So I'm thinking about starting to study 2D pixel art with the goal of working as a freelancer on video game projects. I’ve always loved games, and I really enjoy staying at home. I see that these days there are many artists working this way—for indie developers or companies looking for a specific style of pixel art rather than something generic generated by AI. But AI is getting better and better every day, and it’ll only be a matter of time (if it hasn’t already happened) before we can ask it for specific design elements, and it’ll “spit out” a model or background exactly as we wanted it—so I’d like to know what you all think? 2D artists who work in this field, can you tell me a little about what you think regarding your professional future, current AI systems, and how AI has changed—and how you think it will continue to change—your work?

People already create 3D fan models based on existing VTuber designs using programs like MMD, Koikatsu, and Blender.

So, hypothetically, could someone commission a fully rigged VTuber model based on an existing VTuber’s design? Would that technically fall under fanart, similar to commissioning a 3D fan model?

I’m assuming the model would be strictly for personal use, with no public streaming, monetization, or distribution involved.

I wondered what the consensus on this was. So i made this post to gather some opinions.

Looking for an artist who can draw character design sheets for $25-$30 per sheet. I have a lot of characters I'd like to bring to life. I need them to be front and back full body, good lines not too sketchy but flat color with minimal shading is fine!
