The videos on the web site look like it was fun, in 2012. Is it still popular, or what is the vibe? I'm going to be in Stockholm for work, and I wonder if this is worth doing...and then flying back to Stockholm from Helsinki after the cruise is finishes.

Hi! Can anyone suggest any cool furniture and/or home decor shops in Stockholm? My style preference is mostly mid century modern but open to anything besides minimalistic and gray. Thanks!

I must preface by saying that even though I lived in Stockholm for a while, I'm not living there currently, but I plan on getting back there when the chance arrives. So currently, it would be great if I get to know some people online and hopefully make some friends, and if I ever move to Stockholm, it can be an irl friendship.
I live in a small town up in Västerbotten where everybody knows everybody, and even though everyone is friendly enough, I couldn't really break through and connect with anyone, it kinda feels like the outsider, which is understandable in a setting like this. With moving to a completely new country, most of my connections back home died out unfortunately, so some connection to the world would be nice.
So I thought I'd jump here and try my luck, maybe I'll make a friend or two - fingers crossed - and at the same time I am trying to pivot from being a developer to a UX designer, and I start working on some projects, and my current circle isn't interested in hearing about it, and I thought it would be good to have someone who shares my interest in thing and just talk about things I'm learning or things they're working on, so if you're in UX or studying it, we already have somethings to talk about. I guess at this point I must say a little about myself, so here goes nothing!
I'm Taro. I'm 37, I’m into good stories in pretty much any form: books, movies, anime, and anything in between. Some of my favorite shows are Lost, Dexter, Game of Thrones, House, Breaking Bad, Shogun, Chornobyl, The Office, Seinfeld, Rome, Mindhunter, My Name Is Earl, Fringe, The IT Crowd, Densha Otoko, and Binbo danshi, and I’m a big fan of anime and manga like Berserk, Monster, Psycho-Pass, DBZ, One Piece, Samurai Champloo, Dorohedoro, FMA, Frieren, Vinland Saga, Hajime no Ippo, Mushishi, Maison Ikkoku, GTO, Welcome to the N.H.K, Hellsing, Blood+, Nana, Dr. Stone, Vampire Hunter D, and Slam Dunk. For books, I love Stephen King and Haruki Murakami, and I’ve reread The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho more than once, it’s one of those books that feels different each time. Some of my favorite books are The Sandman Slim series, If Cats Disappeared From The World, The Jack Reacher series, Project Hail Mary, No Longer Human, Black Farm, Dispatch, The Three-Body Problem, Mistborn, Lord of the Flies, and I Am Legend. Movies-wise, I like No Country for Old Men, Tropic Thunder, Prisoners, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Mist, Room, Blade Runner, The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Seven, Life of PI, Parasite, House of Sand and Fog, The Cornetto Trilogy, Wasabi, Battle Royale, Ju-On, I Saw the Devil, Memories of Murder, Exit 8, Oldboy, John Wick, Dark Water, P.S. I Love You, The Babadook, Braveheart, Catch Me If You Can, Mad Max: Fury Road, A Quiet Place, Gone Girl, Hector and the Search for Happiness, Hachi and The Big Lebowski to name a few, and The Last Samurai, which is an all-time favorite.
Sometimes I write, and I'm learning to play the guitar (I enjoy the process), and I love music in general. I listen to everything from rock and metal to blues and classical, from Tool to Mozart, as well as OSTs. My favorite composer is Hans Zimmer. I also love long walks, especially in the forest, and I’d like to get back into gaming when I have more time. I used to play offline, story-driven games such as Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us, Child of Light, The Witcher, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider reboot, Castlevania, Devil May Cry, Tekken, and Age of Empires.
I just enjoy learning new things whenever I can. I also have an interest in photography, psychology, and philosophy, and I have always liked mysteries and dark stories.
When it comes to personality, I’d say I have a pretty dark sense of humor. I like having fun, sharing memes, joking around, and having silly conversations, but I think I enjoy deeper, more meaningful talks even more. I think discussing ideas with others is one of the best ways to understand ourselves and what we believe, because it challenges your own way of thinking and helps you see things from new perspectives.
P.S. I borrowed the about me part from another post. It's not that I'm being lazy, it is just hard to try and reduce one's identity and personality into a few paragraphs.
So if you're interested, I'd be happy and honored to chat with you, and my DM is open.

Hello! I’m a recent UK graduate from Durham University hoping to find a job in Stockholm. As a UK citizen, I know I’ll need a work permit and would love advice on how realistic this is for a recent graduate. Are there particular industries, companies or graduate schemes worth targeting, especially those that recruit English-speaking candidates and are willing to sponsor visas? I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has made a similar move!
