Greetings, Vault Dwellers!
Due to the massive increase in popularity of the Fallout IP resulting from the success of the TV show's second season, there has been logical increase in Fallout cosplay content.
While most of the Fallout cosplay we've seen has been from genuine fans who abide by our rules, we have been troubled by the intrusion of cosplay posts from OnlyFans promotion accounts. Many such posts have been made by bot spam rings promoting "models" on OF and other subscription-based adult content platforms.
We want to be clear that cosplay is welcome on r/Fallout, so long as it follows our rules, especially the rule regarding self-promotion.
Cosplay for the sake of cosplay, with a direct connection to Fallout, is still very welcome here.
Cosplay which serves as an implicit or explicit promotion of adult content is not welcome here. Additionally, generative AI content, including generative AI "cosplay" content, is not welcome here.
We are very thankful that we have such a diligent community that swiftly reports cosplay posts which violate our rules. As a result of these reports, we have been able to remove the offending content and permanently ban accounts which egregiously violate our rules, enacting special filters against additional accounts within the spam networks.
If a cosplay post is up for a good while, the odds are good that the user is in good standing and their post is valid, so please remember our civility rule and do not abuse these community members simply because you dislike cosplay and/or have strong opinions on the influx of new and renewed interest in the IP.
Remember to check your rads, drink more water, and get sleep when you can. We'll all be okie doke.
Signed,

I used to be hesitant on the idea of personalized vehicles in Fallout. But as time goes on, I think it would be such a natural evolution of exploration in a Fallout game.
It's a little Mad Max-esque and a much better way to take your inventory on the go.

I’ll never forget the feeling of leaving Vault 101 for the first time and realizing I had an entire wasteland to explore…more importantly, at my own pace!
My favorite moment in gaming.
I’d love to hear everyone’s favorite memory from playing Fallout 3!
Hopefully we get that remake soon 🤞🏾

I know how this might sound, but I'm not necessarily talking about modern tacticool armor. I'm talking about more on the lines of something like Retro Tactical. For example, The 1950s Future Soldier concept, it seems like it would be the Perfect blend of Tactical and Retro. And Fallout already has Tactical Armors, such as the Fallout 76 Brotherhood Special Ops Armor. Tactical Armors can Exist in fallout but they just have to be done right and in a way that makes sense. Like, in my head cannon, Bulletproof Vests and Plate Carriers are used heavily in the post war America because of how Mass producible they are amongst the Post War Powers.

I feel like Gunners were suppose to be an evil militarized faction that you can be part of, I mean they had ranks, military discipline, main base and enough firepower that they almost conquered the Boston and they were the main reason why Minute men were wiped out.
It's like they had vision for the Gunners but they replaced them with Brotherhood and the Nuka-world raiders

I was going through my Twitter account, which I haven't been on in ages, and I forgot all the cringe I posted when I was a teenager thinking I was so cool and clever, but I stumbled upon this and got the biggest nostalgia hit; man, I miss being a kid.

Steel + Brahmin troughs in every settlement = raining lead. I thought it would be more complicated. Though settlers now hang out in my bullet factory, rather than the tiki bar & restaurant.

The chest and pauldrons are finished, unfortunately I couldnt find a solution towards making the ocular, along with the piping that makes up the helmet, as i dont have as much time to put stuff like that, along with shopping. High school really doesnt like it when you have personal plans😭😭😭
The helmet went through a plan, but the rest is kind of me bullshitting it as I dont have all the resources to actually make a big looking power armor.
Now, for the paint job.. is what i wonder. Ill let you guys decide what type of color I should make it. Maybe something not over complicated as I dont have all that time to create a nuka cola power armor, as much as that would be absolutely fucking sick!

I actually really like Dead Money. The weapons and armor you get are pretty dang neat (in a more grounded feeling, non-op kind of way), it has my favorite cast of characters in all of the DLCs, and the story is one I consider one of the best in the game.
Really, it's a toss up on which one takes the number 1 spot for best DLC, Dead Money or Lonesome Road.
[Stayed up until 3:30 am making this. It's not the drawing itself (though, deciding on the poses and the embarrassing amount of reworks I had to do didn't help), but the spacing, color balance and all the technical stuff I'm not a huge fan of. Fortunately, unlike other projects I took too long on, I kinda like how this one turned out.]

