Political Left-wingers are quick to object when people generalize about “the left”, yet have no problem generalizing about Republicans constantly

Whenever people try to talk about “the left” at large at all and mention beliefs or ideas that are prevalent among left-wingers that are controversial or unpopular, they totally freak out. It’s immediately “OH MY GOD SO THE LEFT IS A MONOLITH??? OH SO YOU’VE TALKED TO EVERY LEFT-WINGER EVER AND THEY ALL TOLD YOU THEY BELIEVE THIS??? OH SO YOU CAN READ MINDS AND YOU KNOW HOW EVERYONE THINKS???“

And then these same people will turn around with a smile on their face and tell you that all Republicans are bigoted, evil, horrible people who are Christian nationalists and think anyone who is not exactly like them deserves to die. And then if someone challenges this portrayal of Republicans in any capacity, it’s “OH SO YOU’RE MAGA??? JUST SAY YOU LOVE TRUMP. JUST SAY YOU HATE MINORITIES. JUST SAY IT.”

It’s like they operate under this strange double-standard. They think it’s everyone else’s responsibility to consider all their nuanced opinions and thoughts as an individual person and mock/freak out on people when they make any generalized statement about them. Somehow they also believe everyone on Earth who is not part of their in-group is the exact same and will generalize them constantly in the most negative light imaginable.

I don’t know how you can arrive at the conclusion that it’s appropriate to demand someone give you a level of understanding or consideration that you would never even dream of giving in return.

They do not see the irony in this at all.

The most hilarious part is that they will almost certainly show up to this post and say “no, you don’t get it, all Republicans actually ARE like that!” and it will still not click.

Black Europeans deserve to get more shit for appropriating black American culture than white Americans do.

A white guy named Ryan wears a chain, backwards baseball hat, and Jordans, and says stuff like "bruh that shit was fire fam" he is universally ridiculed for appropriating a culture that isn't his. When the Ryan's multiply, white women on Twitter write 10 part posts about "the problem with [insert thing that black people started that was coopted by white people]."

But I would argue that Ryan has more of a connection to the cultural experience that created that style than fucking Nigel in London. I see these guys online. Yeah bro you look sooo hard, tell me how rough it was growing up with free healthcare, no guns, teletubby unarmed police, no cash bail, a guaranteed month of paid vacation every year, and good public transportation that there is no stigma for using.

Ryan spent a year in jail for drug possession because he couldn't afford bail. The next time he got arrested, he paid a bail bondsman and went broke. Then his asthma started acting up, but he didn't have insurance so he never went to the doctor. He used up his five sick days and got fired. His meth head dad got shot by the police in a traffic stop because they thought he was reaching for a gun. Ryan listens to rap and idolizes the artists because they talk about his life. Nigel cannot relate.

Political The Cornell 7 are innocent.

It's all bs and she just did this to get money and fix her reputation. First by her own testimony she said it wasn't GRAPE and that she had fun. She kept texting some of the guys and even said that she wanted to get with two of them again. She wanted to attend the Halloween party at the same frat and when she was uninvited that is when she started to claim GRAPE. One of the seven people in the lawsuit was dropped because it was discovered that it was the wrong person. You can't say she was too intoxicated to consent because she said that the guys were even more intoxicated and that logic can be reversed.

Political "No one is illegal on stolen land" is the slogan of entitled and privileged Leftists who despise America.

They think America isn't entitled to the defense of its own borders and that its acquisition of said land was a unique evil in history.

A group of white saviors dreamt up this narrative, and all it does is forever create hate between different American ethnicities. Stopping it would be an end to the gravy train for academic/activists in the humanities departments.

Political California is objectively the worst state in the US to live in.

My opinion is that California has completely failed as a state, and it has converted its natural wealth and geography into a massive, extractive bureaucracy designed to punish the middle class and screw over anyone trying to build a future. They use the fact that the weather is nice to justify bleeding everyone dry with the highest income tax, sales tax, and gas taxes in the country. But for me, that "good weather" talking point doesn't even apply. I’ve lived my entire life in an area of Southern California that is just blazing hot all the time, so I am paying a massive financial premium for a climate I don't even care about.

On top of the heat, we live under constant wildfire risk every single year, largely due to absolute government incompetency and terrible forest management. Instead of actually fixing the problem, they just let utility companies hike our electricity bills to insane levels while threatening us with blackouts.

What do citizens actually get in return for giving up all that money? Gridlocked freeways, skyrocketing bills, and cities that look worse every year because the state has basically legalized property crime and decriminalized retail theft.

