it. It wasn’t that friend/partner that said most of whats raising my doubts, but since they mentioned it? It’s been nagging at me again.

AITA for telling my friend that a guy from a fictional manhwa is a red flag

english is not my first language so ignore the grammar mistakes but basically me, my friend and 2 other close friends we have were all in a group call, and her profile picture was eunhyuk from the manhwa operation true love, and a bit of context is that basically he ghosted the main female character for 10 years.

so when i saw her profile picture i jokingly said things like “he’s a red flag” “he ghosted her for 10 years” and “nothing can justify that” as a joke and she kept repeating that he had his reasons and all that, that whole conversation probably lasted for less than 10 seconds before she left the group and blocked me. i honestly thought that we were just joking because we would never fight over a fictional character.

What annoys me the most is that she always blocks me for small reasons like this, one time i joked about my bf doing annoying shit as a joke and she blocked me on that too, she always does this things and im honestly over it. we’ve been friends for years and honestly it makes me feel sad that she resorts to blocking me and leaving gcs whenever she feels annoyed. I always end up reaching to her in different social media platforms to get her to unblock me because i value our friendship

i confronted her about it and i know my messages were a bit mean too but i was annoyed. She said smth like “its not even about that its the fact that you kept repeating it even if nobody cares at all while we were in a group call” The whole conversation lasted less than 10 seconds and i honestly thought we were joking. And i defended myself and said things like “it wasn’t even that serious” and i was a bit mean and annoyed and said things like “bro it cannot be that serious who gives a fuck about that guy and that manhwa” and then she followed up with
“fine u can make me look like the butt of the joke infront of other people and call it a joke ig im cool with that” and i guess that she maybe thought i was embarrassing her but when all i said was me insulting eunhyuk and not her? i never once insulted her for liking that guy or making him her pfp because it doesn’t matter to me, i was js simply joking about it since she also told me before that he was an asshole for ghosting that girl so i didn’t think she would take it seriously.

Honestly, what im annoyed about is the fact that whenever she gets annoyed she keeps blocking me and making it a big deal. It makes me feel like our friendship doesn’t matter to her. I genuinely dont see how me calling that guy a red flag came out as me making her a joke when she literally also said it herself that the eunhyuk guy was an asshole and a red flag for doing that too. I mean i get that she would feel embarrassed over me calling that guy out but i don’t think she should’ve left the call and the gc over that because it made it awkward for everybody in it. Am i the asshole?

AITA for not liking a girl in my friend group

I F(23) just started my masters 2 months ago and made some new friends, all girls my age. There's this girl, let's call her Avni. Honestly, I don't like her and after what happened today, I'm starting to think if I'm the problem.

When I first met Avni, one of the things that immediately put me off was how she talked about other people. We were standing in a corridor and a random girl passed by. She was wearing a stunning outfit like something you would wear at coachella. I know thats not a uni outfit but people can wear whatever they want. Avni looked at her and said "eww, is she going to a fashion show". I was like "but she looks good".

As our friend group formed, other two friends lets call them Anshika and Kavya, suggested that me and Avni should sit together in classes. Anshika and Kavya have been friends from before that's why. The more time I spend with Avni, the more uncomfortable I get.

She has given nicknames to people in our class for no reason like chudail (witch), bauna (short), and others are worse like I can't say here. They're mostly racist, and classist.

One time all four of us were sitting in a canteen and a boy passed by like minding his own business. She looked at him and said something so bad I can't write here. Basically it was about being lower caste and untouchable. She also said it so loud that everyone heard. This incident made me hate her like it's 2026 how can people still think like this.

Also whenever I'm talking in the group, she always talks over me. She never lets me finish stories. Sometimes she turns her back on me and leave me out intentionally. Anshika and Kavya also try to include me. When its just three of us, I talk a lot and be funny. They told me they never laugh like this when Avni's around.

They told me they also don't like this behaviour of Avni. She also don't do anything in group projects.

Today in one class, me and Avni were sitting together but not talking to each other. Anshika and Kavya were sitting a little far away so they texted in group chat asking why we aren't talking. Me and Avni said at the same time "no reason". Then Kavya said we should talk and Avni replied okay. Then Avni put her back towards me and continued using her phone.

