Context is simple, you play through the entire game as Max a teenage girl learning and discovering this with the ability of time reverse, you do those things with this girl here Chloe.

You discover horrible things about certain people in town and the general feeling they're throwing onto you is that the town is awful. Chloe and Max during that time however fall in love with eachother, and thats wonderful, its insanely cute.

HOWEVER!!! The whole time manipulation you do, you used to save Chloe's life in the beginning of the game and that has lead to a butterfly effect where an unstoppable natural disaster will wipe out the entire city.

You are then met with a decision, do you sacrifice Chloe or do you sacrifice THE ENTIRE TOWN FOR CHLOE.

Which to me is an INSANE thing to pick between because obviously you fucking save the town right???

NO! The most popular choice has always been to save Chloe! WHY?? YOU'RE MURDERING AN ENTIRE TOWN FOR TEEN LOVE 😭😭😭😭

I'm NOT saying being the part of LGBT makes characters worse

I'm NOT denying the existence of stupid people who hates these characters ONLY because they are LGBT and nothing else

But whenever someone dare to critique these characters there always will be someone who will blame you for being LGBT hater independent of your takes toward characters.

There is nothing wrong to defend these characters if you actually debates with proofs to explain why they are actually well written and how their personality serves the plot, but if you instead just judge someone because they criticize the character you like instead of listening what they are saying , then it's pathetic and sounds like "I will defend any character who is representing my community, even if they act worse that Hitler and is written worse that AI texts.".
