As you can see, our beloved prime Minister was welcomed in French rather than in either of our two official languages: Arabic (or Darija) and Amazigh (Tachelhit, Tasusit, Tarifit). These two are supposedly at civil war with each other, an artificial conflict in my opinion. Meanwhile, French, the language that actually dominates society and continues to discriminate against ordinary Moroccans, is the one nobody dares to challenge.
I still remember the shame I felt when the Moroccan candidate presented us for the 2030 World Cup exclusively in French, while the Portuguese and Spanish candidates spoke naturally in their own languages. Am I the only one who thinks that a nation without linguistic sovereignty has no real future?

We live in a world obsessed with optimizing everything—our routines, our careers, our relationships, even our relaxation. But it feels like the moment we demand perfection, we lose the ability to enjoy the messy, imperfect moments that make life actually feel human.
For those who struggle with perfectionism: Has chasing perfection ever actually made you happy, or has it just made you anxious? Let's discuss.

I'm an entrepreneur, I have a few foreign businesses and I also do consulting in Morocco, I have a personal status of auto-entrepreneur and two SARLs and LLCs in the US, for almost a week now I can't pay my Moroccan taxes online (because the site is still down from the php2shell security issue, one of my businesses is a web agency and we patched a dozen of sites in minutes), and therefore start having late penalties. Auto-entrepreneur also have another problem which is the limit of 80kMAD per client and 200kMAD yearly, which are really low (I charge 100-200€/h depending on packages so it's 40-80h per client maximum a year and 200h in total which is less than a month of work) especially while working with foreign clients (which is not an official activity btw, legally auto-entrepreneur can't work with foreign clients but they close the eye), my other option is SARL AU, but then I have even more paperwork and need to pay up to 30% when paying out dividends and lots of other charges like domiciliation, accountant etc.
This is on one hand, the other hand is the administration; to register as auto-entrepreneur in France the whole process was online and done within minutes, here I registered online but I had to go to al barid bank agency near me to submit my papers, they said they can't help me if I don't have an account with them (although it specifically says al barid bank handle it), went to my local attijari agency they said go back to al barid bank, I had to then call a cousin who's an agency director in another agency to do it for me and he confirmed that any agency can do it in 5 minutes, so the guy at my local branch was just lazy. Now same thing with the offline payment of the taxes, al barid bank says to go to my bank and my bank says to go back to them, so I will probably wait til the website is back and eat the bullet to not disturb my cousin again.
I didn't work today at all because I was going back and forth between the branches. Now I understand why there are companies offering services to register and do the paperwork for you'
We really need accountability, have a local yelp or even just Google reviews actually matter, the two bank branches I talked about are 1 star with hundreds of reviews, why doesn't the bank head penalize the lowest rated branches cus without any incentives or threat to give a better service it won't move.
We also need the state to give more than 2 shits about making the process of creating wealth as seamless as possible, having international clients paying in Morocco in foreign currency is a gold mine for Morocco as we desperately need the foreign currency, the pjd talked about having a digital auto-entrepreneur status who would have higher limits for foreign services. But idk what would happen now.

The Finance Bill is the budget of Morocco for 2027. It contains all government spending and all taxes.
Here are the main changes proposed by Fouzi Lakjaa:
🔴 Income tax will be changed. People earning less than 60,000 dirhams will be exonerated from paying taxes. The top tax rate will be reduced
🔴 People who import goods will have to declare it to the Diwana to facilitate transfers
🔴 Companies doing business with FIFA or Football Federation will receive special tax exemptions until 2031.
🔴 Some professional footballers and football employees will receive tax exemptions
🔴 No import taxes for people who import sheeps, lambs or cows. The goal is to reduce meat prices
🔴 The price of cars above 400,000 dirhams will be increased
🔴 A 400 million dirhams fund will be created to encourage the use of Amazigh
🔴 18 billion will be used to subsidize sugar, bread and botagaz.
🔴 2 new faculties of medicine will be built in Settat and Kenitra. 1 faculty of dentistry in Oujda/Agadir.
🔴 All E-cigarettes will be taxed at 100 dirhams minimum, even if they contain no tobacco.
Every part will be debated by the Financial Commission of Parliament. Each member represents a part of Morocco. One guy represents Safi. Some dudes are from Casa. One woman represents Ouarzazate. Another is from Laayoune. People are like "What does my representative do?" . Well, you can watch.
They can demand specific changes from Finance Minister Fouzi Lakjaa. The whole process will take 40 hours. Other meetings are scheduled this week. PAM and RNI have more speaking time, because they won more seats.
The final version is voted at the end of November.