After class, I told Anshika and Kavya to not tell her to talk to me because I believe if she wanna talk she'll talk and I kinda have rejection anxiety. I also told them that I don't wanna talk to her anyway because I don't like her. Which I think was a mistake because they haven't been the same to me since then. They started talking over me and when I said you guys didn't let me talk, Kavya said that they are bad people only you are good, she said they aren't good enough for me.

Now I feel bad. Maybe I shouldn't have said that I didn't like her.

So. AITA for not liking a girl in my friend group and telling my friends about it?

Edit: So only Anshika and Kavya have been friends from before. I became their friend first and then came Avni.

I'm from India and where I live, there's still caste system and some people still follow caste hierarchy which I find ridiculous.

Asshole AITA FOR CANCELING HALLOWEEN

I’m a single mom ( f 39) to a daughter(12) .

For context I am also the sole caregiver for my mother who is currently going though Alzheimer’s, + dementia. Sunday , I went and bought groceries just for her, including a six pack of Canada Dry there were also two other 2 L in the refrigerator as well .I went today to put a couple of cans into the refrigerator only to find have all disappeared. When i asked my daughter she shrugged and said she has no idea what happened to them , but she was the last one to move them because I asked her to take them out of the kitchen and place them on the dresser in my room.

I know my my mother has sometimes drinks a lot of soda, which is why I ration it out but the other cans never made it to the refrigerator or my room they’ve simply disappeared into thin air . When I asked my daughter again she still insist she doesn’t know although she was the last one I saw with them .
I then her because she could not tell me the truth Halloween is now canceled . Now her father is calling me telling me that I’m being ridiculous am I the asshole???

AITA for refusing to pay my brother back for a camera grip gift that he suddenly turned into a full-priced bill?

My brother is furious with me, and our parents think I am being ungrateful over a gadget, but I honestly feel like I am being gaslit.
My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. I finally upgraded to the new Galaxy S26 Ultra, mostly because I wanted to take advantage of Samsung’s famous camera setup for street photography. Knowing this, my brother surprised me with a new Telesin camera grip for my birthday. It is honestly such a cool piece of gear that adds a physical shutter button and a proper mirrorless-style grip to the phone. I was so excited and happy when I got it.
When he handed it to me, I thanked him, but I also told him straight up: Hey, this is awesome, but we agreed on a smaller gift budget between us. Let me Venmo you half so we can split it.
He brushed it off and said: Don’t worry about it, consider it a joint investment because I want to borrow it for my upcoming road trip. I thought that settled it.
Well, fast forward to yesterday. We were splitting bills from a family dinner, and he sent me a Venmo request that included the full $130 for the camera kit agged on top of my dinner share.
I texted him asking what that extra charge was. He replied: Oh, since you have been using that grip constantly to test out the S26 camera for your street photos and posting about it, you clearly love it. You should just pay for it yourself.
I refused to pay $130. I reminded him of our conversation where he called it a gift or joint investment, and offered to either pay my half ($65) as we originally discussed or just give the kit back to him if he wanted full reimbursement.
Now he is calling me cheap, and my mom says I should just pay it to keep the peace since I am already enjoying how well the physical shutter pairs with the new Samsung camera.
I feel like I am in a really awkward spot over a misunderstanding about a birthday present. AITA?

WIBTA if I let people know my MOH is pregnant before my wedding? *urgent in two weeks*

I’ve only ever made one other Reddit post so forgive me for any mistakes I make.
For context of the things my fiance (31m) and I (26f) have been dealing with you can even read that other post.

Anyways my wedding is in two weeks and my MOH lives in another state from me after moving there to live with her boyfriend last year. This past July she let me know that she just found out she was about just over 3 months pregnant and I’ll say I can’t be happier for her.
She did ask that I keep it to myself along with the gender - for context her and I used to work together and that’s how we met almost 4 + years ago. So with that we also made a lot of the same friends even going beyond the work place and at this point nobody else beside one other person knows she’s pregnant. My fiancé is pretty peeved that she hasn’t let anyone else know because the majority of my side is coworkers and friends that we share in common that don’t know anything about the pregnancy even those in the bridal party with her.

By the time of my wedding she’s going to be 7 months along and my fiancé is mad that she will be basically announcing it with her walking down the aisle before me because nobody’s been told.