If you are a young person trying to start a life here, the math makes zero sense. Home prices are pushing a million bucks. Unless your parents are absolutely loaded, you are trapped as a permanent renter for the rest of your life. The basic American promise that if you work hard you can actually afford a home and feel safe in your community is completely dead in California. The state government has a 75 percent Democrat supermajority, which means they have zero checks and balances and can pass whatever radical laws they want. If you don't perfectly fall in line with their progressive cultural echo chamber, your vote is mathematically neutralized and you are treated like an alien in your own hometown.

The turning point for me was when the state government decided to steal the last three months of my junior year of high school and the entirety of my senior year for a virus that posed zero threat to anyone my age. They completely derailed our lives, canceled our milestones, and wouldn't even let us physically go to school with a mask mandate. They just locked us out and forced us onto screens while the Governor hypocritically broke his own COVID restrictions to go eat at a luxury restaurant. Nobody has ever apologized for it.

The people running this state do not care about normal citizens at all. I am genuinely planning on packing up my stuff and moving to a red state like North Dakota just to get a total, permanent reset from this broken system. I honestly do not care what anyone thinks of this post or what people say in the replies. The reality of what this state has become is completely undeniable.

Sex / Gender / Dating "All boobs are good boobs" is BS and just cope.

Any time a woman who's insecure about being flat chested posts on reddit, an army of guys will crawl out of the woodwork and leave comments like "all boobs are good boobs" or "as long as I get to touch them, I don't care how big they are". I've even seen some redditors confidently claim that "most men find big boobs disgusting" which is completely false.

I think that men do this to make the girl feel better, and also to make themselves feel morally superior and less shallow, just like how women insist that "size doesn't matter" or "height doesn't matter" when in reality it clearly does. To dig even deeper, I believe many men say this because their own girlfriends have small boobs, and they know they aren't attractive enough to pull a fit girl with bigger boobs, because those girls can have any guy they want. So it basically becomes an "If I can't have the best, I should convince myself that I'm happy with what I have" kinda situation.

Yes, boobs are boobs. But some boobs are better and more attractive than others, and to deny that is just straight up delusional. Usually, up to a certain extent, bigger boobs are more sexually appealing to the vast majority of men, unlike what reddit would seem to suggest. If this weren't the case, women like Sydney Sweeney wouldn't be so wildly famous and lusted after by so many men. Instead, we would have an equal amount of men lusting after flat-chested actresses, and those actresses would be getting a ton of brand deals to flaunt their A cups. But that clearly isn't happening. Look what happens when a previously curvy woman loses a bunch of weight and her boobs get considerably smaller. Almost all men will view that as a downgrade and say she looked hotter before. Also, no girl gets jealous when a guy looks at a girl with a flat chest. But many girls do jealous when they see their partner watching or admiring girls with big boobs (again, look at Sydney Sweeney).

All this is to say that yes, you can personally prefer small boobs, and it's perfectly valid to have that preference. But to claim that all boobs sizes are equally attractive is blatantly false and just a coping mechanism for the vast majority of people.

Liberals CAN be right about something, but their whole "I'm so much smarter than you" and "everyone who doesnt think as I do is dumb and the problem" bullshit is why people dont like them or want to listen to them or will vote against them out of spite.

Many of them are like that know it all kid in high school that nobody liked, self righteous and talking down on everybody and being blatant hypocrites for the sake of virtue signaling.

Political The Left is actually going to destroy America.

And before you comment it, no, I'm not some bible thumping MAGA, I think gay people should be able to marry, woman should have rights + be able to have an abortion. So in other words, I am a centrist. Or at least I was until I grew so fucking tired of the Left and their insanity.

I remember the days when their rhetoric was confided online, where people could argue without being labeled as a Nazi or some other buzzwords. But now, it has spread to the real world where it went from being annoying to being detrimental.

The inability to think logically.

A parent complaining that their kid was kicked out of school so it could be used to house illegal immigrants? Racist.

A judge sentencing a black woman to life in prison for stabbing her boyfriend to death and laughing about it? Racist.

An airport detaining Chinese students with a crop destroying fungus? RACISSST.

While these just seem to be just comments from stupid people who lack common sense, it unfortunately is present in real life. Do you remember the Somali Daycare fraud? How 4.6 million dollars was stolen? And what was stopping the FBI from arresting or investigating them sooner? Yup. The claims of "racism" despite them having every reason to investigate, resulting in millions of dollars being lost.