Just received my security keycard for vault 101. Fallout 3 was my start into the series and remains my favorite!
I remember receiving it for Christmas (i found out early i was getting it) my mom's boyfriend at the time got it for me and said I had to wait till Christmas to play it. That was so hard since he got himself and played it right away. I worked so hard to avoid seeing anything so I could experience it myself.
Exiting the vault for the first time is an experience i wish i could relive today!
I've never had the jones soda till about a week ago and now i want more!
P.S. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME HOW DELICIOUS THIS DRINK IS!?!?!

Many hours were spent wandering the Capital Wasteland, collecting the bobbleheads, finding every unique weapon and armor piece that I could (sorry Smiling Jack, but I love the Terrible Shotgun), completing quests time and time again, and I have never gotten bored. It doesn't matter how long it has been or how many times I have played, I have enjoyed it beyond measure every time. Happy Birthday Fallout 3. You are and will always be my all-time favorite game.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely believe every Fallout game has something worth appreciating, even the most criticized ones.
From the classic isometric games like Fallout 1 and 2, to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, to the more divisive Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, and even the criticized Brotherhood of Steel, to the long forgotten Tatics, I think every entry has something that makes it worthwhile in its own way your money and your time, if you are really willing to do it with an open mind.
Obviously, I'm not blind to the fact they're all equally good or that criticism isn't justified. Every game has flaws, questionable design decisions, missed opportunities, and things that could have been done better. I even agree with quite a few of the criticisms people make about certain entries, after all this opinion comes from a Fallout fan who loves to death Fallout 4, Fallout new vegas and Fallout 2 for its own reasons (and genuinely i just cant decide my favorite between the 3, because all of them are my top one for its own reasons).
But sometimes, I feel like SOME PEOPLE (NOT EVERYONE, I HAVE TO MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR BECAUSE I WAS ALREADY CRITICIZED FOR THIS BEFORE) inside Fallout community can be a little too harsh on some of these games.
Fallout 4 for example, gets criticized for its dialogue system, simplified RPG mechanics, and changes to the formula, but it also offers fantastic exploration, environmental storytelling, gunplay, settlement building, and an incredible amount of replayability, and i need to say, even in its own vanilla game, specially in its survival mode (i have about 2000 hours on it, and half of these hours are un-modded)
Fallout 76 had a pretty rough launch and plenty of legitimate problems, but the updates over the years have made it a much more enjoyable experience, and there's something special about exploring the wasteland with other people, and even if i coudn't play that much after all these years (i only have them on ps4, and honestly i just cant habdlenthe fact that i have to pay to play online) the limited amount of hours i've had with this game, i truly had some fun investing my time on it
Even the older games have their own techinal limitations, but their atmosphere, writing, worldbuilding, and role-playing possibilities are still fantastic, like my favorite older games, Fallout 2 and Fallout new vegas: both have its own technical limitations? Sure. Controls can be a little janky at times? Of course, but still its storytelling, environment, mecanics and such a lot of other things make them one of best games of my ENTIRE LIFE
And honestly, one of the things I love most about Fallout is the modding community. Whether it's restoring cut content, improving mechanics, adding quests, changing the gameplay, or simply making the game more comfortable to play, mods can help you tailor the experience to your preferences. Community-made content has also given games like Fallout 4 even more reasons to revisit them in one of the things i agree in some parts with the community, that is the lore inside the game (FEVer Dreams managed to make Fallout 4 a game with better story, with more lore depth).
And that's before even mentioning the TV series, which has its own charm and has introduced the franchise to a whole new audience, and yes, in my opinion, season 2 can not have the same charm such as season 1, but i still think it have a fun and interesting story to tell in this universe.
Personally, I enjoy pretty much every era of Fallout. I can appreciate the old-school isometric RPGs, spend hundreds of hours in Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and then jump into Fallout 4 or 76 without feeling like I'm betraying what the franchise used to be.
I don't think every Fallout game is a masterpiece. I just think there's a difference between a flawed game and a genuinely bad one.
Sometimes, I wonder if certain entries would be judged a little more fairly if people focused on what they actually bring to the franchise instead of only comparing them to their favorite Fallout, and again, its not everyone on the community, it is about some people that i think its insuferable in some kind of way, im not blind to what people complain about all games, i see the good and bad points of all Fallout media, and honestly, liking all of them by specific reasons don't make me someone with low or no standards.
I'm genuinely interested in hearing different opinions. You don't have to agree with me, because in the end, opinions are all subjective, but personally, im 100% certain that i'll die on this hill.