I’m really really not good at confrontation but this is stressing my fiancé out and I’m worried about coming off horrible to people. I’m quite aware that I’m a type of friend to allow others to walk on me and I’m not good with knowing what I want and pushing for it but I will for my fiancé.

I would never let the gender slip but WIBTA if I let it slip to people that she’s pregnant?

WIBTA- pregnancy reveal

Last week, two of our good friends got engaged. Two couples. This Friday, the six of us are having dinner at one of their houses to celebrate.

I am pregnant, and aside from the engagements we’d be ready to share the news. I was planning to hide it, but now that it’s a double engagement celebration is it okay to also share this? Not trying to pull focus, but there’s a good chance they’ll notice I’m not drinking.

Would I be the asshole to share?

AITA for “abusing” my hostess?

A dear old friend moved away to a coastal town with her boyfriend, let's call her Nancy. I missed her a lot, so visiting her for a long weekend getaway seemed like a fun idea. Our dogs are buddies, so I planned to rent a pet-friendly Airbnb in their neighborhood. The options were fairly limited so Nancy immediately offered to host me in their guest room so we'd have more time together.

Nancy and her man picked us up at the airport. We had fun shopping, going out to eat, attending yoga classes, and walking the dogs. One morning I paid for our brunch at a cute restaurant. Nancy really liked a dish that I know well, so I offered to teach her how to make it. We decided to cook brunch together my last morning there. I bought all the groceries we needed for our home cooked meal.

The next morning, I woke up, showered and started prepping ingredients, waiting for Nancy to join me. Her boyfriend emerged from their bedroom to say they were having a difficult discussion. He was apologetic. I told him it was fine but I should finish making brunch for us so we'd have enough time for our beach plans before my flight home.

Not long after that, they both got ready for the day. Nancy and her boyfriend announced they were leaving to go buy a pet rabbit. I was almost ready to plate our meal, so I was really stunned. They asked me if I wanted to join them. I had been up for quite a while, waiting for her to come out of their bedroom. It took over an hour to cook this huge brunch and I was feeling really hungry. I was honestly too sad to argue, so I just shook my head, "no."

They left. I burst into tears at this point. I had a strong urge to pack up and leave because I felt very disrespected and unwelcome. I knew a rideshare or cab would not allow my dog so I thought about leaving her there for a bit while I took a cab to rent a car. Then I realized their local rental car company didn't allow dogs either, so I felt stranded.

I decided to calm down and call Nancy to explain how hurt I felt. I rang her, she said hello, then passed the phone to her boyfriend. He launched into full psychoanalysis mode. I was shocked. After giving me a bizarre lecture, he said they wanted to keep our beach plans and told me to wait.

When they returned, there was no new pet, and no apologies. We reheated the food, ate and went to the beach with the dogs before they dropped me off at the airport. By the time I was home safe with my dog, I had a full-blown migraine from all the pent-up emotion.

I tried to address our strange morning with Nancy again. She immediately responded to my message, saying I was "abusive" for bringing it up again. AITA? In this case, I guess that could actually stand for Am I The Abuser? Or is she The Hostess from Hell?

AITA? I just found out my friend is naming his daughter the same name as my daughter.

I have a coworker who I'm somewhat close with. My wife gave birth to our beautiful little girl one year ago. While she was still pregnant we had my coworker and his wife over for dinner and discussed everything including what we're naming our daughter and what the name symbolizes. It symbolizes "God's gift" because my wife had fertility problems. I discussed my baby with said coworker many times over the last year. This coworker and his wife had a miscarriage years ago and thankfully she just found out they're having another baby and it's a girl. Today I just found out from a different coworker that they are naming her the same as ours. The reason they gave for the name? The exact same as ours. My friend asked him if he knew that was my baby's name and he claims to have forgotten or didn't know. I'm kind of annoyed and feel pretty weird about it. My wife says to not bring it up with him and let it go. AITA?

AITA for not letting this connection grow?

Okay, for context: this guy (24m) is some random guy who added me (24f) on snapchat and instead of a hi, hello, he shot up a question and we got into easy conversation. For 2-3 days, we shared most things, talked day and night, as friends because what else would we be anyway? He told me he had a breakup 6-7 months ago and I told him my own reason as to why I wouldn't be dating at all.

