Weird note in taking this, it’s actually hard to take a good photo of the screen. Probably some interesting physics at play, but the big white splotch from the flashlight on the left is actually invisible to the regular eye. Only shows up on the camera.

Only had my iPhone Duo for 4 days with light use and this is already happening. Apple is replacing it for free with AppleCare, but without it, I’d be looking at a repair bill this high. Definitely disappointed, but I’m glad Apple stepped up and recognized the issue.

$2K phone just to cover it with the cheapest case 🤣

From katamog’z youtube video. I don’t understand why the anti-duo crowd is making it seem like the phone will be taking 2007-potato-quality pics. IMO, the camera suffices just fine for pictures you’d be taking on your phone. I don’t think a vast majority of pro users are even utilizing the full capabilities of the pro cameras.

Today I went to Best Buy to test the camera. I used the iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, and my iPhone 15 Pro.

This is a basic non-technical comparison for the average user. Absolutely zero editing to anything. This is the result.

This does not compare any technicals. There is no change in lighting between the photos. This post was made for the average iPhone user who points and shoots, giving them an idea of what to expect at max zoom. Of course the results differ at standard zoom.

I’m in love with it. Apple has finally released something that is truly new and it feels amazing. Color is the same as my 12 Pro Max I believe. It’s incredible!

Just got the folio case, since it’s almost identical in size to the duo, here is the pictures I took.

I wanted to throw this out here for those that aren’t aware. Sandmarc sells a duo case for a screw on telephoto. I am on board with the crowd that thinks the device should come with a telephoto lens for the price. But it is what it is. I’ve used the anamorphic lens in the iPhone 16 Pro Max and it was fun to use, produced very good quality content. I haven’t used Tele photo.
Curious who’s used Sandmarc telephoto lens before? Were the images good quality? I know sometimes there can be some vignette with some lens.

Got the phone on launch day. Got on a cruise the next day. Wanted to show off what I’ve captured so far. The camera still takes great photos in the day. It does struggle at night but the trade-off was worth it. Coming from a 17 pro max, I’m super happy with the results

Concerns about the Duo's camera quality seem to be overblown

The quality is insane, super high, inner screen is very good. Can’t go back to the slab phone now.

This thing is more like iPad than the iPhone. In a good way.

I want everyone to see what I saw, and I don’t mean the stupid hat the Vikings fan was wearing. 48x Zoom vs 2X Zoom. This is what you will be sacrificing by getting a duo. I’m still on the fence. The camera is a huge miss for me. Do I need to zoom in? No. Do I like that I can? Yes.

I printed out a model to have a size comparison and get a general feel of the size. It’s not as bulky as I imagined it would be, if anything the size is just right. Obviously I can’t get a sense of the actual heft of the Duo, but I’d imagine it’s going to feel very durable. Looking forward to the Duo’s release, I’m just hoping I’m able to preorder one with a reasonable ship date.

Admittedly haven’t been playing with the camera too much. Was just outside with the pups and took a few pics - i’m totally satisfied with the camera!

Before launch, the big complaint was abt the cameras but idk, for me - I think it suffices just fine for the type of pictures i’d be taking on my phone. I really like the new photographic styles, too, that include the film/grain filters. Anyone have any cool shots?
