What is r/inspiration to you? Currently this sub is for sharing people/projects doing inspiring things in the world. The majority of posts submitted are typical social media slop 'keep calm, be good!' images, or wannabe inspiration influencers and often cringe. What do you want to see posted here?

You don't see a lot of that as mods remove like 85% of the posts submitted here for being spammy, cringy, or suggesting we all drop to our knees and pray as the solution to everything in our lives.

Should we:

  1. Keep things the same, tighten posting guidelines, and maybe bring a few more mods in to help keep spam under control
  2. Allow inspiration-influencers but filter them for the quality of their content.. and what criteria should we use for that?
  3. Allow all inspiration-influencers to post whatever they want, and let the community decide

I feel this sub is ready for a small, or big change since most posts submitted are currently being deleted (and annoying mods).

What are your thoughts?

Any other suggestions regarding the future of the sub?

You Deserved More

Sometimes, not getting what you wanted is part of learning what you truly deserve.

relationship that didn’t work out. opportunity that passed you by. version of life you thought you’d have by now. It’s okay to grieve what didn’t happen while still believing something good is ahead of you.

We are all one

After we awaken, sensing the first quiet messages from within, we begin to understand every person, even those we do not know, is intimately connected.

With this understanding, we now realize it matters not if someone is family, different from us, or complete strangers. We are all one, related, brothers and sisters, alive to selflessly help everyone in their journey through life.

How do you even recover from the rock bottom of rock bottom?

I am in misery due to a personal / health situation for nearly three years now. I just cannot move ahead. I am in deep despair, no amount of spirituality or prayers help. Plus my thoughts on wanting to unalive myself are straining my relationships. Does it ever really get better?

MASTER YOUR INSECURITIES BEFORE THEY MASTER YOU

In this video one speaks on how important it is to acknowledge your insecurities instead of pretending they don’t exist. Work on yourself in that area if you can. And ultimately give yourself the love, gentleness and care you deserve. Also how dangerous it is dating someone who is insecure.

Charge your heart

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Not every door deserves to be opened.
Not every voice deserves your attention.
Not every path deserves your footsteps.

Guarding your heart isn’t about fear.
It’s about clarity.

The Ideal You

Standing atop a mount made of the many versions of you that came before and those that will be. Shining bright, its golden light stretches down the mount. The light brings a feeling of warmth and acknowledgment for those below. As well as, drive, and a sense of guidance on how to reach its source. The ideal, as glorious as it is, stands firm as it looks toward the sky.

I don’t have to have everything figured out to start.

I was 46 when I earned my master’s degree. At that point in my life, I could have easily convinced myself I was too old or that I should have done it years earlier. But I did it anyway.

I think about that sometimes, especially now that I’m divorced after 21 years of marriage and trying to figure out what I want this next part of my life to look like.
I’m 52 now. I’ve been in recovery for over 30 years, I’m raising two kids, and I’m still finding things about myself that I want to work on.

There are things I want to accomplish that I don’t quite know how to make happen yet. And sometimes I get caught up in trying to figure out every little detail before I even get started.

But I’ve learned enough about myself to know that I don’t have to know everything going in. I can ask questions. I can learn something new. I can make mistakes and figure out what to do differently.

I don’t know exactly what the next few years will look like.
But I still have things I want to do with my life, and I’m not going to talk myself out of trying just because I’m starting over at 52.

Listen to the silence

Listen to the silence in between your racing thoughts.

Sense the quiet messages within.

Selflessly help all regardless of differences.

This is the lesson we are alive to understand.

The genuine value of a life

When you look at another, see past their appearance, behind the facade they present to the world, beyond their beliefs and accomplishments in the world.

Look to their essence within each, for that is where the genuine value of a life truly lies.

Learning to Be Someone I Can Rely On

Post image

One thing I’m learning through difficult times is that I can be someone I rely on. I still value support from others, but there’s comfort in knowing I’m learning to stand beside myself, too.
What has helped you rebuild trust in yourself after being hurt?