I’m diving deeper into the history of the franchise and would love to hear from fans who played the classic games (Fallout 1 & 2). I've only played from 3 to current.
How different are the lore, worldbuilding, and overall tone under Bethesda compared to the original Interplay/Black Isle era?
Appreciate any insights!

All of these are made by me, and will be handed out in very limited quantities while I’m visiting Mojave Mayhem 2026! Here’s an overview of each book:
The Deseret Cookbook: a cozy magazine of delicious(?) home-cooked recipes compiled by the head Mormon chef of a budding Utah settlement
How To Stop Being Dog-Ass at Caravan: self explanatory. A Caravan for dummies style book that holds the hand of the reader through the intricacies of the card game no one knows how to play
The Followers Field Manual for Disease: A meticulous medical document giving overviews of the symptoms, treatment, and prognosis of all of the diseases from Fallout 76 and more!!
The Legion Reclamation Campaign: A short military scouting report that ties into the lore of the Fallout TV show, outlining how Legate Lanius’ forces plan to re-take territory of a legion fort that defected and pledged allegiance to the Lacerta Legate (Macaulay Culkin’s character).
I’ve put well over a hundred hours into each of these books, so I’m very excited to show them to the world. They are all meticulously researched to be lore friendly, entertaining, and as factual as possible! I’ll be handing these out for caps/bartering (NO PREWAR MONEY ACCEPTED) at Junc Alley. So if you see a big and tall girl in a followers of the apocalypse coat, that’s probably me!!

How long did it take you to realize that the Enclave is probably the most f---ed-up faction in the entire Fallout universe?
Back when I was a kid (yes, I've been playing Fallout since I was a kid. Don't ask too many questions), I remember playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I know those games inside and out, but I was never particularly invested in the lore, like reading wikis or Terminals, I was more interested in exploring locations and piecing things together myself.
Because of that, I always saw the Enclave as some kind of Brotherhood of Steel variant, a bunch of elite enemies, or just another faction you had to deal with.
It wasn't until I was over 20 and gave Fallout 2 a quick playthrough that I finally understood what these guys were really about. They're a bunch of eugenicist assholes who want to wipe out every single wastelander because, in their eyes, they're genetically inferior. These guys are EVIL on a planetary scale.
And honestly, the fact that the more recent games seem to push them aside feels like a missed opportunity.
I'm playing through Fallout 4 for the first time ever right now, and the Enclave feels like such wasted potential in that game. Fallout 4 is all about hope, building settlements, and rebuilding the Commonwealth. You'd think the final arc could revolve around confronting the Enclave, a faction whose entire ideology goes against everything the people of the Commonwealth are trying to achieve.
Imagine spending the whole game helping people rebuild their lives, only to discover that there's a group out there that wants to wipe it all away. They'd come in hot for your settlements and even attack the main cities. That would've been an amazing conflict.
Anyway, I think their depiction in the Fallout TV show is great, even if they're not always directly in your face.
They even go out of their way to make Hank, which is revealed to be a Enclave Acolyte, one of the main antagonists of Season 2, tying him to the Enclave's ideology. This also connects back to the very first episode and the lore bit that the Enclave was behind the whole concept of the vaults in the first place.
I think that's some genuinely good storytelling. Even for people who haven't played the games, the show does a great job building up these ideas without needing to explain every single detail of the lore.
The show has it rough patches, but at times it feels they couldnt make a better fallout tv series.
Honestly, my expectations for Season 3 are probably way too high now, there's so much potential.
