I just wanted a hot dog The cheapest health insurance I can get as a 29y/o
In 2026, I paid $270/mo for health insurance + dental. It's no longer available, and this is the cheapest I can get. I also don't qualify for any tax credits.
EDIT:
- I am entirely healthy, and this rate is based on me not having any doctor's visits in 2027 (besides a physical), no scans, surgeries, etc.
- This is marketplace insurance.
- My employer doesn't offer health insurance (sadly)
EDIT 2:
- I'm in Connecticut
- A broker I spoke to yesterday saw the same options that I did

Idea I fucking hate the "classes should only teach taxes and life skills" shit
Not only are most of these covered in high school classes already, but school is not there to be your parents. And if you think you aren't using math in your everyday life, you're absolutely wrong I promise you. This mentality is why we're overrun with fuckheads who think science is gay, talk like 6 year olds, and fetishize history.

Too mild for school Teacher says this goat is a ram
My daughter is in kindergarten. It's a gifted and talented class and she is doing really well. She was very upset that she got this wrong. I asked the teacher. Teacher says it's a ram. I pointed out the goatee and that it's horns are not curved. I pointed out the goat next to the Gg worksheet title. Nope. It's a ram. I asked what the fifth item was that starts with G? It's the girl. I thought that was a doll.
G is for Ram.

My boyfriend thinks splitting the bill 50/50 is fair, even though he always orders twice as much as I do.
My boyfriend and I have been dating for eight months. We both work and usually split expenses 50/50, which I was totally fine with at first. But I've started noticing something whenever we go out to eat. He'll order an appetizer, a main dish, a few drinks, and dessert. I usually just get one meal.
Last week our bill was $126. My food was around $35 but he still expected me to pay $63. So I suggested we just start paying for what we actually order. He got offended and said couples shouldn't be counting every dollar. Which is kinda funny considering he's the one who always insists on splitting everything exactly 50/50. I don't mind sharing expenses, but I also don't think I should keep paying for food I didn't eat.
Do I bring it up again or just stop going out to restaurants with him if we're splitting the check?