A much worse example of this was 9/11. A security guard thought the hijackers looked suspicious, but let them through. Why? Because he thought his intuition was "racist" and didn't want to get in trouble for discrimination. Nearly 3,000 people died because it.

There is no common sense, just labeling it "racist" as soon as an minority is involved, no matter how justifiable it is.

The complete lack of thought/care for their own civilians.

The Left has already showed they hate their own people and country by coddling up to our enemies online.

Now you might say that's only online, but let me ask you this.

Does letting millions and millions of immigrants, some from violent third world countries in unprepared cities scream "I care about the people living there"? Or setting criminals with long rap sheets free in the streets?

The answer is no. The Left has made it very clear that they don't give a rat ass about their people or country. They don't care if their stupid decisions are harming innocent people, all they care about is showing the world "Hey look at me! I'm a good person for letting immigrants in and giving criminals second chances!" while causing the worst border crisis in American history or letting a man with 14 prior arrests stab a woman to death.

Republicans aren't good either, but at least they actually care about the country.

Possibly Popular A growing portion of the population has zero concept of acceptable public standards on airplanes and some should even be removed before takeoff.

I fly 8-12 days a month on average. I typically get an upgrade, but what I’m seeing is not specific to any one seating class, race, religion, creed, orientation, or any other grouping you want to apply. These issues are societal, not limited to specific populations. I also fly private a handful of time a year and that isn’t always a better experience, but for different reasons than below.

The progression over the years has been trending downward for caliber of flyer, especially the last five years where it’s essentially a guarantee that the below problem flyers will be on your plane. I’m also observing that more people are hitting multiple categories simultaneously, so there could be some overlap in my numbers

My observations are:

Poor personal hygiene 5-10%
There are a number of people that seem to not understand what a shower and washed clothes can do for the soul. It’s not just the late in the day, changed planes twice crowd either. The 6:00am flights are just as gross. I’ve smelled some awful things on plane before, but it is getting significantly worse as more and more people fit into this category on each flight. It’s disgusting.

Chatty people 5%
I’m not against talking on an airplane or making conversation. Of course seatmates should be courteous to each other, no complaint from me there. Saying hello to each is proper etiquette. Conversation among strangers can even be pleasant on a flight, but If my headphones are in and I’m clearly working on a spreadsheet or email on my laptop, stop trying to make unprompted conversation with me. I don’t care about any cat, but especially your cat and its love of dental floss when I’m trying to make the most of the few hours of my day where no one can get in contact with me. If I don’t engage with you beyond a basic acknowledgment you had a sound come out of your facehole, take the hint and stop trying to tell me every thought you’ve ever had for the duration of the flight. Not every comment you overhear, or observation you have requires an interjection into someone else’s time. It’s also not my duty to keep you entertained on a flight, so stop trying to get me to engage, when I’ve gone out of my way to show I’m not wanting to talk about your favorite brand of napkins at this moment.

Freeloaders 10-15%
This is worse on shorter flights. As a frequent traveler, I’ve learned some tricks that others may not have had enough flight time to know, so I can extend some grace on this one…. To a point. I like to bring my own drink since the thimble of soda they give you will be gone before they finish serving the next row and it’s going to be a while until they can come back with a refill.

When people see the feed cart coming, they go bananas now, and it becomes a contest to see how many bags of pretzels you can get on a 40 minute flight. It’s bordering on aggressive how people are going out of their way to get as much stuff as possible. Also, the flight attendant doesn’t give two farts that you think the brand of cookie they have is your favorite or why you need an extra something to bring with you to surprise your sister’s neighbor. The non-stop asking for freebies just adds more noise and nonsense to deal with on a flight.

Clueless people 5-10%
This may just be me spending too much time on planes and usually being in a hurry. If you don’t travel frequently or are unsure of what to do, just look at others. It’s not hard to simply be observant and go with the flow. God-forbid some people try to use logic and try to exercise common sense in an airport or on a plane. So many people act like it’s the first time they’ve ever been in public.

Also, if you’re flying in or out of Orlando, the Disney Adults (not talking about adults that simply like Disney) absolutely are a whole other level of frustration to have to be around. I’ll save that opinion for another time

World Affairs (Except Middle East) Macron trying to make the French riots about the US and Iran is pathetic. But I'm sure the news will go along with him and change the rhetoric.

