Discussion third party launcher
I used to play mostly on PS, so when my PC friends talked about all those Steam games I was just sitting there like ok cool guess I’ll go play my cozy games alone lol, stuff like My Time at Sandrock, Stardew Valley, some chill indie games, you know the vibe
Then I finally got a PC and thought alright, now I can actually join them. Bought the game, downloaded it, snacks ready, ready to become a real PC gamer
Why😭 I hate this.

Discussion So it starts… Ai community items
Points shop will soon flood with AI slop. At least with games a disclaimer should be added within the description of the game. But here… Yeah…
Like what is the point? You don’t even gain anything as a company from this.

Discussion Which Game Have You Played The Most?
For me it's gotta be CS:GO/CS2; I have over 2,000 hours in that game dating back to 2015/2016.
A lot of good times and fun memories... I feel so old now, but I don't regret it.
I hope all those buddies I played with over the years are doing ok, wherever they are...

Discussion Found out I had 500$ hiding in my steam account
So ive had my steam account for 10 years, one of my most played games is CS, with 1200hrs. Over the last maybe 3 years I havent touched the game, completely forgot about it.
Well I saw this tiktok saying you can now see your CS chats on this cs tracker website, and I was like wait let me check mine.
So i enter my username, dont see any chats probably because I havent played the game in 3 years. But something caught my eye....
Inventory value 500$?!??!?! I was like wait what? The only thing I might have worth money is CS skins. Sure enough i had 3 skins, exact same skin worth 140$ each. Dont need them, sold them. I have two other skins worth over 100$ that I would like to keep.
But yeah im shocked, I didnt realize my skins were worth anything. Might use the money to help pay for the new steam VR

Discussion Finally, a 2026 game with proper indoor mirror reflections without Path Tracing.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
game that pulls off proper indoor mirror reflections without forcing you to enable Path Tracing and burn an RTX 4090 to see it. honestly more devs need to figure this out.
Mirrors shouldn't be a flagship GPU feature in 2026.
Game - 007 First Light

Discussion The AI problem everyone is glossing over
Aside from the huge influx of slop making steam next and the store unusable there is a bigger issue.
Genuine developers are no longer able to release demos or early access for player feedback. Lucas Pope won't discuss his next game and Indie studios cancelled demos (Edited from Toby Fox cancelling demo, I misremembered the article linked below)
Why? AI studios (that proponents of AI would say are producing the "good AI games") have been decompiling demos or just burning tokens to get their models to scrape the demo and get a pixel perfect clone(edit for all the strawman arguments - I mean art close enough that people interested in the original demo don't realise they're buying the copy). Then they feed it into their enterprise llm account and fire out the IP theft before the creator has a chance to publish. This results in them stealing a huge proportion of the audience and killing the visibility of the real game on release. I'm talking about playable games following a shallower loop than the original but with enough there to fool a lot of people until past the refund time and not disclosing the use of llm generated assets.
This is not a conspiracy theory, look for "needle haystack" and try to find the original. This is just one of the games. Yes there's slop but theres also 2-3 games where you'd be hard pressed to find the original. I guarantee the top 10 non AI games played in this next fest will have clones release in the next 2 months.
This is why we need an AI filter, otherwise Indie development will die or, at best, have to move to curated game stores.
Edit - Apologies I misremembered it was Lucas Pope not Toby Fox and it was him keeping details of his game secret, not cancelling a demo. It was part of an article about demo cancellations. Linked here for clarity

Discussion Apparently, the new Steam Controller sometimes does the Wilhelm scream when dropped while in Big Picture Mode.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not my video, i don’t have one. Is this true?
Edit: seems to be confirmed by many people, also it seems that it doesn’t need to be on Big Picture Mode for it to happen!

Discussion Friend Returned After 17 Years
One of my best friends from my childhood recently reappeared after 17 years on a new steam account. We use to play a half-life mod called The Specialists when we were kids. He taught me how to run a game server, setup a MySQL server and make simple plugins in pawn script back in the day. He was one of the main reasons I am as tech savvy as I am in todays day and age.
He disappeared in 2008/2009 and his server remained up for about a month after his disappearance. It was a fun role-play server from back in the day. It was kind of the FiveM of the early 2000s.
I saw a random friend request pop up on my steam late last night and the guy introduced himself as my old friend. We started reminiscing about the old days and he said that his parents sent him to some military school then he ended up joining the air force. In present day he's now married, has 2 kids, and said he finally has time to play games again. We even got to play a few rounds of cs 1.6, so that was fun.
Anyways! How long has one of your friends been offline for?
[edit]
Wow this blew up while I was sleeping. I wanted to answer some questions I see people having.
"Why did he make a new account?" He lost his information I guess, I did not really pry for info.
"Where was he all those years?" He said he made the military a career for over 10 years and had been deployed to multiple countries over the time. Never saw war, but got stationed in places like Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. He came back because he got medically discharged after an accident while training. He didn't go into detail about it.
