Discussion BrightMarmot: a tiny, free app that switches brightness and vibrance per game, a simpler alternative to VibranceGUI and BrightRaider
I wanted per-game brightness and digital vibrance without a bunch of extra features, so I vibecoded BrightMarmot.
What it does
- Add a game, then set Gamma, Contrast, Vibrance, Hue and Shadow Boost for it
- Your colours switch automatically when the game is in front, and switch back when you Alt-Tab out or close it
- Only the monitor the game is on changes
- Your normal colours always come back, even if the app crashes
Why you might like it
- Simple: no hotkeys, overlays, macros or paid tier, just per-game colours
- Lightweight: about 4 MB of RAM and 0% CPU while you play
- Anti-cheat friendly: it only changes display settings, the same way the NVIDIA Control Panel does. It never touches the game, injects anything or sends input.
- HDR: works with HDR on or off
- One small .exe: no installer, no account, no internet
Vibrance and Hue need an NVIDIA GPU; Gamma, Contrast and Shadow Boost work on any GPU. Windows 10/11.