Anyway, he did flirt with me here and there. Told me he was attracted and turned on by me for whatever reasons, they were harmless selfies too, btw. And he even asked to talk dirty which I said a firm no to. And then we did talk for a day, the 3rd day and afterwards, there was not much from him though we were talking pretty well the night before. My reason being that I was out with my mates and he had his classes.

I asked why he wasn't texting much, he told me it's exclusive to text day and night. That he'd only do it with his gf. He didn't have any trouble texting me for 3 days like that though? But he told me he was on a break. And I dunno. I told him, well, I cannot take anything less than what I expect as I'm done not asking for what I want. I just wanted a platonic bond, I wasn't asking to be his gf as he wasn't prepared for it and I didn't see him that way. Now, I told him to remove me if he couldn't talk to me properly as before and he did. From snap and then insta too, in a minute. So, am I overthinking this? Or can I genuinely not expect the opposite gender to be my friend? Just friend. Heavy on that.

AITA for reporting my english teacher to my student counsil?

am i the AITA. For some context, I'm in a school in Denmark that mixes culinary school with your high school diploma, so you get two in one. It's one of Denmark's most taxing and hard educations, where within half a year, 50% of the class drops out. We get a lot of work both in the kitchens, where we have to make and plate menus and even run a restaurant, while at the same time having all the academic subjects. Most of my teachers try to only focus our homework on things that come up on exams, as we don't have time to work on anything that might be irrelevant. We also only get one piece of homework per week for every subject, as otherwise it's too much.

Now, this is where my English teacher comes in. Every day we have her, she gives us an essay or a presentation, and some of the material is completely pointless for our exams and, frankly, a waste of time. A lot of people have been complaining about it. Not only that, but she has shown a lot of attitude and favoritism towards certain students. I used to be her favorite since I've lived abroad most of my life, and therefore, English was my first language. But because of her actions, the other student council representative and I decided to go to our head of student council with all our issues about her. They said they would talk to her boss about it, and since then, she has been treating me and my friend horribly.

I have been sick for the last week with a fever. I was expecting to get some absence, of course, but I can see that I got about 20% more absence than what I should have. Now, I don't have proof that it is her, but ever since I've been back, she's been pestering me about having a serious talk about my absence. Usually, I wouldn't have a problem with it, because if a student has over 40%, they get pulled aside by their homeroom teachers for a talk, even if they were sick. It's more of a wellness check. But she isn't my homeroom teacher, and technically, I shouldn't have over 25% absence. But when I checked, I have 46%.

Some of my classmates say it's because I shouldn't have gone to student council with it, as she clearly just got angry. Others say it was good to report her. So, did I do the right thing, and how do I handle her? I can't really go to my homeroom teachers, as they've already said it's not their business. I feel a bit stuck here because in my other subjects everything is fine and other than that everything is going well. Also this could seriously affect my grades for the winter if i dont pass my english exams i wont be allowed to continue at the school which would litterally kill me as ive worked my ass off the last year to get in i pull 12 hour shifts at my restaurant to get extra points and ive used hours at home to work on my culinary skills. its my dream to become a cook, and technically i could switch over to a different type of education where its only culinary but i really want my highschool deploma just in case and i do genuanly enjoy akademics as well.

AITA for telling my brother that he can't invite his in-laws to the Christmas lunch I am hosting?

1.3k Upvotes

My brother has spent the last 3 Christmases with his wife's family. Even though we miss him on the day, as a family we've been understanding of this because his wife's family don't all live in the same place, so they can't see them all on the same Christmas, unlike our side of the family, who all live relatively close to each other and can therefore see each other every Christmas.

I hosted Christmas at my house last year and offered to do so again this year, since no-one else in the family has the space or cash to host a big group of people all together. The guest list includes my mother and my in-laws - aka my children's grandparents. I invited my brother to join us this year, as it appeared that they wouldn't be away and didn't have any other plans.

Then he messaged me saying his wife's bio mother (who lives far away) will be in town over Christmas and staying with the wife's sister. Would it be OK if the mother, the sister and the sister's boyfriend joined us for Christmas lunch, because the mother doesn't see much of her grandchild (my brother's first child, who is a baby) and doesn't want to miss Christmas day with him.

