Image/Video My dad's last flight as a delta captain was two weeks ago. So I made this video as a surprise for him.

This is absolutely insane right? I know everyone is complaining about this new chat, but now you get these types of responses on a case?!? I am a Diamond Medallion, Do better Delta.
Finally had a chance to do the DTW Sky club pub crawl! 3:15 was our official time. Thanks to the club desk attendants for letting us in early. Couldn't have done it without you.

Airfares are outrageous and yet they can’t fly clean planes. Ugh. I don’t want to change my loyalty as I’m not sure any other US airline is better but this is getting ridiculous. Visible crumbs in my seat area

Hurry up before it’s gone. Only $999 for nonstop to Raleigh! This is for all you folks trying to hit Diamond MDQ!

I have flown on Delta flights 8 times in the past 2 months and I’ve noticed a difficult pattern. Of those 8 flights, I’ve been seated beside a larger passenger for 6 of them.
To be clear: I am not the person who wants to shame or insult anyone’s body, especially not on a flight where we’re all uncomfortable and packed in like sardines. BUT I am struggling with the fact that there seems to be little done at the policy level to ensure comfort in these situations.
On my most recent flight, I was in an aisle with a larger passenger in the middle. They encroached completely into my space to the point where my entire shoulder and one of my legs HAD to go in the aisle. Every time a FA walked by, she admonished me and told me to stay out of the aisle. I didn’t want to embarrass the person beside me by pointing to them, but it was CLEAR that they were taking a good portion of my space. There was literally nowhere else for me to go. I was embarrassed every time this FA acted like I was the problem in the situation.
This was (as I mentioned) the 6th occurrence like this in two months time. I am a relatively average-sized person in weight and height, and I am consistently forced to sacrifice my seating space for a passenger who exceeds their seating space. One instance was so bad that I couldn’t even lower my tray table because their legs blocked me. I’ve seen the FAs notice this, but it just seems like nothing can ever be done because delta wants to charge a premium for any seats with extra space and these people beside me are unwilling/unable to pay for those.
I miss the days when flights consistently had empty seats and larger passengers could be accommodated around these.
I don’t blame the FAs or the other passengers themselves, but I’m frustrated and burnt out after having 6 out of 8 flights go this way. No one is comfortable on planes, but I’m beyond tired of spending $700+ on a domestic trip only to be cramped, squished, and folded in my own seat because someone beside me exceeds the space of theirs. I don’t care who’s to blame—it’s not about that. I just want to see a solution. It looks like the only way around this is to pay an extra $300+ per flight for comfort plus. I’m not in a place where I can pay over $1k for flights 4x per month, and so I just wish something else could be done here.
Wondering if anyone has found tactful ways to avoid these issues or if this is just the price we pay for airlines making seats smaller and smaller in an era where a good portion of the population is oversized.

Flew C+ for the first time (price differential RT: main $500, C+ $700, FC $2000… ballpark). Might be tainted because I did have a middle seat. Just didn’t feel it was worth it. Are most C+ seats filled bc of upgrades for people with status? Just wondering why regular people may choose C+ over main. Excluding business expensed travel of course. Free alcohol is cool but they only come by once anyway. Not complaining here, just really curious.
Definitely a big net negative.
Anyone connecting between Delta and Virgin Atlantic will be forced to change terminals. This matters for people connecting to India for example like US-LHR-India, in both directions.
Beyond that, Terminal 4 has worse lounges. No more Upper Class Wing, Virgin Clubhouse (one of the best lounges in the world), no Virgin Revivals lounge, and no more Centurion lounge for Amex cardholders.
In short, instead of flying Delta, fly Virgin Atlantic (plus they have Starlink which everyone seems to care about)

I have a 45 minute layover in MSP. I come in to gate F5 and leave again out of B14. I am anxious, and was looking at the map as I am not as familiar with MSP. Is the C concourse tram a good option? Will I make it?

Surprised by how affordable this is. Just one way, but have some credits to use. Availability like this for many days, not just this Tuesday. I guess their Seattle to Taipei route and their LA to Hong Kong route are not doing so hot

I am hitting Diamond for the first time and I have seen so many posts about selecting the GUC’s as the main benefit. We have some European and Asian leisure travel planned next year and would like to know the best philosophy using these. Do you pay cash for PS and then apply and get cleared to D1? Is there a higher likelihood of clearing paying cash or paying miles for PS? Should I just pay miles for D1 and not have the stress of clearing at the gate?
What advice or expectations can you share so I understand my booking options better? Thank you!

Not only did he state in the pre-flight announcements that people should use headphones with personal devices, but when some asshat in row 1 started blasting stupid TikTok videos during takeoff like the plane was his personal living room, this wonderful FA actually enforced the policy. And yes, I gave this FA a shoutout in the survey they sent me.
Wish more FAs would do this!

Was sitting in “first class” from MSP to SEA and this was the state of the airplane. This is disgusting. Just try a little bit, Delta. Please.