Hey everyone , I’m originally Egyptian and Syrian and I recently moved to Spain. You guys are the closest thing to us in terms of culture and food and I’ve been very slowly learning but the language barrier sucks because I can barely understand Darija and you guys barely understand my Arabic , plus I still don’t know Spanish so it’s been difficult communicating so far. I grew up on Syrian / Levantine food mainly since my mom is Syrian .
Where I live there’s no Arabic food only Moroccan food and Turkish kebabs.I’ve only had the courage to try the tacos because it’s the closest thing to shawerma I can find , much much better than the Turkish kebabs lol . If you’ve lived around Levantine people , what would you say are the Moroccan dishes that I should start out with? (Not a big fan of couscous even though my family loves it) I’m really interested in trying the tajins but I have no clue where to start and the fruit being mixed in it kind of threw me off , even though it’s most likely good. I’m planning on going to a Moroccan restaurant on Friday to try something completely new , so any suggestions would be appreciated!!

After my humble experience as a student (I am still a student), I’ve tried a lot of studying techniques and methods, and I’ll break it down for you: they’re bullshit. To be honest, searching for methods to actually study is just procrastinating. Like, for real, why are you searching for how to study? The only thing that will help you study is studying: pen and paper, and plenty of practice exercises.
STOP OVERCOMPLICATING YOUR STUDIES.
Think of it as your job or your only way to succeed, not as something you can’t do because it’s hard.
Just go through your studies, and ALLAH will help.
Stay away from fake friends; real ones wouldn't tell you to go out randomly, out of nowhere.

I open my packs daily, and honestly I think it’s the perfect game for mobile. I’m seasonally competitive, but I mostly go for pack completion or my chase card. It’s easy to get the regular cards and go straight into competitive. I’m looking for someone to battle and collect with.
I’m also into every other Pokémon game, so if you play those too, say hi. What’s your favorite set so far?

Been with my Moroccan bf long distance for a year.
3 days ago, we had a phone call that he ended, and he stopped replying to my texts that day. He posted IG stories of enjoying a day off camping yesterday.
Our disagreement: he told me I should pay for him and I to go on a faraway vacation. He earns less income than me, but I still dont make much. Recently he has told me how to spend my money: I need to lend him thousands for his visa application to my country, and now this trip he wants. Ive paid for my flights & our accommodation for our last 2 visits (I think its fair I pay proportionately more for our visits to maintain our relationship). But feeling entitled to ask me for a luxury vacation when I wouldnt even send myself there feels crazy to me? What bothers me is the financial entitlement attitude.
I said this and he pulled back affection (he has a pattern of hanging up, withdrawing affection, silent treatment when mad or when I dont do what he wants - whether sexually, or even when he felt entitled to a small object of mine.
I pointed this out and thats when he ended the phone call and disappeared.
I cant tell if it's punishment, shame, or he's done and afraid to say so.
Hes also had some controlling and double standard patterns. He is highly defensive, blame shifts, has called me names (I've never called him names). He lied about being STI tested (and still refuses to do it!). He hung up on me when I wouldnt do what he wanted for a sex fantasy and only called me back when I agreed to comply.
We've had a strong connection and he's been like my best friend. I love him a lot.
But i also know the relationship is not healthy or abusive. I've self abandoned and excused his behavior too much.
He's never gone more than a few hours without contact, so ghosting for 3 days is a new level of hurt and disrespect.
But it also makes me clearer I need to leave and less guilty about doing it. I think i feel numb right now. Ive spent over a year second guessing myself and whats normal.

