Technically, it's the Razer Turret for Xbox One but this is my main peripheral and setup and let me tell you, I love this thing. Yes, it was overpriced ($249.99, but I got it on sale). Yes, there are other similar products - if you don't mind resting an electric piano on your lap, the Turret is compact, ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing. Gaming, browsing, checking my email - everything feels nice on the Turret. I played The Last of Us with this thing, my first shooter with a mouse and I fucking loved it! The mouse is magnetic so it doesn't slide off accidentally and contrary to what many might complain about, the size of the mouse pad is fine. I've only played TLOU but I've never felt like it was too small or I was running out of room. The Turret can be used wired or wireless.
Now it doesn't come without it's quirks. The bluetooth reception isn't as good as a PlayStation or Xbox - the USB dongle is the the size of a standard laptop mouse and so the typing and mousing was choppy at times. I alleviated this by running an extended USB cable along the wall that reached all the way to my couch and connected the dongle to that. Another thing is that Shift keys don't light up, so you see 4 but not $, in Razer's infinite wisdom that it's "for gamers", whatever the fuck that means. With all that said, these are issues that could've been addressed in future iterations of the device. Sadly, it's been discontinued for a while now. Not many couch gamers, I guess. I will add, tho, the Turret is by no means a replacement for the more competitive gamers, but it's real nice for what it is.
The thing is, I just saw a thread, some guy wanted controller support for Max Payne, his logic was that he sits in an office chair all day and he just wants to kick back when he's home. The Turrret is just for people like him.
Unfortunately, the power brick or included cable are starting to malfunction and the day is looming when my Turret dies and I won't be able to replace it ðŸ˜. Hopefully, I'll have my desk and monitor by that time.
Just today i was proudly telling my gf how lucky i am to have built my AM5 PC with 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM and 5TB of NVME SSDs 2 years ago. I even showed her the prices that i paid compared to the current prices. "I feel so sorry for all the people who have to build a new pc or upgrade their pc parts now...".
Guess who's CPU died 2 fucking hours later and had to spend 500 dollar...
Not the lab clean setup like many have but a word or two to say.
Got myself a 4k oled not that long time ago as I heard how 4k is superior for gaming.
So I thought it's good idea to replace my 34' Envia oled for a classic 16:9 32 inch Samsung G8 oled.
Not that I only got worse performance but I also lost the wide aspect ratio I actually enjoyed. Pixel density in games is just... something that I don't appreciate. Played for few hours on several titles and decided to bring my uwu back and have a 4k vertical side... and that makes a ton of sense for me.
Dense, slim but tall screen is actually great setup. I dont need to twist my neck around, the top side is a bit of a meh, but with this pixel density I hardly use 70% of screen area.
That's me yapping about it but at the end of the day what matters is what we all enjoy and thats how I found out about vertical use of monitora
With console games becoming "native pc games" at an unprecendated rate, some with VR support even. It puts those big companies quite in a predicament, my suggestion, create official roms/collections, put them on steam where it's convinient to get them. Kind of a "DIY Collection" at a discounted price.
I am warning yall, it is a scam. Its all to get higher yields in GDDR6x and GDDR7 for their Pro Workstation cards. Why do you think the supply for the 50 series, especially at the high end was so bad at launch and even throughout its life cycle and why most of us never got these cards at MSRP?
Do not fall for Nvidia's hype about the RTX Spark, if you're not buying it for AI and instead you're buying it because you can't afford an RTX 5080/RTX 5090 build right now, you are objectively getting a worse product. Look into the specs itself, for gaming, it is weaker, and you will begin to feel its weakness as games become more demanding.
My prediction is, PC gaming will bifurcate in two directions moving forward as high end becomes unattainable due to AI taking up all of the supply:
RTX Spark/ AI PC's begin to be advertised more to replace the gaming segment above 70 class GPUs.
Geforce Now/ PS Cloud Gaming/ Xbox Cloud Gaming becomes the normalised interface for games, especially while shoving ads down your throat every 15 mins.
Some of you have already seen the reports on rumors that 5080 and 5090 supply is being cut to feed Pro workstation GPUs, even videos of it. That is the canary in the coal mine for what is happening and why everything is so stupidly expensive.
Continue fighting to cancel data center projects, this subreddit as of 28/10/26 has 3.8M weekly visitors and 111k weekly contributions.
If just 10% and growing of those weekly visitors go to their representatives to cancel these deals, eventually we can cause the bubble to crash.
Always bare this in mind, if you don't want this terrible consumer future, you have to fight for it.
It happened all of a sudden, fucking fuck, it's supposed to give you some warnings fuck.
Pls tell me there is something I can do.
