Would this be a good pc build for a mechanical engineering student with photo editing and some side hustle projects?

The list i gathered goes as follows

Component Selection
CPU Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF
Motherboard MSI MAG B860 TOMAHAWK WIFI
GPU Gigabyte RTX 5060 Ti AERO OC 16 GB
RAM Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB DDR5-5600
SSD WD_BLACK SN7100 1 TB
CPU cooler be quiet! Pure Rock PRO 3
PSU Corsair RM750e 750 W
Case NZXT H6 Flow Black

Would this be a fair build and powerful enough for mechanical engineering projects using programs such as CAD and some photo editing plus some minor side hustles. If needed i am open to upgrade the ram frequency and gpu if its not gonna give the needed power for the programs i am intending to use.

I need to be able to play most games out on the market at decent performance. I would like to have a Nvidia GPU. I do not need any peripherals. I live in Germany. I do not need a WiFi motherboard.

US / <$400 First time building. Gaming PC for $1500-$2000 budget (United States)

I haven’t bought anything other than a basic laptop in 20 years. I’m looking to get a PC for gaming, is it possible in this price range? I’m looking to play No Rest for the Wicked and Escape from Tarkov and maybe some other PC only games. I’m about 350 miles from a Microcenter. I’d prefer a prebuilt but know I’ll get a better PC if I do it myself. I don’t need 4K I’m a pretty casual gamer who just wants to play a few games with some people I’ve met at work.

Need help to select PC components

Looking to upgrade my PC and D4 is the most intensive game I currently play (Skyrim, Wow, D4 occasionally). Thinking I might get a new GPU, I have a GeForce RTX™ 3070 UPRISING Dual Fan 8G and have found the 8 GB GPU to be limiting in terms of graphics.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to help balance cost and performance. Not looking to buy a 5090 or anything bleeding edge, but would like to have it running comfortably.

What I know about PCs is rather limited and I will try to learn more about it, but any and all insight is appreciated!

PC Specs are:

  • MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI
  • Intel Core i5-11400F 6-Core 2.6GHz
  • G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200MHz 3200 MHz 16GB (2X8GB)
  • PNY GeForce RTX™ 3070 UPRISING Dual Fan 8G
  • XPG Core Reactor 750W Gold
  • 1 TB SSD

Hello guys,

I’m looking to build a pc after buying a prebuilt and having to refund it because it was faulty.

I want to be able to play games at 1080p, 144fps, use discord and listen to music, which I assume requires that 32gb of ram (will 32gb of DDR4 be okay)

I’d appreciate any suggestions and look forward to potentially build it from the information obtained here.

Need a small PC for older games (but not necessarily portable) or just get a Laptop?

I have an old, mid-century modern style bureau as my work/play computer area. It's in my lounge so the desk folds up to hide the computer when not use. My 24" screen just fits inside, I have a laptop i use alongside that. Whatever I get will have to completely fit inside when desk is folded up. I have about 380mm height, 280mm depth 460mm width to play with inside.

Use: Adobe Lightroom and games such as Company of Heroes 1 and 2, so not that strenuous at all as these are 10 and 20 year old games! Although I'll probably be playing CoH3 soon enough so a slight amount of modern gaming ability would be good too.
Country: UK
Budget: £900 (preferably £750)

I've been looking at mini-pc, gaming laptops and SFF, MFF, micro ATX or mini ITX style PCs. They're very difficult to find pre-built. There are several used on ebay such as:

@£700

Specs:
intel core i5 11400f
RTX 3070 8GB
16GB RAM DDR4
512GB M.2 NVME SSD with windows 11
650W PSU
Liquid cpu cooler
WiFi and Bluetooth card

I'm happy to attempt a build myself and I'm happy with used anything/everything. From my very basic level research, I think a 3070 and 16GB would probably be sufficient.

Also been looking at laptops from costco, I don't need ultimate durability as it's mostly used at my desk so cheaper building quality is fine. This is avail, for example, at £900. Acer Nitro V15, Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop, NH.QZAEK.002

Can anyone build a compact/small PC for light gaming that can beat those 2 for those prices?

Thanks!

Other / >$1400 Need help with a 350K PKR 1440p gaming PC build

Hi everyone, I'm completely new to PC gaming and this is my first time building a gaming PC. My budget is around 350,000 PKR, and I want to play games at 1440p resolution with a target of around 70 to 80 FPS. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos, but I'm getting really confused because one video recommends a specific card, and then another video says it's not good. Since I don't know much about the components, could you please recommend a balanced and reliable build within this budget that would be perfect for my needs? I am okay with going slightly up or down if a better component is worth it.

Other / >$1400 Build or Buy? ~$1800

I'm looking to either build or buy a new PC. This one specifically will be for my simulator rig that will see MSFS & iRacing on it. Also will be on a 49" monitor. So obviously, I need something powerful enough to be able to run these, with MSFS being the most demanding.

I really don't want to go above $1800 but I was also looking at the PowerSpec G764 for $2050 which should definitely work for what I'm looking for. The question is, am I able to find something or build something with similar specs for around $1800?

I wanted to buy parts over time and build the PC, though worried that the microcenter PC is too good to pass up on at this current time, and don't want to miss out on it if that's the case.

Pre built value

I was considering building a new PC after about a decade. Unsure if I want to go that route.

I'm considering getting two pre builts instead. 1 for my wife and 1 for me. The price I come up with for one Id build is about the same as two of these pre builts. Is this pre-built worth it?