I'm not comfortable with this idea. My brother's in-laws are not great at talking to people outside of their circle and they don't know my in-laws at all. If I invite them, my brother will have to "babysit" them through the event because they are unlikely to talk to anyone else. Plus, if the reason for them coming is that grandma doesn't want to miss out on the baby, then odds are none of the rest of the family (our own mother included) will get much time with him either.

When I told my brother I wasn't hosting his in-laws, he told me that he would then also not be attending Christmas, as he can't deny his mother-in-law the afternoon with her grandchild. He is now blaming me for our family not seeing each other on Christmas.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. First of all, I would never dream of inviting three people to an event that I am not hosting, and second of all, to then turn around and say "well if they're not coming, I'm not coming" seems absolutely crazy to me.

I have told him multiple times that Christmas is really just lunch and opening presents, maybe 4 hours of the day. He can spend the whole morning and the rest of the day after lunch with his in-laws; nobody expects him to be here all day. Also, the mother-in-law will be staying up the road from him, so she will see her grandchild multiple days leading up to Christmas and multiple days thereafter. None of this makes a difference; if all five of them can't come, then none of them will come. Those are his terms.

I want to be inclusive and to make sure everyone has a great Christmas, but is it so terrible to also just want to spend time with my brother on Christmas day, without his in-laws in the picture, for the first time in 4 years? Should I just have rolled over for the sake of the family being together?

AITA for taking a selfie?

Was recently on a 12 day cruise with my partner. Part way through the cruise we heard at lunch time that we would be passing under a historically significant bridge during the night. My partner and I briefly talked about how interesting it would be to see, neither of us made a firm plan to see it.

I had already arranged with my partner that I would need to be away from the cruise stateroom at 11pm to take an important call with my parents estate attorney. My partner wasn't feeling well for the previous day or two and we were both jet lagged, so I said goodnight to him and that I would try to be quiet when I came in. He said he would probably be up and not to worry about being loud.

I took the call, sent my partner a message on the ships chat messaging system that I was finishing up and would be coming back soon, and asked if he needed anything. I then spent a few minutes typing up notes from the call. When I finished, I looked up and realized we were passing under the bridge.

I checked the chat, and had no response from my partner. So I went to the bathroom and then went outside and, here's where I might be an asshole, took a selfie under the bridge before going back to the room.

When I got back my partner was fully dressed, waiting for me, and looking agitated. He said he had turned on the ship tv, seen that were passing under the bridge, and was going out to see it. I said, I know! And showed him the selfie.

He stormed out and was livid that I had done that without him. I didn't understand why he was so mad because he didn't ever respond to my message, although he said he received it. He said I should have come straight in the room to wake him up so we could go together and that I should have known to do that since he had mentioned wanting to see it and it was horribly inconsiderate of me to take a selfie without him.

Reddit, I understand his feelings were hurt. But I did try to consider him by messaging him to see if he needed anything. He didn't respond! AITA?

Not the A-hole AITA for asking my boyfriend to walk an extra kilometre so I could use a washroom?

