Today, a high-speed train collision in Urda completely severed the main rail corridor connecting Madrid with Andalusia. This is the primary route linking the capital to the entire southern region, leaving tens of thousands of passengers completely stranded with zero trains running for the next couple of days.
Instead of capping fares or offering emergency relief, Air Europa skyrocketed prices across flights heading to these affected destinations.
To make matters worse, people on Twitter/X are already reporting that their existing flights got canceled with little explanation, and when they went online to rebook, they were met with these exact inflated prices.
I checked last-minute tickets for tomorrow, returning the day after. A standard 1-hour flight between Madrid and Málaga that usually goes for €70 to €100 for a round trip is currently sitting at €426.
I get that automated dynamic pricing exists, but letting algorithms cash in on people desperately trying to get home or reach family during a national tragedy is just sickening.

I work in a store where we make specialized items. At least once a day we'll call a customer, leave a voice mail saying their order is ready, and they'll call back going "I missed a call". You're wasting yours and mine time doing this.
Today I had one call and I was on the other line, and had to put them on hold. After over a min, my coworker could grab the line. Literally to say "Your order is ready"

Many comments mention Lindsay Clancy, despite the woman in the original video making absolutely zero comment about her or that case.

I live on the busiest street in my neighborhood and they've decided it's a brilliant idea to rip up the sidewalk for a month, right before Halloween...one of the busiest nights of the year, where everyone is walking and the streets are packed.
Gonna be ringing the number and complaining.

Tall women only want guys EVEN TALLER than them, while oblivious to the fact that they'd look like two giants towering over everyone around them. They were apparently raised by their parents to date men taller than them. And their excuses for thinking this way is simply "I'm tall myself"... Oh my god that means nothing! Just because you're tall yourself doesn't mean your partner has to be even taller! That doesn't make any sense! Especially when most guys around you are going to already be shorter than you, wanting to date someone taller just because you're tall is just 100% shallow, and proves that you only ended up with him because of his height! IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! AND IT DOESN'T LOOK CUTE! Female NBA players who are 6 feet and over are ALWAYS dating men 6'5 and over, who make up just 1% of the male population... Whenever you’re out in public, and you’re a male that’s shorter than average, and there’s a woman that’s taller than you present (wedding ring in finger in most cases, you can only guess what her husband looks like), she acts like she wants nothing to do with you. And if she’s with her taller boyfriend (Who makes them both tower over everyone around them), and she sees any guy shorter than her, she gets close to him like she thinks shorter men want to prey on her… You don't need protection, especially at your height you shouldn't have to worry about any danger against you. And at beaches, tall women walk around wearing a thong while always being beside their taller curly haired boyfriend who looks like he's always on the lookout for any threat his girlfriend may face. Tall women claim that they've dated guys shorter than them before, only to dump them all over their height. They'll even state that the short guy they dated were “toxic”, and then they take it out on every short man on Earth, believing they're all like that, and even wish death on them in some cases… And whenever these women make these rants online, they just get shitloads of upvotes from other tall women and tall guys, with the other tall women claiming that they've had similar experiences, and just treat short guys like they're the plague, and don't care that they have no control over the very thing they're criticizing… They'll even make derogatory statements about their past relationship with shorter men by claiming that they felt like the guy's mother or "auntie", and everyone just justifies this... And whenever people leave them replies disagreeing with them (which is humane), they just get downvoted and mocked by hundreds to thousands… Why has America gone so downhill… You have to keep in mind that there’s countless men out there that want taller women, and all you do is be cruel to them... There's nothing feminine about that. And let's not forget the fact that many tall women believe short men as a whole have dom mommy fetishes and want to climb up tall women or be stepped on by them... WTF is wrong with you women?! Why would you think that?! You are disgusting if you believe that about short men, and using this as a reason not to date them?! That belief is offensive to short men! Here's the truth, short men as a group don't think that! You only want a taller partner because society's telling you to, and American society and culture is a joke. Enjoy being stared at by people around you heightists