I saved this early on when discussing these riots because I sorta had an inkling this would happen

Core Student Demands - Financial Investment: A €10 billion investment plan for public education. - Staffing & Class Sizes: More teachers to cover absences, hiring of extra education staff (nurses, social workers, assistants), and smaller class sizes. - Infrastructure Repairs: Renovation of dilapidated school buildings, better heating/cooling, and resolution of facility hazards. - Admissions Reform: Changes or an overhaul to Parcoursup (France's national online university admissions platform) and an increase in university places. - Lighter Schedules: Reduction of heavy timetables and school hours that contribute to student stress.

Note what is not in there. "The price of gas while I drive my Peugeot to school"

Sorry, bub, ain't gonna work. Handle your own problems. Don't just blame Trump.

Possibly Popular I shouldn’t have to acknowledge my privilege every time I accomplish something.

It’s exhausting to be around people who always feel the need to say that I was “privileged” because I graduated school or got a good job or saved enough money to buy a house. I’m not saying by that it’s untrue but why does every accomplishment come with a reminder that someone else didn’t have the “opportunity” to do it. Yes, some people are born into better situations than others but that doesn’t mean that we should have to act like we didn’t work hard for what we accomplished. Some people simply lack the genuine drive or motivation to achieve things and hide behind the idea that their life situation is what is preventing them from advancing their lives in other to make themselves feel better.

Sex / Gender / Dating Most unattractive people are used to being treated poorly its the gaslighting that comes with it that gets on their nerves

Funny how most shallow, arrogant and vain people I know were also the ones somehow are the ones most convinced of fair world theory. Funny how they think everything good happens to them because they are such a good people, how their looks are totally unrelated to the dating prospects they get or employment opportunities that knock their door.

With the same breath they will tell you how its all about whats inside that matters while also get a panick attack when their hair looks slightly less perfect that day.

Here is a honest truth, most attractive people are painfully aware of all the privileges they receive in life. Otherwise they wouldn't spend so much energy on their looks. At the same time they are full on their copium of being a "good person" so much that they intentionally gaslight others on their shortcomings in life being something wrong about their personality rathet than external factors that decide 99% of the time how you will be treated in society.

Telling your chubby girlfriend that maybe losing few pounds would help them get cracked by a guy they like would be a huge help for your friend. But that would also might mean that you'll just end up being the ugly girlfriend also it takes genuine self reflection to admit that maybe you are not a such a great person to begin with and being the only hot girl in the room is the reason why you get so much perks in life.

Political Not Everyone Should Be Able To Vote

Keeping this short.

My grandpa votes straight democrat all the time, doesn't know anything or anyone. Just saw him fill it out. My dad voted all republican, doesn't know any candidate & couldn't define any positions of theirs or give a coherent reason. Dropped both of theirs off in the mail. Kinda sad.

These 2 men should not be able to fucking vote & this is half the fucking country.

I don't fully agree but I'm beginning to understand why the founders made property ownership a requirement to vote, it filtered our Regards from casualizing an otherwise serious job, electing the leader of the free world.

I think there's no coherence to that in today's time but I know the right will advocate for that, it'd be cool to see some leftists agree with me, especially since your wet orange nightmare got elected twice.

Maybe a test? Maybe voter ID? Maybe a vote count if you list 3 policy positions of theirs?

Something because elections are too much like popularity sports now.

Political Illegal immigration hurts immigrants more than helps them in the US

• Upvotes

Speaking aside from seeking asylum. As someone who comes from immigrants who came here legally and some illegally, I find it insane that people who are 3rd, 4th, and the generation of Americans really think they're doing something beneficial being pro illegal immigration when I have witness 1st hand how it hurt immigrants more to come here with no identification at all.

Not having an identity in a country leaves you vulnerable to anyone wanting to exploit them like cash payments with no legal backing rights, slavery, trafficking and simply just having no ability to benefit from from using social systems because they don't exist.

Yes, there should be a better process to speed up the process of citizenship. But people coming here with kids is even worse. Now your kids are adapting to nation that doesn't recognize them at all and returning to country they don't recognize is even worst and is extremely irresponsible of the parents bringing then here and practically setting them up for failure because they even get a chance to start.

No, I'm not maga anti immigration. I'm anti coming here with no plan or idea of what's to come because you think coming here is just automatic success, but screw your kids in process. I'll speak more in regards to the hispanic community as that's where I grew up and noticed this a lot. People retired with no social systems in place because they had no idea what to expect and were convinced by a family member coming here on a whim is a good idea.

