To spare the sub from becoming 99% unsubstantiated rumors and hypothetical trades again, the Speculation Slop Megathread has been reinstated.
The facts, as we know them:
Quintin Jerome Hughes, traded to the Minnesota Wild on December 12th of 2025, has a contract that goes through the end of the 2026-2027 season, and will become a UFA if not extended. The Wild have been in talks with Hughes, and Hughes has not outright said he will not extend, but has also not signed his extension. With the new CBA rules, Quinn is eligible to sign a 7 year extension with the Wild or a 6 year extension with any other team. If he signs this year, his maximum cap hit could be $20.8 million, and if he signs in the summer, that number increases to $22.7 million. The team states that they have no indication that Hughes will not sign, and Hughes has not stated any intention to leave.
Dylan Larkin has requested a trade from the Detroit Redwings. He presented a limited trade list to the team, which was stated to include the Minnesota Wild. The former Red Wings GM, Steve Yzerman, refused to trade him, including turning down a direct offer from Bill Guerin. Yzerman has since been fired, and interim GM Shawn Horcroff has requested an additional list of teams from Larkin, which have been reportedly expanded to 10 teams, still including the Wild.
HAS QUINN SIGNED YET? NO.
HAS THERE BEEN A BIG TRADE? NO.

Yes. Pretty much everything.
After years of Bally Sports North/FanDuel Sports Network, the Minnesota Wild have a completely new local broadcast setup for the 2026/27 season.
The Wild have launched Wild+, a team-owned and operated television network that is now the official local television home of the Wild. Most importantly for cord-cutters, Prime Video is now the exclusive streaming distributor for Wild+ within the Wild's local broadcast territory.
The Wild will also continue to have a number of games exclusively televised nationally by ESPN, ABC, TNT and ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu.
So let's break down how to actually watch the Wild this year.
The first step is determining whether you are in-market or out-of-market for the Wild.
The easiest way to check is to use the Wild's ZIP-code lookup: Wild broadcast information
Wild+ is now the primary way to watch the Wild locally.
For most cord-cutters, Wild+ on Prime Video is probably the simplest option.
ESPN is now the primary way to watch out-of-market Wild games.
The playoff broadcast situation is a little different because many games are carried exclusively by national networks.
Wild+ will carry locally televised First Round playoff games. Games selected for national exclusivity will be available through the appropriate national broadcaster.
We'll update this section when the playoff schedule and broadcast assignments are announced.
As a last resort, you could always "sail the high seas."
Note that it is against Reddit's content policy (and this subreddit's rules) to post links to illegal streams. Posts/comments discussing specific pirating methods will be removed and you may be banned. If you'd like to explore further I am sure you could PM some of the fine folks in this subreddit who can point you in the right direction.
The answer depends on what country you live in, as NHL broadcast rights vary by market.
For most international fans, NHL.TV is now available through DAZN. NHL.TV on DAZN includes live and on-demand NHL games, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Final.
The full list of countries where NHL.TV is available, along with country-specific viewing information, can be found here:
If you're an international fan, let us know what country you're watching from in the comments. Broadcast rights vary quite a bit from country to country, so other fans in the same country may be able to help with the best option.
If you're in the Wild's local market:
If you're out of market:
It would especially be helpful to hear from people using Wild+ through Prime Video, Fubo, cable/satellite or an antenna.
This will serve as the main guide to watching the Wild for the 2026/27 season. Updates will be made as needed. There is a link in the sidebar (old Reddit), top menu (new Reddit), and community info menu (mobile). Separate posts on the topic throughout the season will be removed and directed here.
LGW!

This is insane. We joke about Kaprizov’s 17 AAV being a steal(I mean it almost already seems like it) but if the cap ceiling hits $150, it 100% will be when people start signing 25 million dollar contracts.

This is from a Score article where they're looking for awards favorites and such. Obviously McDavid is unanimous with the Hart trophy but for Vezina? Come on man!!! Two of the four columnists don't even rank Jesper in their top 3! Obviously still quite early in the season, but put some respect on his name!

Sharing a Clayton Stoner 2011-12 game-used jersey I picked up.
It showed signs of use, so I was confident it was game used.
I had some free time, so I decided to do some digging and was able to find a match.
Photomatched to a game against the New Jersey Devils on December 2, 2011.
I love how these red jerseys look with the logo on the front!

I read on every board that MN has a huge glaring problem because they don't have a legit center. (I get it in this subreddit because it is our team but it is crazy to me that everywhere across the league this is all people talk about). So I would like some insight from people that probably know more than me:
Does any team not have a weakness? I feel that there is no perfect team. So why is our "center problem" such a bigger flaw than the fact that every team is not going to be stacked on all fronts.
Why does JEEK not get more credit? He is the center for the top line in the NHL right now.
Has there ever been a time in MN history that we have had better centers?
For any baseball fans, I see some interesting similarities between the Wild being told they can't win a Stanley Cup without a legitimate top center and the Brewers being told last year that they couldn't be serious World Series contenders without acquiring an established pitcher like Tarik Skubal. They didn't get him, they beat the Dodgers, and pretty sure they might win the World Series.

SALT LAKE CITY — The matchup between the two top teams in the Central Division certainly lived up to the hype, with a highly entertaining, intense game in the Minnesota Wild’s 3-1 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday at the Delta Center.
After all, who had Matt Boldy and Danila Yurov both fighting and three fights overall on their bingo card?
The Wild (9-3-2) finished their five-game road trip with three straight wins, going 3-1-1 overall to give them a Western Conference-leading 20 points. Kirill Kaprizov scored his 14th goal in the team’s first 14 games; the only other players in the past 30 years (since 1996-97) with more goals through their first 14 games are Simon Gagné (16 in 2005-06), Auston Matthews (15 in 2018-19) and Leon Draisaitl (15 in 2021-22).
Max Shabanov and Joel Eriksson Ek also scored for the Wild.
Goalie Jesper Wallstedt once again played like one of the league’s top goalies. He wasn’t challenged a ton early, with the Wild holding Utah to just nine shots through two periods. But Wallstedt had many timely saves, especially when it was a close game. The Mammoth didn’t score until under two minutes left in regulation, when Logan Cooley picked up a goal while Utah had an extra attacker.

I was thinking how a lot of players in the league never name St. Paul as a favorite visiting city to play in. Is part of that hotel options, food options, environment, etc. Then the question popped up of where do they even stay? Downtown St. Paul or commute from a higher end hotel in Minneapolis? I never see opposing teams in the community here.

This may be a reach but I am looking for a Spurgeon Winter Classic jersey. Love our cap and was at the game but didn’t wait the hour+ in the cold to get one. Haven’t seen one on EBay in a while. Any other places I can browse for legit jerseys second hand?
