Hi.
I’m looking for some advice on how to elevate my living room, which also includes my dining area. I feel like the space might have potential?? But I’m not quite sure what’s missing or what I could change to make it look and feel more put together. Let me know your thoughts❤️ J

Advice Redditors of r/malelivingspace, I need your advice. What should I do with this wall?

I have this wall in my living room and I don't really know what to do with it. It is about 3.69 meters in length, so there's plenty of space to use but I don't know for what. That's why I thought that one of guys might have a good idea and I could gather a few suggestions in this thread that might lead to something.

So what would you do with that wall?

Additional information:

  • That mirror belongs to my sister and will not stay there forever. It's only a temporary solution.
  • I added a picture of the rest of the room for some context. I know that this part still needs some work as well, but at least I have some ideas for that and I'm currently looking into that (this includes plants and pictures).

My old Room in a shared Flat Dubai (Emirates Crew)

Since I resigned from Emirates, I had to move out of my flat as well.
That’s the last pictures I have on my phone. No pictures of my flat mates room or bathroom and also non of the living room anymore.

The dark brown furniture and bed was given by emirates and couldn’t be replaced.

Need some help.

So, I am rooming with three other people in this house and I have my own room to keep my stuff in. (We share a kitchen and common area). The issue is that I have not found a good way to layout this room because of it's weird construction. (Door placement and how the closet isn't recessed into a wall but protruding out into the space.

So I guess I am asking for advice for what other people have done. Also what should I do about lighting. I'm on an north facing room with an easy window but is mostly blocked by another house

Thanks.

My 40-square-meter apartment. I still remember my first thought when I walked in: this place is bleak. So I painted the walls, collected art, and filled it with plants. Now, it's everything I need.

Is this room cozy or just too dark?

I really like the cozy vibe in here, but on cloudy days or at night it gets pretty dark, like in this pic. I don't feel these floor and wall lamps doing enough.

I've been wondering if I should try brighter bulbs or just add a ceiling light. I still want it to feel cozy, just not this dim all the time lol. What would you even do with this room?

Question Which marble lamp colour would you go with for this kitchen/open-plan space? (White, Black, or Red?)

Hey everyone, looking for some honest opinions on finishing up the kitchen counter area.

I'm trying to keep the overall aesthetic clean, modern, and cohesive without feeling too clinical.

Here is a quick breakdown of the tones and materials already in the space:
Kitchen: Matte grey cabinetry paired with crisp white countertops and a black induction hob.
Flooring: Warm oak-coloured wood flooring.
Accents & Furniture: There are touches of walnut-coloured furniture in the broader room/open layout, plus some natural stone and warm ambient lighting.

I'm in love with this cordless marble-base cylinder lamp for the counter by the window (as seen in the mockup options), but I'm torn on whether White, Black, or Red (burgundy) marble would look best against the grey and white. I feel the red lamp would need accents to tie it in otherwise it will stand out in a bad way. The black is safe but might look too boring. And the white might look too clinical. I want the space to feel warm.

Its a rental so there is limited options to play with the structure of the space. I could upgrade the kitchen towels to something more pleasing. And also some quality wood chopping board.

Would love to hear what you guys think would tie the room together best!

Is keeping this desk here really that bad?

Post image

A while back I started WFH a lot more, so I threw together a little home office in the bedroom( just placed them in an empty area).

BUT I think I picked a pretty good spot 😂 I get plenty of light, I'm comfortable here, and after using it for months I've gotten completely used to the setup.

Now my wife has realized this whole WFH thing doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon, so for the past few days she's been telling me it's time to move the desk against the wall. So we can get the walkway back and make the room look more organized.

And yes, I understand her point. But moving a desk is never just moving a desk. I need to unplug everything, sort cables, clear the desktop, and rebuild a setup.

Judging by my wife's tone, I'm probably moving it sooner or later whether I like it or not 😭 But before that happens, I need at least a little support from the husbands here. Maybe I'll go ahead and get a new desk while I'm at this stage?
