Education Concerns about youth radicalization in Malaysia from a student's perspective
With the rise of school violence cases in Malaysia - I have started to grow concerned due to my status as a student and the possible risks I could be facing. Not only that - It was recently discovered within my own school that a boy had attempted and failed to stab another student. Due to this, I have started researching about recent school violence cases; notably the notorious ones such as the Bandar Utama case, and the recent case in Kuching. (may the victims of these cases rest in peace.)
While researching, I found a common denominator in both cases - and it is that both perpetrators engage in a online subculture, nameably the true crime community. If you are unaware, the true crime community is a community that idolizes perpetrators of violent crime and school violence such as Adam Lanza, Elliot Rodgers, and so on. Both of the perpetrators mimic the behaviors of these individuals, writing manifestos and making references to school shooters within the community - and adopting white supremacist ideas such as natural selection.
One of the other main ideas of this community is that majority of the individuals within in engage in western radical extremist ideology such as Neo-Nazism and fascism. The reason that this stood out to me is because of the notable rise that I've observed in students engaging in fascist ideology in my own school; with a student even going as far to set their profile picture as the Nazi swastika, this happened previously - yet I never saw anything being done about it, with the student simply changing their profile picture without any consequences. Not only that, a different student yelled out "All Hail Hitler" in class and nobody showed a visible reaction.
This makes me wonder, what could have caused the rise of the amount of youths being radicalized towards western extremist ideology and thought in Malaysia? Am I overreacting? Has this been happening in classrooms of other students in Malaysia? I would like to hear the opinions of other Malaysians regarding this issue.

Economy & Finance Is Living Alone Worth the Extra Cost, or Is Sharing an Apartment Better?
Hi everyone! I’ll be moving to KL soon for work, and I’m trying to decide whether to rent a room in a shared apartment or get my own studio.
I enjoy cooking and having my own space, but I also want to be practical with my finances and save money.
For those of you who live in KL, especially those who have experience living independently, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Is it better to share an apartment to save money, or is living alone worth the extra cost for privacy and peace of mind?
I’d also like to know how much you typically spend on rent, groceries, and utilities, and whether sharing an apartment has been a good experience for you.
I’m just trying to make the best decision for my budget and lifestyle, so I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank you!

Asyraf said the council had also directed all party machinery and supporters to give their full backing to PN candidates contesting in the election.
It also agreed that Barisan Nasional (BN) and PN would introduce a joint election manifesto outlining their commitments to the people of Melaka.

Others Crypto cards in Malaysia?
Is anyone here using crypto cards in Malaysia? Looking for a way to pay with crypto at regular stores without having to manually convert it to MYR or cash out through an exchange every time. Are there any crypto cards that actually work in Malaysia for everyday stuff like groceries, restaurants or shopping?
Anyone tried this? What's the easiest option?

Others Malaysia vs Singapore: who wins what, from 482 comments and videos [OC]
I had AI read 482 Reddit comments and TikTok and YouTube content about Malaysia vs Singapore.
It’s a side project. I scored the 10 comparisons where 8 or more picked a country or said both are the same. These are people arguing online, not a survey.
What I found:
- Malaysia wins local food, 44 to 4, and stronger flavour, 13 to 0.
- Even on Singapore’s own subreddits, 14 of 17 who picked a country picked Malaysian food.
- Singapore wins chicken rice, 14 to 1. On Malaysia’s subreddits, all 9 who picked a side gave it to Singapore.
- Singapore also wins getting around (9 to 2) and international restaurants (11 to 1). 8 comments say Singapore gets the credit abroad for dishes both countries share, and 0 say Malaysia.
- JB (Johor Bahru, just across the border) is still cheaper, 31 to 4. Groceries come up most.
- Char kway teow is a 9 to 9 tie. Penang fans want it smoky, Singapore fans want it sweet.
- Roti canai or prata? 11 of 13 say it’s the same bread, so it’s a draw.
- Pay or life? The biggest group, 15, says it depends. Another 13 pick Malaysia’s life and 7 Singapore’s pay, not enough for a win.
- Final score: Singapore 4 rounds, Malaysia 3, and 3 draws.
How I did it: AI read each comment for the side it takes, its reason and an exact quote. Code found every quote and did the counting. A second AI read checked 40 sides and agreed on 38. A round counts as a win when one side has at least twice the other. Comments run from 2017 to 2026, mostly 2022 on.
Which round did it get wrong?

History TIL that in 1993, a failed Malaysian pop singer-turned-shaman named Mona Fandey murdered a politician during a fake "money-falling" ritual where she promised him invincibility. She then went on a luxury shopping spree and got a facelift before being executed.
