7 / 10 Great Value Bacon Cheeseburger

This was pretty good for a frozen burger. The bacon is almost tasteless through the burger, the meat is your typical frozen processed beef patty and the bun gets a bit hard after the microwave. The beef patty is extremely thin though and the burger is mostly bun but overall the taste is decent but nothing spectacular. I just don’t like how it’s a bacon burger but they give you PAPER THIN bacon that you can’t even taste.

I truly think these are decent. I usually prefer things in the air fryer vs the microwave but I think these come out better in the microwave. The bacon is more like thin Canadian bacon but I really think this is pretty solid and convenient.

7 / 10 I am 38 years old and today for the first time ever I had a Totino’s Party Pizza. It’s solid AF, nothing great, cheap at Dollar General and easy to make in the toaster oven. Will buy again when depressed and drunk at Dollar General.

7 / 10 Great Value General Tso’s Chicken

$7.87 at Walmart in Central NC. Five servings according to bag, but I portioned out four. Served with rice. Yes, it was surprisingly spicy, considering the source. Very easy to make. (Tip: I cooked the chicken pieces on foil, and then instead of adding everything to a bowl and dirtying up another dish, I added the sauce after it was baked and tossed it with a spoon.)

We called this “Mom Says We Have Chinese Food At Home.” 😂 Was it as good as Chinese takeout? No. The chicken “nuggets” were very similar to ones I’ve had at Chinese buffets, with the crunchy coating and not-quite mushy insides (think McNuggets).

Would I buy this again? Maybe. As I said, it wasn’t as good as restaurant quality, but it did make a satisfying meal.

Pics: front of package, back of package, frozen in pan, sauce thawing, cooked chicken, on plate, close-up of inside of chicken.

7 / 10 Jamaican meat pies

10 for $12 (military prices) or 2 for $4 (anywhere else).

The flavor is unique, coming from a Louisiana girl. Everyone already knows about Lazyone’s in Natchitoches. Spicy beef or crawfish. Perfect. The Jamaican pies are different.

I can’t describe it. It’s good though. Cooking on the pizza toaster for 20 minutes is better than the oven. They were mush in the oven. Maybe 30 minutes? Not sure. I’ve got 6 left to work on it.

Got a bag on sale for $4. I’ve never had White Castle in person or even the frozen sliders but I thought these were pretty good for the price. In my opinion they needed the dip but other than that they satisfied me for a tipsy dinner.

have y’all ever tried these before? and what are your opinions on it? (Sam’s club) available at Walmart and Target as well
Currently waiting for mine to be done from the air fryer, so i can rate it.

side note: I feel like this is the laziest thing ever lmao bc i feel like it would be faster and more efficient to make a fresh grilled cheese but that’s just my opinion, please don’t fault me for that. 😂
(My parents purchased these)

UPDATE: just tried it, and it’s pretty good, taste like your homemade grilled cheese if i’m honest.
i added Just Bare spicy chicken strips in between and definitely added to the quality

On the plus side, it was pretty tasty. And $1 on sale. And probably shelf-stable for a few years.

On the quibble side: required 90 seconds, and was greatly improved with a splash of habanero sauce.

On the “minus” side: no “tender beef chunks” as pictured, rather, there was a “salisbury steak” style circular patty in there. smaller than even Wendy’s or McD’s smallest burger offerings.

I enjoyed these, they had a lot of filling and a nice kick from the jalapeños. I know these things are divisive, but I like them as a convenient and tasty dinner. This flavor would go in the middle of my overall rankings.

7 / 10 Celeste pizza for one suprema. Perfect for broke people with no friends (me)

For less than a dollar each these are exactly what you’d expect but adding some sawdust Parmesan cheese on top takes it up a notch. These remind me that I have no friends to share a large pizza with and it humbles me greatly so I appreciate that Celeste thank you.

A store near me started selling these recently, so I finally got a box of them and I think they are pretty good. The burger patty tastes nice, the burger "bun" is decent, and the cheese tastes really good!

If you like McRib, you might enjoy this patty of pork and chicken. It’s got a good flavor as far as mystery meat goes and there’s plenty of bbq sauce to dip your forkfuls in. The mashed potatoes are sufficient as is the corn. Definitely something I’m going to incorporate into my diet more.

Was hungry for Mac n Cheese so picked this up and there's something comforting about this frozen dish. It might be that consistent orange hue of the sauce or starchy/slightly over cooked texture of the pasta.

I say Stouffer's Mac is this nice middle ground- satisfying but nothing crazy. Add something like meat or peas and you got yourself neat lil meal.

Ofc I'm sure we're all pretty familiar with this frozen isle staple

Better than the cheaper frozen chicken tenders but a bit disappointed in the quality. I expected more uniform pieces. Probably get the strips next time.

While the Ultimate does have better cheese, pepperonis and sauce, I still prefer the OG combination pizza. Maybe it’s just because it tastes like my childhood.

7 / 10 Cheeseburger Mini Hot Pocket

Thumbnail

For a buck-25 from dollar tree.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one and to say the least it's the best tasting hot pocket flavor Ive had(so far tried ham&cheese, pizza, and the breakfast ones). Even so, there was of course no crisper sleeve so the dough was chewy and not whereas good as it used to be.

The redemption is the cheese topping which tastes and smells exactly like Dorito dust(smelled like microwaving doritos😹). The inside has your typical hot pocket cheese goo but with beef crumbles that tasted decent for frozen meat.

A crisper sleeve would've brought this up to a solid 8-9/10

I told myself I would buy this if it ever was under four dollars. Today was my day! The crust definitely had a crunch. No chewiness like I see in Lean Cuisine and similar low calorie pizzas. Glad I tried, but I have better pizza options for the future.

Edit: to clarify, it is a microwave-only pizza. They don’t give instructions for anything else. I microwaved for 5.5 minutes in my 900 watt microwave. The crisper tray did what it was supposed to do!

It’s also 3 servings per pizza, 400 Cal, 43 g carbs, 16 g protein per serving. Only seen it at ShopRite, near the individual pizzas.

Saw this posted a while back and had to try it for myself. I was really surprised at how good it was. A nice amount of meat and rice and quite a bit of sauce, although it was kind of bland. Will definitely buy again.
