I'm wondering if anyone has similar experience or some kind of advice.
I have been living in Canada since January 2025 when I arrived on working holiday visa. I live with my partner who is Canadian citizen and we are common-law.
My WH was expiring in January and I applied for Visitor record before it expired. I thought that visitor record is just like regular tourist and you could apply only for 6 months, so I applied till July 27th.
In June we applied for common-law in-land PR, unfortunately got application returned as there were some mistakes, but successfully applied again in July (before 27th). Month later I received AOR and in September I applied for OWP.
The visitor record was in processing for the entire time and when I was trying to figure out if i have to apply for new one before the July 27th everything and everyone was saying I should wait, stay in Canada until they get back to me. Couldn't leave because that would void the Visitor Record application and IRCC website says not to submit multiple applications of one thing if the first one is still processing.
Well I got mail yesterday that I was refused Visitor Record, because its after July 27th (duh) and they dont think I will leave country. In the note was mentioned that they have my PR application but no mention of my OWP application. So I fell out of status........
Now what do i do? Website says apply for restoration, but that whole thing is so confusing and I have no idea how to fill correctly dates as I dont have expiration date of my current status and so on.
In my understanding, I have to apply for restoration and then possible re-apply for visitor record or should I just leave Canada and come back? I dont want to lose my OWP application... as it wasn't addressed yet in any way, I only have confirmation of submitting.
The only thing that makes me calm is that the PR application is safe even if i fell out of status and even if i leave for a short amount of time.
I will appreciate any experience with this or any advice how to proceed.... Im about to start panicking.
