Fees/Payments/Registration Fanshawe Withdrawal and Refund Procedure?

I withdrew from my part-time program before school began in September, but after I had already paid my fees. I initially assumed that withdrawing would initiate a refund of the fees I paid, but while I have a negative balance on webadvisor now, I haven’t heard any updates.

On October 2nd, I emailed the registrar asking if there was anything additional I needed to do. They forwarded my email to financial aid and replied to me that they sent my email to the correct department and that they’d get back to me as soon as possible. I never got a reply, so by October 6th I sent a follow-up email to financial aid and till this day, I’ve never gotten a reply to either email.

I went to the registrar last week to speak with financial aid in person and they told me they were the wrong department and to speak to the general info registrar. Not sure why they couldn’t have emailed me that, but the general registrar gave me a different email (fees@fanshawec.ca) that I have now emailed and I have yet to hear a reply back from them either.

Does anyone have any leads as to what else I can do?

Thanks in advance!

I'm starting in January and am finally ready to pay that $250 deposit, but I'm not clear on what website I'm doing that on? I'm assuming webadvisor but want to be sure before I'm just throwing money around randomly 🤣

Thanks for anyone who confirms or corrects me!

General The Struggle is Real. Midterm reminder: You are not your GPA (Resources & Support Inside)

Midterm grades are coming out, and if you’re feeling disappointed with your grades or progress right now, please remember: it happens, and you are not alone.

A few important things to keep in mind as results come in:

- You are not defined by your GPA or grade numbers. Your grades and GPA reflect a few tests and assignments, not your worth as a person. You are far more important than any grade on a screen.

- Support is available; use it. Reach out to your professors, academic advisors, counselling services or student services. Whether you need academic accommodations, tutoring, or mental health support, people are there to help you navigate this.

Also, remember that Mental health resources aren't just for extreme emergencies. You do not need to have active suicidal thoughts to reach out for mental health support. If you're overwhelmed, anxious, or just having a hard time coping, these services are for you, too.

Being a student and carrying high expectations for yourself is genuinely tough. Please take care of yourselves this week.

General Fanshawe Office Administration Questions

Im interested in the full time online office administration program at Fanshawe, I’ve read that the classes are all recorded and you can do them on your own time with the exception to due dates for assignments.

  1. I was just wondering because I can’t find it anywhere for tests I know respondus is used but are they taken at a certain time in the day (example 2pm start) or are they open for a whole day for you to take whenever you can as long as it’s that day (example opens at 8am closes at midnight).

  2. Another question is, do any of the classes have presentations? If so how do those work if it’s online and at your own pace.

Is anyone else having issues accessing the student feedback survey? It says I am blocked because I am not a direct member of the group with access. I’ve reached out to IT but wonder if I am not the only one?

Thanks :)

General Fanshawe College Accelerated Program RMT

Can someone who has taken the RMT program (accelerated) from Fanshawe tell me a little bit about the course schedule, length of classes, if they are all in-person classes (aside from the clinical), and how the clinic hours work? Also, did you enjoy it, was it a difficult transition to RMT from Kin etc. TIA!

Course Materials / Requirements Cost Accounting without Formulas?

5th Sem of Accounting. I had Cost Accounting last semester as well, and needless to say, it was my weakest subject. The midterm is fast approaching on Monday, and it’s worth 30% of the entire grade! I have a genuine question, though. How in the world is anyone doing well on this exam without ANY formulas provided at all? Like is your memory really that good? I’m sitting here thinking how to memorize all the 50+ different formulas for the exam. Any tips? I’d really appreciate it!

General Anyone taken Fanshawe’s Health Systems Management program?

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about taking Fanshawe’s Health Systems Management program and wanted to hear from people who have taken it.

My goal is to get a non-clinical job in a hospital or healthcare setting, but I’m worried about job prospects after graduation, especially since I don’t think the program has a co-op.

For anyone who’s taken it:
- Was the program worth it, and did you manage to find a job after graduating?
- Does Fanshawe help with job placements or connections, or are you pretty much on your own?
- What kind of jobs did you get, and how long did it take to find one?
- What are the class timings and weekly schedules like? Is it manageable to work part-time while studying?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your actual experience, especially if you’ve already graduated. I’m just trying to figure out if this program is a good option for getting into hospital administration or other non-clinical healthcare roles.

Thanks! :)

Living in London What's with the smell?

Lately whenever I'm near Fanshawe I notice an intense odour of what I can only assume is sewage. Is it because of the contruction or is it another issue? The stench is terrible 🤢

Current Student No reading week

Am I the only one who is genuinely annoyed about not having a reading week? It allows me as well as many others to catch up, study etc. I’d understand if it was all colleges, or a London thing, but it is just Fanshawe, who makes these decisions? Is there anywhere we can explain or communicate our thoughts on these choices?
