Brayden Yager picked up where he left off, Lucas Wahlin had a strong game and Domenic DiVincentiis made 34 saves for his second shutout of the season.

With the victory Manitoba improves to 7-2-0-0 on the season and remain undefeated in the Central (except against Grand Rapids). They've now won three times against Chicago, twice against Texas and twice against Iowa.

This team is kinda unstoppable right now.

Had surgery today for a lower-body injury. Moose head coach Mark Morrison described the procedure as a “small operation” and said it was “nothing too serious,” but confirmed Walton would be sidelined for four to six weeks.

It was an excellent goalie matchup as Postava and DiVincentiis were both excellent in this hockey game.

The Moose completed a season-opening sweep of the Chicago Wolves with an 8-3 win on Sunday afternoon, improving to 2-0-0 while outscoring the defending Western Conference champions 11-3 over the weekend. Brayden Yager led the way with two goals and three points, while Alfons Freij and Davis Burnside scored their first AHL and pro goals respectively.

Quite the first game of the season. The Moose and Wolves played a back and forth game which saw both clubs seize momentum for a stretch during the course of the hockey game. However, Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis was excellent in goal, prospect Kevin He made history, a bunch of the kids had very good games, played different roles.

The Moose announced their 26-player opening roster ahead of Saturday’s season opener against Chicago, featuring 10 Jets draft picks and eight rookie skaters, including Kevin He and Kieron Walton.

It’s been almost seven years since the Manitoba Moose played a pre-season game against another AHL team.

That changes this season, which is good news for the Moose as they’ll finally get a chance to prepare against a similar level of competition.

The pride of Foxwarren, Manitoba, will be back for his fourth season in antlers as the Moose have signed Dawson Barteaux to a one-year contract for the upcoming season. The right-shot defenceman played 32 games in the AHL last season and 20 in the ECHL.

It's a two-year AHL deal.

Mayo appeared in 82 NHL games with Arizona over the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, recording four goals and eight assists. Most of his professional career has been spent in the AHL with Tucson, Henderson and, most recently, Cleveland, where he had three goals and 26 assists for 29 points in 59 games with the Monsters last season. He did play three games with the Blue Jackets last season.

The Moose will need a new captain as the Alberta product returns to the only other hockey home he's known as a pro.

The Moose made a pair of moves this morning, signing defenceman Ashton Sautner and forward Tyson Empey to AHL deals.

Winnipegger Reece Vitelli is off to Sweden next season after wearing antlers for two campaigns.

He will play alongside Jets prospect Viktor Klingsell (2025 5th), who will spend next season on loan with Kalmar.

It’s time of the year where guys start to sign overseas.

Swedish mafia down one as Samuel Fagemo heads back home to Frölunda on a three-year deal. He won a championship with them in 2018-19.