Fucking hell. I am gonna have to hope it can be fixed,
Iam not gonna be getting a new GPU till my exams other wise and that's a maybe . Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I have tried reinstalling the GPU and also switched from HDMI to DVI(:-|-: shaped analog one with pins )
Reinstalled drivers, only thing that's left is windows and undervolting and I wanna leave windows as a last resort , I didn't back up my saves. Man I was this close to beating ds3. Also finally killed vass in fc3.
Ps : pls tell me how the fuck I can deal with this shits almost as depressing as when I lost my grandmother.
Man this literally has been the worst year of my life
My grandma died on the day of my final exam , the same fucking exam bc of which I couldn't go see her for 2-3 months.
Then the fucking result(well ot was ok ish)
And collage sucks. It's boring with a shitload of animal sounds all day.
The issues and discs are archived online, but the outer wrappers rarely survived. Here is an especially cool one. Not sure why I said 1997 - I'm working on a project involving PowerVR 3d acceleration and I guess I had 1997 on my mind.
I've been giving him some skinflakes and oils to eat, but I don't know what's best for his diet and how much he needs quantity wise. Any help here is welcome. Thank you for the advice if you respond.
I’ve included a video: the frame rate constantly drops to 1 FPS, and everything stutters, any movement causes the game to freeze and the FPS to plummet. It’s nearly impossible to play, let alone take on a boss. It’s ruining the whole experience!
This didn’t happen before! When ARK: SA first launched, even though I played with medium/low settings, I maintained a steady 40–50 FPS. I started noticing these issues following all the buzz around NVIDIA DLSS and several driver updates. The same thing happens in the game Wardogs it runs just as poorly, with constant, severe frame drops.
My PC’s fans are loud, and it’s clear they’re working overtime. Can anyone help me with this? While I don’t have a top-tier PC, as I mentioned, just a few months ago I could play these games much more smoothly; I’ve never experienced anything like this.
Although it’s due for its annual maintenance (replacing the thermal paste and cleaning), do you really think the lack of cleaning is the cause of this? I don’t.
TL;DR: Ordered two Voyager IV Ultimates ($15,140.83 USD / $21,572.62 CAD). After an "on track" email, a "production" email and a KYC check, Starforge cancelled 11 days later with no explanation. The refund came back $381 CAD short because of the exchange rate, and the same PC is now $1,000 USD more. International buyers, be careful.
I'm posting this to warn anyone living outside of the US who is considering ordering a PC from Starforge. I feel like I have been totally wronged, and I hope this post might gain enough traction for them to reconsider their stance.
Some backstory: with RTX 5090 prices climbing every week and the rumor that Nvidia was discontinuing them, I decided to buy two Starforge Voyager IV Ultimate rigs, one for me and one for my girlfriend, before it was too late. The total came to $15,140.83 USD after taxes and shipping or $21,572.62 CAD at the time of order (Oct 16).
Order ConfirmationAmount Charged on my CC (Wealtshimple Visa Infinite, 0% FX fees)
5 days later on Oct 21, I reach out via email just to ask for an update on my order as I am eager to receive and there hasn't been any updates since my order. They confirm that my order is on track.
Order Status Inquiry From Me
Order Status Inquiry From Me
2 days later on Oct 23, they send a production check-in email confirming that my PCs are "in production or fulfillment and is moving through [their] normal processes". Okay, great, everything is going well and my expected delivery date is within the next 2 weeks. I am patiently waiting during this time and honestly quite excited.
Production check-in email
Then out of the blue 3 days later on Oct 26 (yesterday), I am sent an email where they say that my order was flagged for additional verification and KYC. They sent me a plaid link where I was to scan my driver's license and take a video of myself for processing and validation. I wasn't thrilled about having to do that, but I understood it was a large amount of money to be processing so I complied with it. They also asked me to confirm I am using the computer for myself and not resale, which I did confirm.
KYC Verification Email
Today I received an email stating that my order was cancelled because it did not meet their
"payment security verification requirements" or whatever that means.
Failed Verification and Cancellation of my Order
Obviously I was totally caught off guard by this, I paid for the PC using Shop pay with a credit card I have used for numerous purchases on Shopify. They were so vague in their wording and I couldn't understand what flagged my order and moreover, how I failed their verification. The only thing I can think of is that I used my preferred first name "James" on the order as opposed to my legal first name. This was autofilled on Shopify as I have used James on all my online orders before without issue. And also my shipping address was a bit different that my billing as I had since moved out from my parents house (however we are in the same city and only 10km away). Conveniently, the price of the same Voyager IV Ultimate has also increased by $1000 USD since I ordered and is now out of stock.
Price is now 7500 USD vs 6500 USD at time of order
At this point I was pretty furious and wanted an explanation on what exactly caused me to fail their verification, I asked for my case to escalated.
