Towering above the enchanted forest, the Elder Tree has watched kingdoms rise and fall, its ancient face carved not by hand, but by centuries of life and magic. Elves have long sought its counsel, believing that within its roots lie the memories of the forest itself. Yet the Elder Tree speaks only when it chooses. Some travelers wait days for a single word, while others leave having heard nothing at all. Perhaps the tree is merely sleeping… or perhaps it knows something about those who seek its wisdom that they themselves have yet to discover.

The door slowly crept open on rusty hinges, and the adventurers were struck by first, the smell of blood and sulphur, then the vision of this small, once quaint, village church - now consecrated to dark, unfathomable powers....

This month i did a massive church themed pack. A ton of assets, benches, pews, painted glass windows, idols etc etc. I also made empty, precolored churches of different types that people can decorate themselves using the colored assets i made this month (or for that matter any other assets from my other packs :))

But, i also wanted to do something a bit more detailed and spooktober themed. So, here's a Diablo inspired church of the damned. Perfect for a dark and scary adventure!

After a final check on the secureness of the yoke straps binding the horses and oxen to their loads, I gave the Wagon Master a gentle nod. As apprehensive as I was to leave this last bastion of civilization and head into the wilds, we were as prepared as we could be. Our ample supplies, our pair of skilled guards, and our band of teamsters leading the wagons exhumed confidence, but knowing this lot well, I could tell the hesitation was shared among us all.

The Wagon Master and I had taken long and arduous routes in the past, but never this far into the unknown. Each of the many families in the caravan now counted on our expertise and would look to us in the months ahead to keep them alive and moving, no matter what awaited us in the forest deep and beyond.

Brave were the families undergoing this adventure, or perhaps naive, as many of them knew nothing of frontier life, only of city comforts and structured living. I knew with every fiber of my being that our display of confidence was more than just for show, but to keep the morale of a delicate sort of people high in the face of such uncertainty. Gods help us if they lose heart on this journey.

The Royal Bunker (30x34. 100dpi) lies hidden beneath the sands, its location known only to a trusted few. At times it has been found beneath sprawling military camps. At other times, there are no structures or signs of civilization for miles around, its residents hiding in the most remote of locales. This bunker has protected generations of royalty within relative comfort, in the most dire of situations.

The bunker has seen better days. While a revolutionary plumbing system carries fresh water from an oasis miles away, the shifting lands have caused walls to crumble, and gorgeous mosaics have chipped up beneath the feet of kings and generals who have walked these halls.

Hunters have stopped using an old forest trail after something began knocking trees down across the path. At first, locals blamed a storm, until they noticed the trunks weren't uprooted. They had been snapped.

A woodsman sent to investigate returned terrified. He claimed that every time he cleared a fallen tree, another crashed across the trail somewhere behind him.

Now a merchant's child is missing somewhere beyond the clearing, & the fallen trunks are the only sign that something followed them into the woods.
