Holy Fuck Man, being chronically online right now and being on the internet basically every day and seeing reactions to GTA6 and Lucia as a playable protagonist has truly reminded me just how racist and misogynistic some parts of the gaming community is.

I've been in the deepest darkest parts of twitter and youtube and the internet and WOW have i seen some of the most schizophrenic takes I've probably ever seen in my whole life.

Some people just do not deserve to have a voice on the internet.

I redesigned Lucia to match my personal taste, so I hope it doesn’t offend anyone. The leaked version also seemed a little over-the-top in the chest department, so I toned that down too. I’m just not sure who that design choice was supposed to appeal to.

GTA 6 Extended Look was captured at 30 FPS as many of us already knew, so I decided to experiment with Veyra to see how much smoother I could make the footage using frame generation.

I managed to interpolate the footage to 60 FPS, 90 FPS and even 180 FPS, which you can see in the video (Description has the raw footage and the GitHub to Veyra)

Can you do this on any console?

Not directly on the console itself. You'll need a capture card to capture footage from your PS5 or Xbox, send it to your PC, and process it using frame generation.

Just to clarify, this isn't native 60, 90 or 180 FPS gameplay. It's interpolated footage, so it won't be representative of how the actual game will perform.

I'm planning to test this with GTA 5 in Fidelity Mode on a base PS5, which runs at 30 FPS.

I'll be using a 4K PCIe capture card from AVerMedia to capture the PS5 footage and feed it into my PC, where I'll use Veyra to interpolate it to higher frame rates.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts:

• Does the footage look noticeably better at 60 FPS?
• Do you think frame generation could be useful for console gaming?
• Would you prefer a native 30 FPS experience or interpolated footage at a higher frame rate?

UPDATE: I tested it with GTA 5 on a base PS5!

Following my GTA 6 frame generation experiment, I decided to try the same thing with GTA 5 running in Fidelity Mode on a base PS5.

I'm using an AVerMedia 4K PCIe capture card (GC571) to capture the gameplay and process it through Veyra on my PC.

The results? The footage looks smoother, but there's a pretty significant downside: I'm experiencing around 1–2 seconds of input lag, which makes the game feel almost unplayable.

My verdict: I'd much rather play at native 4K/30 FPS than sacrifice responsiveness for smoother-looking gameplay. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a good example of how a 30 FPS experience can still be enjoyable.

Frame generation is interesting for experimenting with captured footage, but for actually playing games, the input lag makes this setup impractical.

Michael is not a good protagonist for gta. trevor is probably the best part of gta 5. other than that the shit sucks.franklin is a boring guy that doesn’t represent what a gang member is.

shit is stupid. you start off with Trevor by killing off klebitz in the most stupid way. the players you already met in gta 4 have a weak connection to the story or online with a worser version of themselves

you then do boring heist setups as part of the story.. don’t get it twisted some characters are entertaining like wades cousin and his wife and the Chinese meth suppliers but there’s no context just random characters

five stars is boring and easy to evade.

It's 99% more likely to be a me problem more than a GTA 6 problem, haha. I remember that with GTA 5 it felt like nobody could stop talking about it, Trevor, Michael, and Franklin were everywhere. Advertising was off the wall.

This game feels different and I can't put my finger on it. Like I don't know anything about what I am buying. Even in the trailers the whole thing feels vague...

Granted, my reluctance to buy it is because I do not have a console which means I'm going to have to buy a PS5 + the game. If it was only $80, who gives a shit? But now I feel like I have too much invested into it.

I keep going back and forth on this. Part of me wants to stop watching anything now and just let Leonida surprise me on the 19th. The other part has trailer 2 on basically every evening and keeps spotting stuff I missed.

Also not sure how I'm handling launch week itself. Muting keywords everywhere, or just staying off socials until I've played a few hours?

I pre-ordered the game in 3 different accounts because there was nothing else i could do while waiting for it to come out.

TGG got invited to Rockstar North, probably has a review copy, and seems to be on very good terms with Rockstar.

DarkViperAU however, was not invited to Rockstar North, and probably doesn't have a review copy.

DarkViperAU even have more subs than TGG so he is a bigger GTA YouTuber. DarkViperAU also got his Discord server subpoenaed by Rockstar due to leaks although he had nothing to do with it and I believe he said nothing was even posted on his server by others.

Then I also noticed that DarkViperAU really sucks a lot on Rockstars balls, it seems kinda desperate. Could hint that they in fact never hit him up and it's his dream to be on good terms with them like TGG?

Edit: Also, both are from Australia so even weirder that DarkViperAU wasn't invited to Rockstar North despite having more subs
