Hi everyone
I've recently returned to Rs3 to test out the waters and wanted to share my experience with the game so far
First of all, the game has a definite charm to it. Most skills have plenty of methods to train them and explore with different intensities, and i found myself having a great time learning how to play the game again (except for you crafting, nobody likes you).
The afk training of most of them just feels wonderful and rewarding and in contrast to old school's tedious grinds for the sake of just being tedious, the game feels like progression is very much attainable.
I particularly loved doing construction using the fort, the new mining and smithing rework (hopefully ours will also be great) and thieving, which honestly seems to be best skill in the game currently (maybe a bit too good, i'm afraid of actually getting to 120 since i won't feel like i have any reason to train it anymore but heists are so much fun and)
The quests are amazing and i'm trying to follow a semi true timeline challenge in order to actually understand the story and experience it properly (very glad you guys plan on addressing it soon since it's in a bit of a mess right now to actually follow the plot)
One thing that i really want to address though is the constant annoyances of dailies, weeklies and holiday items that bombard you everywhere you go - even when i'm playing an ironman (btw) i'm constantly getting daily challenges, the dream of Iaia, the holiday event spam in my inventory (is there any way to turn these off completely? They're driving me nuts), ports, and a ton of weeklies and monthlies that just don't really sit right with me.
I must admit that i was a bit disappointed with the cancelation of reignited, although i get why it didn't sit right with the players it sounded nice mostly since i just cba to interact with all this clutter and i really hope that at the very least they will give us something to toggle all these off so i don't ever need to see them again.
All in all the game is a ton of fun, am currently grinding gwd1 in order to prepare myself for Araxxor and start learning some new pvm challenges
Really looking forward to plugins and this new era of Runescape, hopefully the golden age of Jagex is on the horizon and not just Osrs
Cheers