TL;DR: I was suspended for a joke, lost complete access to the account, and was told to kick rocks, to which they then asked me for feedback despite the fact they did nothing to help me.
So about a year ago, though I'd say it's actually been half a year, my discord account was suspended for a joke I had made. It was a few weeks before my birthday, I was making a joke to my friends in a groupchat. I don't remember what exactly it was that I said, but to keep it simple enough, I had said:
"In [x] days I will be turning"
"9 years old"
And within an hour later my account was suspended. I'm not even mad that it was suspended, honestly it was fair that it was, because it's not uncommon for kids to lie about their age on the internet. What I'm angry about is what happened afterwards.
So in the following week, I was in the process of getting an ID for travel purposes, so I thought I would be able to get my account back once I got that in the mail. I get it in the mail and I try to log back into my account, and I can't access it, the email associated with it didn't exist anymore (for some reason), and my phone number (which still exists, duh) was not working. I submitted a support ticket through discord's support outlet (First image), and to no one's surprise, I got a response from a robot (second image). They basically told me to kick rocks.
I've had no way of getting my account back so the only thing I could do to actually get back in contact with friends was by making another account. I've been able to get back in contact with my friends that I had no way of contacting otherwise.
What really made me the angriest is that they asked me for feedback on their support team when they made zero attempt at helping me. (Third image)
I've had that old account for years and the fact that I can realistically never get it back is frustrating.

I regularly purchase spray paint from Amazon for art. Last night I ordered a can of red for $4.48, I had meant to order two, so I got on today to add one to my cart for my next order and BAM! 116% price hike overnight.

My apt complex is always sending emails and people are complaining about the dog poop everywhere (which I agree it’s a problem)….it’s rlly not hard to pick up your dogs poop when there’s free bags and poop cans like every 50 ft or so
(Also I know for some this may be only mildly infuriating but it’s actually ridiculous how many times I’ve almost stepped in shit when the trash is literally 2 feet away)

Why would I need a panel on the right side of discord that takes up unnecessary space just to display every single friend I have, including people I barely talk to or never interact with?
I already have my direct messages on the left, which shows the people I actually communicate with regularly. So why do I need another panel showing everyone on my friends list when it serves absolutely no purpose for me?
Apparently there seems to be no way to hide or remove it. It stays visible on the side while I'm chatting, in calls, and even when I'm looking in discord servers!
Why am I being forced to have a useless panel taking my screen space for something I don't want or need? Please give us an option to hide or disable it. Not everyone wants to see their entire friends list at all times, especially when the people they actually talk to are already accessible through direct messages.
Please let us customize our own interface instead of forcing unnecessary features to everyone.

I was born to 2 people who should not have been parents to begin with. Father was absent, mother sat me in front of the tele for the whole day. She left me to my absent father when I was 2. He immediately met some random from cali and got married like a month later. I was never allowed to see my grandparents (the small bastion of hope i had). She proceeded to threaten my life for the next 8 years. (Knife to my throat, poison, starving, drowning, pushing in front of cars, etc.) I tried, twice, to end my life, both times failing. Eventually i got sent to my grandparents, where i currently live. I see a counselor once a week, though still have some suicidal thoughts. I have been with them for 12 years. My family (father and step mother) did not pay child support for 8 of those years. Eventually the court found out, forced my father to. I could have taken a higher amount, but i still fear him. That ended, he only paid for the last couple years. They saw no jail time at all. My grandparents are cultists, which isnt helping. I have no real out. I have been diagnosed with severe ptsd, and autism. Forgot to mention the molesting part. My step sister (step moms daughter), would touch herself then make me smell her fingers. Eventually, she claimed i was molesting her.

Truck was parked while we went for a hike. Came back and someone had cut out our brand-new safety inspection sticker from the windshield.

Last Wednesday evening, my Amazon account account was breached. Whomever it was purchased almost $200 worth of groceries. Amazon closed my account, without my consent, thereby erasing my subscribe and save-which I had multiple items on-which put me into the upper tier for almost the maximum percent off per shipment. I also was subscribed to Amazon Prime and Amazon Kindle. Those subscriptions are gone as well. And, the worst thing of all, my whole Kindle library is gone, having a very large library of books to boot. I made multiple calls to Amazon Customer Service. They are supposedly working on it. Has this happened to anybody else? Is there anything else I can try as far as getting my Kindle library back?
Does anyone know if there’s even a chance that I will get my library back?
My birthday is Thursday-that would be the best birthday present ever!!
Thanks in advance!

My Lyft driver apparently reported that I damaged his car on my way from Atlanta Airport at 8AM on a Sunday. That cost me $75, on a $75 ride.
Lyft policy apparently says that if the driver reports any damage within a certain timeframe, the only way to contest it will be with your own photos showing prior damage or no damage.
For the life of me, I can't see "damage" that I've not seen in every Lyft or Uber I've ever taken.
Never taking a lyfrt again.

