I notice that drivers seem very aggressive at the crosswalks and crossing lights in OEV, often not stopping, going through while people are still crossing and lights are still flashingor speeding up to "beat" the pedestrians. A lot of people jaywalk in this neighborhood as well, making the speeds and slow stopping reaction times I've observed more concerning.
When the lights are flashing at a crosswalk, a pedestrian has the right to cross the road and if they haven't made it to the crosswalk while the other person Crossing has already crossed they still have a right-of-way and you still need to remain stopped. Legally you are not supposed to proceed through a flashing light crosswalk regardless of whether a person is crossing or not but of course it's London so these things are often not observed.
I saw a mother trying to cross the other day with a baby carriage and vehicles were just simply not stopping at the flashing lights and it's just kind of mind blowing... Y'all are speeding to a red light at Dundas and Adelaide...
Stop making assumptions about people who are crossing and just understand that you can kill people with your vehicle or severely injured them - and an accident is going to slow you down way more than just letting someone cross the damn street.
