2 months ago my gm left my old hotel I worked at and our agm began power tripping. I got moved to being a housekeeper instead of a houseman because they outsourced to many employees. Its a monday and as always she "called" out over the weekend again letting my boss the housekeeping manager run the whole hotel. Normally we all take our breaks at exactly 12:00 noon because if we don't we wouldn't get to take them since guest start checking in at 2:00pm. Over the weekend a karen was mad that she couldn't get her room at 12:00 since we all went on break and left a bad review. So our idiot agm decided to side with the karen and implemented the policy no one goes on break anymore until you have EXACTLY 3 rooms done. No ifs ands or buts.

Now que malicious compliance, I was a special housekeeper since I got thrown into the posistion I normally did only stay over service or only had 2 checkouts. You would think that since I only had a max of 2 check outs I could take a break afterwards right? Nope! Her own words were EXACTLY 3 checkouts. so I started not taking breaks at all. About 1 month goes by and it starts to add up that I got 24 hours of overtime for the month and corporate was pissed!!! Not only did the agm get grilled by h.r for letting me get overtime she also got grilled for not making me take a lunch. She quickly changed the policy back to 12:00 noon and for my last 2 weeks there would call me at 11:55 and tell me to go clock out and take a break. The best part is the other housekeepers before the change were not going on break until 3:30-4:00 so rooms were not getting done until 5:00 and her front desk team had to make guest wait which also got her in even more trouble.
