34 Upvotes

The Termux php package version 8.5.12 has been released to fix the 2 remote code vulnerabilities made public today. Check https://www.php.net/archive/2026.php#2026-10-21-5 for more info.

Users are advised to immediately update to the fixed version 8.5.12.

You can run pkg install php to update the package (or apt upgrade && apt install php). If your packages repository mirror hasn't been synced yet and does not show the 8.5.12 version, you can try other mirrors by using termux-change-repo. The default cloudflare or the primary Termux repository packages.termux.dev under single mirrors should have the required version.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Security Advisory for ca-certificates package

44 Upvotes

The Termux ca-certificates and ca-certificates-java package versions 1:2026.10.20 have been released to revoke the compromised eMudhra intermediate certificate authority keys. If you use glibc repo, update the ca-certificates-glibc package as well. Check https://emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com for more info.

Users are advised to immediately update to the fixed version 1:2026.10.20. An attacker with the private key of any of the compromised intermediate CAs could impersonate any website or service.

You can run pkg install ca-certificates to update the package (or apt upgrade && apt install ca-certificates). If your packages repository mirror hasn't been synced yet and does not show the 1:2026.10.20 version, you can try other mirrors by using termux-change-repo. The default cloudflare or the primary Termux repository packages.termux.dev under single mirrors should have the required version.

Android chrome browser seems to have revoked the certificates remotely. Android firefox browser is currently still affected, but releases are underway.

Android apps that use Android system certificates should also be affected. The emSign ECC Root CA - G3 certificate and other emSign certificates can be disabled from Android Settings -> Trusted Credentials -> System.

Some orgs are disabling emSign ECC Root CA - G1 as well, firefox and chrome currently are not (1, 2). Android system certificates include 4 certificates by emSign, only G3 would need to be disabled to be consistent with chrome/firefox, but you can disable all 4.

On (older) Android versions, the Comodo CA Limited AAA Certificate Services certificate should also be disabled if it is listed in trusted credentials. Android should list 3 other credentials from Comodo which are safe. In the "Are there workarounds for Linux?" section of https://emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com, the "Comodo_AAA_Services_root" certificate is also disabled for Ubuntu and Debian. Check https://gist.github.com/UlisesGascon/10ed0724930e5382b3ed48fa2b0d3e02 for why. The AAA Certificate Services was also distrusted long ago for other reasons and likely removed in newer Android versions. (1)

Question I got Ghidra's native ARM64 decompiler working on native Termux (Android) — looking for feedback

8 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been experimenting with getting Ghidra's native decompiler working on native Termux on Android ARM64, without using a proot Linux environment.

I created an experimental project that automates downloading Ghidra, building its native components, and setting up a headless analysis workflow.

What currently works:

Ghidra's headless launcher starts in native Termux.

ARM64 ELF binaries can be imported and analyzed.

The native ARM64 decompiler components build successfully.

A smoke test successfully generates C-like pseudocode.

Project:

https://github.com/aliasnull/Ghidra-Termux-ARM64

Current limitations:

Tested on one rooted Android ARM64 device.

GUI support is untested.

Compatibility with other devices and configurations is not yet established.

A prebuilt package is not available yet; installation currently builds the native components locally.

I'd appreciate feedback from anyone familiar with Ghidra, Termux, or Android ARM64 development.

A few questions:

Would a prebuilt package be useful, so users don't need to compile the native components themselves?

What compatibility issues should I investigate before publishing one?

Would anyone be interested in testing this on a different ARM64 Android device?

This is an experimental community project, so I'd welcome constructive criticism and suggestions. Thanks!

General Termux:API mentioned in GitHub CLI login

3 Upvotes

I installed GitHub CLI (gh) in Debian on PC and went to login.

During login I noticed Termux:API mentioned and took me by surprise. Are there a lot of people using the package in Termux, or some GitHub dev happens to be using Termux enough that they thought it'd be a good idea to mention it?

Do you automate GitHub releases via Termux?

``` user@host:~$ gh auth login ? Where do you use GitHub? GitHub.com ! Did you know that expiring tokens can be requested with --expiring? Read more at https://gh.io/gh-expiring-tokens ? How would you like to authenticate GitHub CLI? Login with a web browser ? What is your preferred protocol for Git operations on this host? HTTPS ? Authenticate Git with your GitHub credentials? Yes
! Failed to copy one-time code to clipboard No clipboard utilities available. Please install xsel, xclip, wl-clipboard or Termux:API add-on for termux-clipboard-get/set. ... ```
Este test me sorprendió porque Lorica no esta enfocada en el rendimiento sino en la compatibilidad
Si alguien quiere probarlo la compilación es sencilla y la configuración es automática
Hello,
I'm trying to uninstall samsung store as my first step into cleaning up and removing bloat from my phone that needs root. I have a samsung galaxy s25+ and I've got it nice so far, using brave for default browser, YouTube etc, and things that can be uninstalled are gone. I have kernelSU set up, shell UID 2000 and termux set to root. I am trying to setup wireless debugging but I am getting stuck. Please help.
Question Me preguntaba si seria posible algo así:
0 Upvotes
Modificar el código open source de Termux para declarar permisos adicionales en su AndroidManifest.xml, recompilarlo y firmarlo con mi propia clave, y después, con un enfoque parecido al de Shizuku, usar la depuración inalámbrica de Android desde el propio Termux (ADB por localhost) para concederle esos permisos, siempre que sean de los que ADB puede otorgar.
Question How do you organize multiple projects in Termux?
0 Upvotes
I've been using Termux for Python and Node.js projects on Android. When I start working on several projects, keeping everything organized can get a bit messy.
Do you usually keep each project in its own folder and manage dependencies separately, or do you have another way of organizing everything?
I'm interested in setups that stay manageable on a phone.
Before, my project with python always start with making a server, then built the ui using HTML, CSS and JavaScript then run it using browser. A while a go, after talking to my brother about the android app I build before using python, I just remember, "wait, I can use termux-x11 to display my python project". and now here I'm posting this here. PS: I'm no composer, just made those sound for sample. The app is Audio Sequencer, my latest projet.
Barely Termux related Fork bomb!!
5 Upvotes
I have heard many times about fork bomb in linux,
I was just curious to actually see what will happen when it runs
I thought if it will work on temrux android will probably kill it like process 9 complete exit iykyk..
I ran and like phone became unresponsive in 3 sec and completely crashed whole system , i dont know if it was android or general way of os to reslove this types of issues
But device automatically restarted ( power off + power on)
And phone became completely hot 😭 and I suddenly was scared it won't cause any problem to phone right
And now I am actually really scared to run random scripts and apps into system like if we dont know what exactly they are doing underhood 😵‍💫😵‍💫 unless we read scripts or app is compiled from opensrc which we have readed/ trusted
NEW TRUST ISSUES BEGINS