This why daca was created because Obama had to clean up the mess a lot of illegal parents did to their kids. Against I'm not anti immigration I'm anti screwing your kids futures because you didn't try to do a little bit of research of what was to come, especially now in the information age you can find out what's to he expected before you come. Before you had hired a lawyer to get basic info, now you use a smartphone to look up the political climate of where immigration laws are currently.

Han Solo was in his 30s during the events of A New Hope. He would have been around 10-13 during the Clone Wars. He was old enough to remember when Jedi were generals and the force was common knowledge during the prequel era. Furthermore his best friend, Chewbacca was a veteran of the Clone Wars who fought side by side with Master Yoda on Kashyyk. The FUCK YOU MEAN, you don’t believe in the force?

Political Eliminate "Protected Classes"

The federal government recognizes certain groups as "protected classes" - race, sex, veterans, disabled, etc. It is time to eliminate this distinction. The fear of dismissing substandard employees from protected classes is harming businesses and public institutions. Valued persons, regardless of race, gender, etc should not be forced to work with those who have an arbitrary level of "protection". Certainly discrimination exists but lowering standards does not help. I think my opinion is a lot more popular than you may think.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) America fixes cuisine from the rest of the world.

Look, I'm not saying good food can't be found elsewhere in the world, I'm saying America improves it.

Mexican= we added cheese and started frying things

Japanese = love sushi, how did Japan not think of deep frying a roll before?

Italian = I'm sorry, we can even do Italian style pizza better here. Tomatoes are a new world crop, they don't have a claim to them. Pasta is the most basic thing to make, idk how anyone can proudly claim to be the best

Thai = I mean, so many good dishes, but Phad Thai has to be king.

So many examples, I'm sure you all can think of them as well. The only reason this take is anything other than absolute zero is because I can anticipate angry people outside the US disagreeing while calling us fat.

How do you think we got fat? Our food is better. Our version of YOUR food is better because we have people from your country making it here and incorporating the sorts of genius innovations you typically only find at a Taco Bell.

Edit: I have done a considerable amount of international travel, so you'll have to find a different way to dismiss my correct opinion.

Possibly Popular Plastic surgery use needs to calm down. It very often looks worse than simply getting older and embracing uniqueness.

I am fully aware that my opinion means nothing, I have no ownership or say over someone else’s body. I also acknowledge that there are cases where surgery genuinely improves people, especially those who through no fault of their own were deemed unattractive prior to augmentation. In those cases it makes perfect sense.

Having said that, frankly it makes me sad to see objectively attractive people, usually women, cave to the pressure of a predatory industry and social system (ironically pushed mostly by other women, as men rarely prefer the artificial look) and irreversibly alter their appearance and lose their uniqueness.

I saw a picture of Jennifer Lawrence today, an (IMO) very attractive woman even as she ages, and after her ‘revamp’ she’s borderline unrecognisable. Yes she looks more ‘perfect’ now, but it’s not her; It’s a facsimile of her. I think this is a real shame and will inevitably have a trickle-down effect on her impressionable younger fans especially. “If this Hollywood star isn’t attractive enough as she is, what hope is there for me?”

I am big on autonomy, and so I don’t think these things should be legally regulated since all parties consent to these surgeries, but I really think they should have a much larger stigma. If not for the people who are already too far gone, but for the next generation. Be you, not a sculpted shell of you.

So they tried to "October Surprise" everybody with another fake "report" about how Trump is a sexual assaulter but nobody is actually taking the bait and they're losing their minds over it.

I mean, according to the DNC pretty much anybody who doesn't agree that they're the greatest people in the world are all sexual assaulters right? Not just Republicans either, but their own party leadership like Cuomo, Adams and of course the illustrious Clintons.

This is the most depraved nonsense I've ever seen. The Democrats are completely imploding right in front of everybody and they just keep doubling down. Somebody get the straight jackets already.

I Like / Dislike People are too bent out of shape about AI content.

AI is here to stay and people that get wasted on the use of it but fail to address the point of the verbiage or image, have lost the battle. I just ignore them and move on to people that might have something to say on the actual topic. It shouldn't matter how the words or image came into being. It's a thought that has validity (or not), but the fact that AI was used has no bearing on the thought itself.

That said, if there's a song or art that was created using AI, I take that into account. Because music and art are supposed to be creative and not logical.