They finally loaded the new D1 menu starting 11/3 out of LAX to HND. 11/1 and 11/2 have a Japanese menu listed, but after that one is not listed on menu.delta.com.
I suppose it could be a specialty menu we have to pre-select now and not listed on the menu site, but I’ll be sad if the specialty Asian menus have gone away. I always found them a fun way to try something different.
I guess I’ll find out when I get my menu sent on 11/4 unless anyone has intel on the subject.

I’m a Diamond Medallion member and have flown Delta practically my entire life, but this experience has been absolutely ridiculous.
I recently flew from Atlanta to Rapid City, SD, connecting through Minneapolis, for a hunting trip. My dad and I each checked a firearm case in a proper hard case, separately and more than two hours before departure. Upon arriving in Rapid City, we discovered Delta had left BOTH gun cases in Atlanta. We had to retrieve them the following day, forcing us to change hotel plans and lose a day of hunting. When the guns arrived, my reinforced metal case had a massive crack down the side. Fortunately, the guns were fine.
I filed a damage report, bought a brand new hard case specifically designed for air travel, and discarded the old one.
On the return trip, flying the same route in reverse, my checked bag containing clothing was missing at baggage claim. Apparently, it had been left in Minneapolis and was eventually shipped to my house. I then waited an hour at oversized baggage for my new gun case, only to discover it had been absolutely destroyed. There was a massive hole in the bottom, and I could see one of my shotguns through it. I immediately filed another damage report.
Because of the zip ties placed on firearm cases at ATL, I couldn’t open the case at the airport. Once home, I discovered the shotgun had a bent barrel, the barrel had been shoved backward into the action so it couldn’t open or close, and the muzzle was warped so choke tubes could no longer be installed. The gun is unsafe to operate and effectively a total loss without extensive repairs.
Between the two destroyed gun cases, worth around $400 each, and the $2,500 shotgun, this has been an absolute nightmare. The shotgun also has significant sentimental value.
I understand baggage issues happen, but having both firearms mishandled on the outbound flight, then having my luggage delayed and a brand new gun case destroyed on the return trip, all within five days, is absurd.
Has anyone had Delta damage a firearm this severely? How did the claims process go? Did they reimburse you for the full value, or did you have to fight for it? Any advice on dealing with Delta over something like this would be greatly appreciated.
TL;DR: Delta left both our guns in Atlanta on the outbound trip, destroyed my original gun case, then delayed my luggage and destroyed my brand new gun case and a $2500 shotgun inside it on the return trip. Has anyone successfully resolved a claim like this with Delta or does anyone have advice on this?

Currently in a main cabin seat and plan to upgrade before departure. We are currently 3 weeks out. Is this price still too high? Upgrading for two people. There are still 23 delta one seats open on the a 350. Paid 2500 pp for economy.
Adding: 2500 is the price round trip to Thailand not just to ICN. Maybe still overpriced 😅

Currently in C+ but have the miles to upgrade to PS and figure I may as well. It'll be my longest flown flight by a long shot and I'm having slight nerves about it. If I were to upgrade, I had been thinking of doing the window seat on Row 22 but wanted to hear others' opinions. The return flight looks like it would be in C+ regardless as it's all full.
Thanks!

I feel like most airline discussions happen when something goes wrong, so I think it's worth talking about the crew members who genuinely make a difference.
A delayed flight, a stressful connection, or a frustrating travel day can put everyone on edge. When a flight attendant takes the time to help someone, stays patient under pressure, or handles an uncomfortable situation with kindness, it can completely change the experience.
Those moments might seem small from the crew's perspective, especially when they're just doing their jobs, but passengers remember them. Good service isn't always about doing something extraordinary. Sometimes it's simply treating people with patience and respect when they're already having a rough day.
I know not every flight will be perfect, and airline employees have to deal with plenty of difficult situations themselves. Still, I think the people who go out of their way to help deserve some recognition.
Has a Delta flight attendant ever done something that made a stressful travel day noticeably better for you? I'd love to hear those stories, too.

Hi all, I’m not a frequent flyer so looking for some help, sorry if this is a lame or simple question.
I’m flying on a smaller plane tomorrow and am Group 8, sat almost right at the back. We are trying to rush off the plane as fast as possible.
Initially I was going to take a standard four-wheeled carry on and a book bag, but will they put my carry on in the hold and make us wait around for it once we get off the plane?
Would I better off taking a gym/ duffel bag as my only luggage. I fear I’ll need more room than just a book bag.
TIA

I usually fly with United the few times that I have flown and was checking prices for a trip next September and Delta was a little cheaper. I wanted to see from people who have flown both, which do you prefer and why?
r/delta • u/AZ_Golfer78 • 1d ago
Living in Atlanta. Fares to most destinations are cheaper originating from anywhere in the SE, and connecting through ATL.
Want to go to Hawaii out of ATL. That will be $2,000. Want to go to Hawaii from Orlando, connecting through ATL on that same $2,000 flight - that will be $1,500.
How is Delta holding Atlanta residents hostage not breaking antitrust laws? Seems quite obvious that they understand they have a monopoly on direct routes from their hubs and will charge a huge premium for that vs flights originating in non-hubs.
They charge more to the customer that is cheaper for them from an operations cost standpoint.