My boyfriend (M) and I have been together for 3.5–4 years.
The issue isn’t just shopping. I love shopping, visiting cafes, trying new cuisines, and exploring new places. Whenever we do something I want to do, he rarely seems enthusiastic. But when we’re visiting his friends or doing something he enjoys, I bring my full energy because I want to participate in his world, too.
He has good qualities. He cooks for me and buys me gifts sometimes ( I do too )However, out of roughly ten shopping trips together, nine have ended in serious fights or tears. He’s even called me low-intellect for liking shopping.
I grew up without many friends or sisters, and shopping became something I genuinely enjoyed. I always imagined sharing these little experiences with my partner. Now, I’m starting to associate them with sadness.
Recently, M had to work on a Sunday (3.5-4hour)and there was a shopping festival in Delhi ( which I have wanted to go to since 1 year coz I missed it last year coz of him).He initially suggested I go while he played cricket. I said that if he had the energy to play cricket after work, I’d appreciate him accompanying me instead. However, I explicitly told him he didn’t have to come if he was genuinely tired.
He came, but wasn’t interested in the stalls or food. I didn’t insist he participate; I was just happy he was there.
I asked him a couple of times if he was tired or wanted to leave. He kept saying, “No, do your thing. I’m fine. It’s your decision.”
After leaving the market, I urgently needed a washroom. There was a five-star hotel about a kilometre away, and I asked him to walk there with ( coz it was late at night and I also told him this inside the market),and my journey home would take over an hour. I’ve struggled with holding my pee on long journeys before and didn’t want to risk being unable to stop an Uber.
He suggested I control it a little, but we went to the hotel.
Afterward, he called me selfish and said this was why I had no friends, why nobody wanted to go shopping with me, and that I should learn to adjust. He said I could have controlled it instead of making him walk.also texted me multiple times saying what a sh*tty person I am
For context, we regularly walk 10–12 km together, so an extra kilometre didn’t seem unreasonable to me. However, I understand that he might have been tired after work.
What hurt most was that I’d given him the option not to come, checked whether he wanted to leave, and thanked him for accompanying me. He hadn’t clearly communicated how frustrated he was until he started insulting me. All this made me cry the entire way home where he continued talking. He makes me feel like my tears or me wanting to pee badly doesn’t matter to him ( there have been previous incident where I controlled it so bad I thought I’ll die but he didn’t care )
The reason I’m so heartbroken is that I wanted just ONE day where we could do something I enjoy without being berated for it. Just one day. And somehow, even that feels impossible. Btw shopping is the only thing I asked on 2 of my birthdays and it ended in a fight and tears one year and not happening another year
AITA for asking him to walk an extra kilometre so I could use a clean washroom?
Edit - We already do stuff he likes and even I like it ! And if I don’t I do it for him with happiness. There’s hardly anything I would do with him that I don’t like from his errands to his friends parties. Also we never watch anything on to that I want to watch

AITAH for asking my wife to stop specific behavior with her friend?

• Upvotes

My(M) wife and I are friends with a small group of parents from our kids school. We've gotten to know them and others for the past 2 years. Our friend here who have gotten to be good friends with my wife is a person who likes to touch or show affection that way. Before we get any further, there is nothing going on, my wife and I have access to our phones and emails, messenger, where each one is, etc...

But for the past half year, they've just gotten more physically affectionate in a group setting or even when both husbands are around. Some of these include longer than usual hugs, cuddling each other from behind, and swaying, caressing each other's back or arm, random middle school style slow dancing, head on shoulder, sharing a bed and cuddling in a hotel room that they shared with two other moms, etc...? Like you would think that they are the couple.

Now I know and maybe this is stereotypical, but women are just more comfortable doing that whether in a group setting or not.

AITH for setting boundaries with my Wife on some of that stuff? Like if you want to hug, that's fine, but all the other stuff? Just made me uncomfortable. My wife and I spoke on this and I shared my thoughts on it and set the boundary, which she mentioned she felt bad that it made me feel that way but now I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong. AITAH?

AITA - I Don't Like My Upcoming Birthday Party

I have a milestone birthday around the corner. My girlfriend came up with the idea of a big party at a hall and she's going to cover the cost. A few years ago, I threw a small family gathering at our home for her milestone birthday and invited a lot of her family over. Her birthday is in the same month and so is her father's. My father's is as well and it'll be a milestone for him as well (I'm 20 years younger than my father). At first, she wanted it to be centered around me, but I told her I wouldn't mind if we honored both our fathers as well and it only made sense to toss her in as well.

We began sending out invites through a website, but didn't think to specify only +1 for each. One person on her side responded with five more people in addition to her. I have sort of met the other five people, but I wouldn't by any stretch say I know them. It grates me that this person is taking such blatant advantage of an invite and a couple other people have included more than one person aside from themselves.

We picked a venue together and decided on a place for the catering and we're going to pick up the food to avoid a delivery fee. But one of the sides is potato salad. I HATE potato salad and she knows this.

I don't mind things not being all about me in the slightest. If you find me in a room full of people, I'm probably somewhere off to the side in the smallest circle of people possible. I do not like being the center of attention.

I'm starting to feel like I don't want this party to be for me. I'd much rather do something small that is specifically focused on me and just involves the two of us and not this giant thing with people I don't know with food I won't eat. This may sound like ingratitude, but please let me highlight a few things.