Political Forcing moderates to vote for your side is just gonna make your side lose elections

Many left- and right-wing groups literally become authoritarian when it comes to elections

Some even pressure moderates to vote for their side by guilt-tripping them with lines like; “If you don’t vote, you are part of the problem”

But here’s the thing: moderates literally don’t give a sh*t about whether your side is the “good” one, they only care about which politicians have the best policies and the most reasonable positions given the country’s current circumstances

The more you pressure them to vote for your side, the more likely you are to lose elections, because moderates may also vote for the other side just to spite you

Sex / Gender / Dating If women can wear makeup in dating profile photos and on first dates, there should be nothing wrong with men listing a taller height and wearing insoles that make them that height

Both are temporary changes to your appearance and in both cases you’re turning up looking the way you presented yourself on your profile. I don’t see why one should be accepted as making yourself look better while the other is automatically treated as deception.

The obvious objection is that the man will eventually take his shoes off, but the woman will eventually take her makeup off too. If the concern is that someone might not find you as attractive without the enhancement, that possibility exists in both cases.

People can personally dislike either, but the standard should be consistent, you either disagree with both or agree with both.

The Middle East Israeli politics reflects itself on entire world

A while ago I started following Israeli politics. Despite a widespread reddit/leftist Israel hate, as a non Israeli who actually learned history and works almost daily with our Israeli counterparts, I felt the need to know, wtf is goong on in that particular aspect. As I see the counting of votes unfolding, it seems to me that this country is in deadlock and I'm not sure how it will unfold. Similar to whats going on in many democratic countries.

To sum it up and to simplify, there are 4 major sides to the story:

- There are 4 major religious parties with a combined 27 seats at this point (subject to change upon the final count the votes). They claim to be far right, when in fact their only agenda is not to serve in the idf and get as much money as possible for the religious community with total disregard to everyone else. These 4 are aligned with Likud, an oldest party lead by Netanyahu who also have 27 sits at this point. They claim to be right wing, when in fact it seems that all they want is to stay at power. Religious parties won't change, but as it seems that the events of October 7 and a followup antisemitism wave actually pushed many decent people to likud as they fear for their lives.

- There are 4 major centrist-left parties with a combined 47 seats who oppose the Netanyahu block. I can say personally that these are mostly the wonderful people I work with.

- There are 2 major politica Arab parties with a combined 17 sits. Their agenda is counter religious and they did not condemn terrorist attacks. Which essentially put them in their own bracket of political power, counter to the rest of the parties. Both sides dislike each other and aren't willing to engage in dialog.

To win the election, any side needs to to have 61 sits in total, but no one will change their stand. Political system in America is different, but it also seems we're in a deadlock, similar to Israeli politics and the voices are getting louder every moment. Same in Europe, at some part.

There is also a side of judicial system, which is a force of its own, that had taken too much of unchecked political power. Everybody agrees that reform needs to happen, but there is no wide agreement, so it's another deadlock.

As it seems right now, the politics of Israel is a reflection of all western world. Blind hate from all sides can't help. There is no single villain here despite all the hate. We need to come to compromise and most importantly, stick with it. Everywhere in the world. I feel that we, the regular people are exhausted by all the hate, everywhere.

Sex / Gender / Dating Man vs Plane: Its irrational for women to be afraid of men

So on another site I saw a post where it compared the possibility of dying in a plane crash at 1 in 11 million whereas the chance of a woman being subject to an act of violence from a man is 1 in 3. And that therefore its ridiculous to blame women for being afraid of a man.

So a quick search and the 1 in 11 million appears to be per flight. Which obviously makes the comparison really biased. Comparing 1x vs lifetime and death vs "not death".

So I did some math to try and even things out. Assume most women will encounter at least 1 man per day, so to make it a fair comparison assume a woman takes 1 flight/day for 80 years.

So 29200 lifetime flights with the 1/11m death rate yields 1/376 chance of dying in a plane crash

The chance of a woman being murdered in her life 1/700 to 1/800

So half as likely as dying in a plane crash if you take one flight per day. And most women will probably average encounters with more than one man per day in their lifetime.

So if fear of flying is irrational(as it is commonly argued it is); women being afraid of men is also irrational.

In conclusion its more dangerous for a woman to ride a plane than to ride a man.

For the 2024 presidential race, the Democrat and Republican candidates together spent nearly $2 billion on their campaigns. THAT'S LUDICROUS. What an utter waste of money.

I think the maximum budget should be $1M, maybe even 500k. This would have two benefits:

  1. Lowers the bar so that 3rd party candidates actually have a chance at election.

  2. Helps lessen the amount of influence corporations can assert over candidates (even just a little bit)

This is besides of course not burning half of 2 billion dollars on absolutely nothing, as only one party can win
