Sujin-dong might be the most cyberpunk place I’ve ever been to
galleryPeople tend to call Seoul “cyberpunk,” but the maze-like neighborhood of Sujin-dong on the outskirts of Seoul takes things to another level. These were photos I took while I was still living in South Korea with my Canon 650D. Compared to Seoul, Sujin is far more gritty with old, organic buildings with dark alleys that run between them, old neon lights, and wires dangling above you as you walk through the night, yet with modern Gangnam and Bundang only a short distance away. The nighttime atmosphere is friendly yet eerie at the same time. It’s not quite on the level of the Kowloon Walled City, but it might be a cyberpunk labyrinth in its own way.