Asking for EscalationCancellation is Final
The response from their Customer Service Director was no different, and they couldn't give me any more details on why my order was cancelled. The cherry on top is that the CAD strengthened against the USD in the past 11 days, and when I received the refund notification an hour ago, I ended up received nearly 400 CAD less than I originally paid (mind you, my CC has no FX fees, so this is just exchange rate).
Refund of 381 CAD less than what I paid
This whole experience was just abysmal. Having no phone support either is rough when there's over $21K on the line. Every reply was a short canned email, and nobody would tell me what actually went wrong.
I think what really irks me is their timing. On Oct 21 they told me my order was on track. On Oct 23 they told me it was in production. Then on Oct 26 they suddenly needed a KYC check, and the next day it was cancelled. If my order looked risky, why wasn't it flagged the day I placed it? Had they cancelled within a day or two, I'd have been annoyed but whole. Instead they held my money for 11 days, the exchange rate moved, and I'm the one eating about $381 CAD for their delay.
If you live outside the US and are thinking about ordering from Starforge:
- Know that if they cancel, the refund comes back at whatever the exchange rate is that day, not what you paid.
If anyone from Starforge sees this: I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. Either let me re-order at my original price with my legal name and matching addresses, or cover the $381 I lost on the exchange rate. Or at least give me a call!
Has anyone else had an order cancelled like this, or gotten Starforge to reverse it?
I'm a solo dev and I've been working on this little app called Game Frame for a while now.
Basically, it brings frame generation, upscaling, frame pacing, and FPS limiting together in one place. The idea is to make games feel smoother without having to mess around with a bunch of different tools.
It supports 2x-8x frame generation, works with AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel GPUs, and lets you customize settings for each game.
I also recently pushed a pretty big update with a controller-friendly fullscreen interface, a redesigned in-game menu, and some major improvements to frame pacing.
It's still in Early Access, so there's definitely room for improvement. Frame generation isn't magic, and results can vary quite a bit depending on the game and your hardware.
Honestly, getting people to actually discover the app has been harder than I expected lol.
Figured I'd share it here since you guys probably know more about frame times and performance than most people.
Would love to hear what you think of it, especially if you end up trying it. Good feedback, bad feedback, weird bugs, whatever. I'm reading all of it.
For $1550. I’m tempted to run out there and grab it.
I have a 4080 super in my rig, but the domestic commander has a 2080ti. She mostly plays path of exile and poe2 but I’m future proofing here.
Anytime I upgrade her I get to upgrade me so I’m on the fence with giving her the 4080, and either picking this up or waiting on whatever potentially comes out in Q1/27 with these alleged 24gb vram 5080.
I’ve seen a lot of failure discussion with the PNY’s. Same one on amazon is $2100 at the moment.
I'm currently looking to upgrade my Sapphire RX 7700 XT PURE and I'm torn between two GPUs:
Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC White
Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5080 MASTER ICE White
I'm considering saving a little longer for the 5080 MASTER ICE, but I'm wondering whether it's genuinely worth it over the 5070 Ti AERO OC, especially considering aesthetics and performance.
I'm going for a premium, all-white, flagship-style showcase build.
Whichever GPU I choose, I'm planning to vertically mount it so the three GPU fans are visible through the panoramic glass. I'm also considering routing an illuminated Strimer cable in a sweeping curve around the GPU for an orbital aesthetic.
The 5070 Ti AERO OC appeals to me because of its clean, minimalist white design. However, the 5080 MASTER ICE looks particularly impressive with its illuminated fans and more extravagant appearance.
My usage
I mainly play competitive games such as Valorant at 1440p with a 500Hz monitor, but I also enjoy graphically demanding games, particularly Minecraft with shaders.
I also use my PC for music production in FL Studio.
My question
Would you save a little longer for the RTX 5080 MASTER ICE, or choose the RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC?
I'm interested in three things:
Is the real-world performance difference between the 5070 Ti and 5080 noticeable enough at 1440p?
Which card would look better vertically mounted in my existing build?
Would you consider the MASTER ICE worth waiting longer for, or is the AERO OC already the better overall choice?
I'd appreciate opinions, especially from anyone who owns either GPU or has experience with vertically mounted white builds.
I'll attach a picture of my current setup for reference.
Barely have any time to play anymore with 2 babies in the house and decided to sell and build a brand new system in 2 or 3 years time when my babies are more grown. Its harder than I thought letting my baby go but its for the best. Hopefully the new owner gives it the love and care I did. Hopefully prices have settled by then and nvidia is still making consumer hardware.
So in the news there have been 2 tech we have seen over the past few weeks- the dlss5 neural rendering with filter and NVIDIA GPUs ai workload performance increase by removing limiter.
Has anyone tried to implement both in a game by stacking them?
Im no pc expert but in my theory it should give performance increase
I've been trying to find a new motherboard but why are the budget itx motherboards are having a price hike it's to a point that the ones on eBay are selling like hot cakes