I'm a Christmas baby. For anyone born near the end of December, you'll understand how I was short-changed when it came to birthdays. As an adult, I don't want all the fireworks, necessarily, but I do want to feel special on my special day.

I also have anxiety and I've been torturing myself with guilt because she's footing the bill. I wouldn't mind going to this party, I just don't want my name slapped on it. It doesn't feel like it's about me at all.

If it were a just a general party, I wouldn't have any issue. I just went to someone else's party that had food I didn't care for and I had a great time. I want to enjoy this, but the idea that this is a party for me is making me feel like the child who received Christmas/birthday hybrid gifts. It's making me feel like an afterthought rather than the reason for the party.

I'm absolutely not going to complain to her about any of this. My girlfriend is a wonderful woman who makes me feel special every day of the week and treats me in ways I never thought I'd experience until I'd met her. The best I could hope for is making her feel half as good as she does for me. I feel guilty as hell.

Not the A-hole AITA Living with traditional parents

Lemme preface by saying my parents are traditional African and Haitian.

I moved in with my uncle in his 4 bedroom house 6 days ago. He has one room, his daughter has another, my parents share one and I have the last. My parents pay half my uncles mortgage. My dad had his clothes in the room I am currently in. A bunch of suits and dress clothes he barely wears. My uncle told me to tell my dad to move his stuff to make room for me. So I asked my dad to make room for my clothes. They said no I dropped it. To my surprise they can’t get over it. Apparently that was super disrespectful of me to ask and it caused a whole issue. They want me to move out and say I am too disrespectful. I swear this is all over a closet. I work in a line of work that requires me to dress business casual often. My dad works at Olive Garden. I do feel like it’s a bit unfair for me to have to live out of my suitcase and I can’t hang up my clothes. I don’t even have a dresser and my uncle won’t let me add hooks to the wall. I am so confused as to why this is a big issue. Am I out of pocket for asking my dad to make room for me? Did I break some parental code that I am not aware of?

AITA for giving a uber driver my phone even though I have a boyfriend?

I (24F) live in a Latin American Country which recently had its elections. Ihave a boyfriend, and recently I took an Uber on my way to a class. During the ride, the driver was playing a song criticizing a certain party and asked if I minded him leaving it on. I said I didn't mind, since I share the same views and we started talking a little about politics and other things (I am a PoliSci bachelor).

The conversation did not involce flirting in any way. He was mostly asking questions, and I was answering and keeping the conversation going with small talk, as I normally would. I wasn't interested in him (honestly he was quite annoying a but since I was in someone's car I always try to be polite).

When we arrived at the place where I take my classes, he stopped the car outside and asked for my phone number. I gave it to him, even though I had no interest in him whatsoever.

The reason I gave it to him is that, in that moment, I didn't feel comfortable saying no. I was alone at night in the car with a complete stranger, and I didn't know how he would react if I rejected him. I didn't want to risk making him angry or creating an uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situation while I was still in his car. I also didn't explicitly tell him that I had a boyfriend, because I felt like I couldn't comfortably turn him down at that moment.

Afterward, he texted me, but I ignored his messages and deleted them. He continued texting me, so I eventually blocked him.

My boyfriend knows what happened and told me he doesn't have a problem with it and understands why I reacted that way. However, when I discussed the situation with some older members of my family, they said that giving another man my number was disrespectful to my boyfriend and that I should have simply said no and made it clear that I wasn't interested.

Now I'm questioning myself. I understand why someone might see giving my number to another man as inappropriate when I'm in a relationship, but I genuinely wasn't interested in the driver. I wasn't trying to pursue anything with him, and I cut off contact as soon as it became clear that he wanted something from me.

So, AITA for giving him my number because I felt uncomfortable rejecting him directly? Was I being disrespectful to my boyfriend, or is it understandable to prioritize your safety and avoid confronting a stranger when you're in a vulnerable situation?

AITA for not going for a meal out with friends because of GTA 6

I’ve been telling my partner of 2 years for months that the weekend of GTA 6 I won’t be doing any plans except playing the game.