I genuinely don’t know whether to laugh, cry or scream at this point.
My LinkedIn account was hacked LAST YEAR, and dealing with LinkedIn support ever since has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had.
For context, LinkedIn is extremely important to my livelihood. Most of my clients for my own freelance work comes through this platform. I have over 7,000 connections, yet since the hacking incident, my posts barely get 50 views. I’ve repeatedly asked whether something is wrong with my account but nobody seems interested in investigating.
And here’s the best part: THE HACKER’S EMAIL ADDRESS IS STILL VISIBLE IN MY LINKEDIN ADMIN CENTER. A YEAR LATER.
I’ve complained about this multiple times.
On October 22, after I once again submitted a detailed complaint explaining everything, LinkedIn support responded by asking me to verify my identity using government-issued identification.
The problem? I HAD ALREADY VERIFIED MY IDENTITY BEFORE.
So I asked some pretty straightforward questions. Why wasn’t my previous verification sufficient? Was my account flagged for additional security concerns? Why did I need to submit sensitive identification documents again?
You’d think these would be reasonable questions after having your account compromised.
Apparently not.
Instead of answering even ONE of them LinkedIn simply told me to verify my identity again. I wasn’t refusing! I just wanted someone to explain WHY! Eventually I gave up asking and completed the verification.
On October 24, LinkedIn informed me that my identity was verified and the restriction on my account had been removed.
Great, right?
WRONG.
The hacker’s email address was STILL showing in my LinkedIn Admin Center, right next to my name under purchases.
So, completely exhausted at this point, I replied explaining that THE ISSUE WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED and attached yet another screenshot showing exactly what I meant.
I literally wrote, “Please find the attached image.”
I couldn’t have made it clearer if I tried.
And then came October 25.
Instead of investigating the screenshot, explaining why the hacker’s email was still there, or acknowledging ANYTHING I had just said, LinkedIn support replied to inform me that…
MY PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION HAD BEEN SUCCESSFULLY CANCELLED.
I BEG YOUR FINEST PARDON?!
WHEN DID I ASK YOU TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?!
I was asking you to fix my hacked account! I sent you evidence that something was still wrong! I asked you to investigate!
AND YOUR SOLUTION WAS TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION I PAY FOR?!
To make it even more ridiculous I purchased Premium through Apple. I never asked anyone to cancel it.
I genuinely cannot understand how someone could read a message about an unresolved security issue, complete with photographic evidence and somehow decide that cancelling my subscription was the appropriate next step.
Meanwhile, my account’s visibility is still practically nonexistent, my concerns about possible remaining restrictions have gone unanswered and the hacker’s email address is still sitting there.
And honestly, the most exhausting part is having to repeat myself constantly. I work approximately 90 hours a week across two jobs. I cannot spend every spare minute chasing support representatives, only to have tickets closed before I get a chance to respond and then be forced to explain everything all over again.
I have sent screenshots, explained the situation, followed instructions, verified my identity and asked the same questions over and over.
HOW MANY TIMES DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE SAME THING BEFORE A COMPANY ACTUALLY READS WHAT THEY’RE SAYING?!
I am literally not asking for special treatment. I am asking for someone to investigate an account that was compromised and explain why the problems haven’t been resolved.
And instead, I’m now dealing with an unexpectedly cancelled paid subscription on top of everything else.
I genuinely feel like I’m losing my mind dealing with this.
Also I am sorry if I sound like a complete Karen here. 😂 I am really not trying to be one. I’m just exhausted. LinkedIn isn’t just some random social media account to me. My clients, business opportunities and professional livelihood depend heavily on this platform, which is why this whole situation has been so stressful.
I don’t expect miracles. I just want someone to actually read what I’m saying.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? What on earth am I supposed to do at this point?

NPR reports that activists in Arizona are protesting the destruction of a 150–200-year-old cottonwood grove to build two parallel steel border walls southeast of Tucson. The last tree was felled after Border Patrol removed a protester who had camped in its branches; roughly two dozen people were reportedly arrested.

Idk I’m sorry yall. Talking to that one person I feel comfortable with takes an enormous amount of my time so here I am doing a dating- relationship vent.
It is justttt so hard to know what’s gonna flip the other person over to “disinterest” or how they normally like to communicate. It’s like obviously they are not going to tell you, your vibe just somewhere obviously matches up to theirs; and same goes for them to you.
But isn’t it just tiring after a while of dating that you feel like you’re never gonna fully click with someone; and that you’ll also never be able to heal from your past relationship.. Sorry that the post is so dire 🖤😭
