It's for a future layout, but I snapped up the chance to get myself an M250 Super Rail in N scale. It doesn't match the vibe of my desktop loop/test track layout at all, but it's still a joy to see it going around the curves.

The majority of the work on my narrow gauge railbus is complete, although I do need to add a driver and a couple of passengers.
The body is a 3D print by T&S Models, running on the inevitable Kato 109 chassis. I decided to finish my bus as a Deutsche Reichbahn machine, adding a scratchbuilt roof rack and access ladders. Reichbahn decals from TL Modelbau.

Today I have the pleasure of showing off my two beautiful Changming N scale models the one in red is the HXD3D 1921 Communist Party Locomotive
And the blue and white one is HXD3B 1893 āMao Zedongā
both fitted with DCC sound. I had them running on the test layout for a few hours and everything went smoothly, the level of detail on these models is simply incredible better than any detail on any model from the west I have seen.
The overall engineering of these models is quite simple they have a coreless motor with two flywheels all wheel pickup for steady power pickup, and only 18 wheels are geared for driving the models. Both have traction tires fitted to one wheel on each bogie, they feature a surprisingly heavy (when compared to other locos of similar size in n scale) diecast chassis. The model features cab lighting that is tied into the main top headlight as well as independent lighting controls for the tail lights and low level headlights on both models
The Electronics side of the model is also impressive as the pcb is held to the model by screw, the wiring is not soldered directly to the PCB instead Changming uses a plug to connect everything up making removing the pcb to fit a decoder and speaker easy
One thing to note about DCC fitting, on most Changming models I have encountered the space for a decoder and speaker is on the underside of the pcb so to fit all that you need to take the model to bits practically.
Over all performance of these models out of the box (DC) is superb the motor were quite and they crawled excellently only issue I had was when climbing a 1% gradient the pipe work and some underside detail wast to happy with the joins in the track
But other than that 10/10 will be buying more in future
(The layout name is a work in progress)

n scale . esp32 running two 76x284 res screens makes up the elevator. Disco lights are the rgb led built into the Waveshare esp32 1.47ā. Those neon looking pieces are cob filament symbols. Mosfet on the way to program them to look like old flickering, defective, neon signs.

Update on my layout for anyone interested.
Several weeks in and my benchwork is nearly complete. Already tired of crawling under so I invested in 2 lift out Truss Bridges. Just have to finish my cuts under the bridges and then on to some grass & sand mats along with proper supports as well as appropriate incline/decline degrees. Still hoping to be running trains by Christmas.

I think the bug car (bottom) is the overall best

I recently bought an esu sound decoder and the listing included 2 of what seems to be mƤrklin decoders (they look remarkably similar to the mld/3 but not an exact match), do any of you experts know what they could be specifically.

This is my bachmann gondola from the late 80's that I got, I weathered it around 2 months ago and have been adding parts to it since. It's where I keep parts and tools. Mostly couplers except for the wire that I use to connect a knuckle coupler and a horn hook coupler.

I've seen reviews about it. Quite good looking locomotive, new version is easy to fit DCC.
But seems like its valve gear is very fragile, and I have seen lots of locomotives with broken rods on ebay(including same company's BR 18.1/Wurttemberg type C).
Since Lemke released last batch of locomotive around 2016/17, and spare parts are gone now.
Still waiting for Lemke's re-release of it.

Hey everyone. I grew up in Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee Road was the primary railroad rolling through my hometown, so Iām looking to capture some of that nostalgia.
I don't have the room for a full layout right now, but I do have a 6-foot long shelf where Iād like to display a high-quality consist. While it will just be a static display for now, I hope to build a layout someday, so I am specifically looking for DCC-equipped locomotives. Because this will sit at eye level, I am heavily prioritizing premium detail and accuracy over budget.
What brands offer the best detailing and a solid, currently available selection of N scale Milwaukee Road locomotives and rolling stock? I'm looking for higher-end models and would prefer to buy new rather than hunting down out-of-production items on eBay.

Good morning! Iām very much a beginner in the model train world. I have some basic knowledge but I have a few questions regarding DC vs DCC. I apologize if these are stupid questions. Which is typically the easiest to wire and set up? What are the pros/cons of each type? Is DC outdated compared to DCC? I have looked it up online but Iād like to hear from people who have actually worked with it before. Thank you!

Iāve always loved the design of the S1, and was disappointed there werenāt any āaffordableā ones on the market. So, I waited and waited, and a few years ago Broadway announced they were making their own S1. And after years of waiting, itās finally here⦠and wow, itās huge. Itās HO scale, but itās nearly twenty inches long. So, I get why some companies were hesitant to make a new one.
Sadly, I donāt have the scale for a proper layout for it (or the room and money to buy more trains), so for now my S1 will be a shelf queen until I can get one of those treadmill tracks or find a train club that would let me run the S1.
(The tiny S1 next to it is a Micro Machine, I felt it was fitting to take pictures of them side-by-side)

Iāve been wondering this for a while and was hoping someone could confirm. The blue printed numbers at the top of the manual 34 and 05 are these the manufacturing date? I can only assume 05 is 2005 given the memory card with Mallard, is that correct and what is 34?