One of my partners friends and colleague has organised a meal out because she is going on maternity leave the week after and they couldn’t do it that weekend as they are busy. I told my partner I’m not going to the meal I’ve been wanting to play this game since the release date was announced and as a lifelong gamer it’s important to me the last GTA came out when I was 14.

Now she’s making me feel like an asshole for refusing to go to this meal with her friends because I want to play a game that “I can play at another time”

So am I the asshole for refusing to go to this meal out?

AITA? Credit Card Use in Lieu of Child Support Payments

So, my wife’s ex has come up with a new plan for paying her the monthly child support. He wants to earn points on his credit card so he ordered a card in her name (mind you he gave her social so it’s affecting her credit, but that’s a story to itself). So now she has to keep tabs on how much she charges each time so she doesn’t go overboard. We were planning on getting a gift card so it’s one charge and done. Meanwhile we ran into some issues about it. Being flagged for fraud. When I expressed my frustration to wife she got upset with me instead of taking responsibility or just telling her ex stop it I need it to be cash payments as till now. AITA or not?

Ps I was buying a house on my own at the same time with a full time job while listening to her complaint every day.

AITA for asking out a former student?

• Upvotes

TLDR: I work in an industry that requires 2 years of training, I got this job when I was 17 and have been doing it almost 10 years, and I am now an instructor.

So me (M26), teaching this training had a student (F31), who was the most exceptionally beautiful woman I had seen in my entire life, once she graduated and left the school I asked if she wanted to hang out, she came over. I threw on a record, gave her a house tour, and we yapped and had a few tasty beverages (at some point during the evening, I admitted I had a crush on her). At the end of the night she says she wants to go to bed, I offer my room immediately and I’ll sleep on the couch, as it feels appropriate. She’s happy about this and takes the bed, the next morning she wakes me up and says bye with a smile.

After this, I text to see how she’s doing with no response. After prying with a few “hey, what’s up” type texts, I get told “don’t try and date students, it’s weird”

I think since I’m no longer her teacher, and that she’s a good bit older than me it’s not that weird, but I still feel gross after being told that. Thanks all.

AITA for calling my sister rude which ended up causing an argument?

Some background information. Me (25M) and my sister, let's call her Sally (21F) have a non-existent relationship. We don't talk at all, as several years ago Sally decided that she hated me for no reason at all. Now, for the incident that happened yesterday. My family has an extra running fridge in our garage that has food that won't fit in the fridge inside, and my breakfast muffins are in the garage fridge. So I was going to go get one of the muffins for breakfast and went over to the door leading towards the garage. The door didn't look like it was open, and right when I was about to reach out to grab it, Sally came pushing the door open with force. It almost hit me, and she just walked right past me without so much as a spare glance my way.

This is the part where I feel I may be the AH. Without thinking, the words "That was rude" came out of my mouth. I didn't intend for it to happen, our relationship is already non-existent, I didn't want to somehow make it worse. (If a non-existent relationship CAN get worse...) That caused Sally to tell our Mom (70 F) about how I called her rude, and our Mom viewed me calling her rude as disrespectful. It turned into an argument, because to both Mom and Sally, I called her rude when Sally was just simply helping clean out the basement. I didn't know until a few minutes after I called Sally rude, but apparently she was going back and forth to the basement to the garage to carry boxes to the car, and of course, she wasn't aware that I was on the other side of the door. I did try to acknowledge that in part of the argument, but no one would listen to my side.

I still feel like most people would say something, like "Oops, sorry I didn't see you there!" because at the very least, me and my parents would do that if we were in Sally's position. But yet, I am the disrespectful one for calling her rude when I was almost hit by a door?

I don't understand it, but anyway, AITA?

Not the A-hole AITA for refusing to let my brother michael move in after he bailed on our parents

last month my parents called and said michael needed a place for a few weeks because his lease fell through. i said no. i had promised myself a long time ago that i would not keep rescuing him every time he made a bad call. it had happened too many times before. i told them he could stay with our aunt for a bit instead and i would help him find a new apartment. they were upset but they understood my side. michael called me the next day and said i was selfish and that family should come first no matter what. i get why he is mad and i know things are tight for him right now, but i also know that every time i have stepped in he ended up right back in the same spot. i stuck to my line this time and it feels strange to hold it.