Salam everyone!
I've been wondering for a while about the financial side of owning a car in Morocco, especially for people earning an average Moroccan salary.
I'm curious about the real costs beyond just buying the car. Things like fuel, insurance, taxes, maintenance, repairs, parking, and loan payments if applicable. And more importantly, can you actually use the car as often as you would like to, or do you feel restricted
For those of you who own a car, I'd love to hear about your experience:
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who bought a car with their own salary rather than having it paid for by their family.
I'm not looking for exact figures if you're not comfortable sharing. Even rough estimates and personal experiences would be really helpful.
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I'm currently completing my end-of-studies internship at a research institute in France, and I'm looking for volunteers to help me with my research experiment.
The study involves two online sessions, each lasting around 30–60 minutes, with at least 48 hours between them. You'll use a computer to complete some simple tasks and short tests.
You don't need any prior experience, technical skills, or knowledge of the subject. All you need is a computer and a basic understanding of English.
I'm reaching out to the Moroccan community because each participant genuinely helps me move my research forward and complete this important part of my Master's degree. If you have an hour or two to spare over a few days, your help would mean a lot to me! 🙏🙏🙏
If you're interested, feel free to comment or send me a private message, and I'll share all the details.
I'm also happy to answer any questions about the study, my internship, or my research experience in France 👌🏼
Thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to help. I really appreciate it! 🙏

I’m wondering if I’m the only one who has been tasting this weird taste in Sidi Ali’s water recently, at least in the medium bottles. It tastes like chemicals. Is it a problem with me snd my tastebuds or is there actually something wrong or different with it.

Hi everyone,
I have a Master degree titled “Master en santé publique” and would like to use it to work in Germany.
Has anyone been through the recognition or assessment process for a similar qualification? Is a Statement of Comparability from ZAB sufficient, or would I need to contact another authority because the degree is health-related? Does it depend on the job I’m applying for?
I’d appreciate any experiences with the process, required documents, and processing times.
Thanks!

Hello - we plan on traveling to see the solar eclipse next year in northern Morocco. We currently have a reservation in the path of totality outside of Tangier, but it is grossly over-priced for what it is (over $10K USD for just three nights for a family of 4) in a very nice, but not top-tier hotel with no Moroccan character.
We've been toying with the idea of instead staying in Rabat (at least 1.5 hours away from the path of totality without traffic), and for less than half the cost could get two rooms and an extra night at either the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton and brave what I'm sure will be crazy traffic (guessing at least 3-5 hours each way for that day) and figuring out a random viewing spot. Would love to get your opinions on if you'd save the $$ and stay in Rabat and hire a driver for the day of the eclipse (unknowns of where to view, crowds, bathroom availability, etc.) or stick with the hotel with far less character and huge price gouging for the convenience of being able to stay on property for the event.
If you were to stay in Rabat, which hotel would you choose (historical buildings at the Four Seasons, closer to the city center or sprawling property with huge rooms and less character outside of the city at the Ritz)?
Thanks in advance!

I've been thinking about making the switch to an electric or hybrid car, especially with fuel prices being what they are lately. The idea of spending less on fuel sounds great, but I'm not sure whether the savings actually justify the purchase price, and I'm a little concerned about charging infrastructure, battery life, maintenance, and resale value here in Morocco.
For those of you who own or have driven an EV or hybrid in Morocco, I'd love to hear about your experience!
Is it genuinely cheaper to run? How practical is charging, especially if you live in an apartment or travel between cities? Have you encountered any unexpected costs or problems?
And for those who've considered switching but decided to stick with petrol or diesel, what made you change your mind?
I'm trying to figure out whether making the switch is actually worth it in the long run, so any advice, recommendations, or honest experiences would be really appreciated! 😊

We all know about the parking lot attendant shenanigans when you park your car and when you come back, a dude suddenly materializes pretending to be the parking lot attendant and so he needs 10 dhs for “watching” your car.
Today, I parked in a parking area with a parking ticket machine. As I was walking to the machine to put money in and get my ticket, a dude suddenly materialized and told me some phony story about how he’s the attendant and he will get me the parking paper from the machine, and I can just pay him 5 dhs when I leave. I didn’t want to argue so I said fine. When I came back, I found a very used up paper printout from the machine that had of course expired but the dude was nowhere to be seen so I just drove off.
Anybody else had this happen to them? What are these new parking ticket machine shenanigans?
This was in Rabat.
