Well, firstly, I graduated from school with a gold medal and decided to pursue a degree in psychology. Shortly after I started university, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and I decided to take an academic leave for a year. I was also working at the time, and it was difficult for me to balance work and studies.
After that, I changed jobs several times, working in customer support and payment processing roles. I gained a lot of experience and earned a good amount of money along the way. However, I couldn't return to university because of my debts and loans.
Five years have passed since I took that break from my studies. This year, I decided to change my major to business administration and management. I'm currently in my third week, and I already feel exhausted because I'm working and studying at the same time.
People study to get jobs like mine, and I already have one. I want to quit university again and rethink my major because I'm not sure whether I'm genuinely interested in it. I also don't have much time to study.
I can't quit my job because I need it financially, and doing so would cause me problems. I work from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., while my lectures and seminars are scheduled early in the morning. I've even had to study during working hours, which has negatively affected my performance at work.
Please, what are your thoughts? I'm worried about quitting university again, and I feel like I haven't really tried hard enough to balance everything. However, it feels impossible.
I'd appreciate it if you could share your objective thoughts...
