Hiring [HIRING] Box cover + 4 character for a dark-fantasy board game $800 - $1,200

Hi,

I have designed a 1–4 player co-operative dark-fantasy deckbuilding campaign. 25 quests, all written, rules finished, and there's a free playable demo online already. The one thing it doesn't have is a face.

---

THE JOB — TWO PARTS

  1. ONE PAINTED BOX COVER

The concept: a country that darkness has covered but not finished. Most of the image is deep, absolute royal purple. Scattered through it are pools of warm light — small scenes still happening inside the dark.

Foreground, dominant: four travellers on a high ridge, seen from behind, lit by a single raised lantern / light source. They're tired, geared for a long walk, no weapons drawn. They're looking out at the country below. This lantern is the brightest point in the image and the anchor of the whole composition.

Middle and far distance: the land falls away into darkness. Within it, five or six smaller pools of light, each a readable little scene, each smaller and cooler than the last — a village burning far off Ā· a single lit window in a ruined tower Ā· a merchant's cart alone on an empty road Ā· a small campfire with figures round it Ā· one cold silver light along a distant wall.

The dark between them is not fog or mist. It's absence — flat, matte, no detail rendered in it.

Mood: endurance, not action. A party at the start of a very long walk through a country that is going out.

Composition: lantern in the lower third as the focal point; the distant lights lead the eye up and back. Leave the top quarter darker and quieter for the title.

Critical: at 300 pixels wide a viewer must still see figures with a light, and a dark land with other lights in it. If the small vignettes turn to noise at that size, make them fewer and larger. One dominant light, everything else subordinate.

  1. FOUR CHARACTER BUSTS — in a different style, deliberately

The cards in this game use a woodcut / engraving style — bold ink line, no painting. I'd like the four heroes to match that, not the cover.

Chest-up, three-quarter view, plain ground. A human knight, an elven ranger, a human mage, a troll shaman. Weathered, tired, mid-forties rather than heroic twenties. *

---

PALETTE

#241934 deep violet Ā· #3D2A5C royal purple Ā· #C9A64E muted gold

Style notes: painterly, oil-on-panel feel for the cover. No glow effects, no rim lighting, no rendered-3D look.

---

BUDGET, TERMS, TIMELINE

$800–$1,400 USD for the cover and four heroes together — tell me your split. Cover alone is fine too if heroes aren't your thing; say so.

Includes **full commercial rights** (print, digital, marketing, merchandise).

2–6 weeks. Not urgent — I'd rather it be right than fast.

You'll get: a full written brief, the exact hex palette, composition notes, and the rulebook if you want the world. Then I get out of your way.

---

MORE WORK AFTER THIS

The game needs around 39 creature illustrations. I can't fund those yet — they're a large part of what the crowdfunding campaign is for.

TO APPLY: portfolio link and your rate for this scope. If you've done tabletop, book covers or any similar work, mention it. I reply to everyone.

The game itself and direction of the art we are looking for can be found at https://demo-game.rylio.com and https://rylio.com

Thanks,

Hiring [HIRING] Dark Fantasy Illustrator for Original Board Game (Budget up to €15,000)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an artist to help bring my board game The Gatekeepers to life.

I've been working on this game for almost five years, and after a lot of designing and playtesting, it's finally at the point where I'm ready to start commissioning artwork.

The project currently consists of around 80 unique illustrations (though that number may still change a little during development).

I'm looking for someone who enjoys drawing things like:

  • Fantasy weapons
  • Spells and magical effects
  • Character abilities and perks
  • Demons
  • Undead
  • Cyclopes
  • Elementals
  • Bosses and other dark fantasy creatures

One thing that's really important to me is that every card has its own identity. I don't want the artwork to feel like the same composition repeated over and over. I'd love every illustration to feel like its own little piece of fantasy art.

I also really like artwork that interacts with the card itself. For example, a huge sword breaking out of the artwork frame, flames from a fire spell burning into the border, or a dragon's wing extending beyond the layout. Those kinds of little details make cards feel alive and memorable, and I'd love to work with an artist who's excited by that sort of thing.

I'm hoping to find someone interested in a long-term collaboration rather than just a few commissions. I'd love to start with a handful of illustrations first and, if we're both happy, continue with the rest of the project.

The budget for the project is up to €15,000, depending on the artist and the final scope of the work.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy working on, I'd love to see your portfolio and hear about your rates.

Feel free to comment below or send me a DM.

Prototype Artwork

Below are a few prototype cards using temporary AI artwork. They're simply there to give an idea of the atmosphere, themes and variety of illustrations I'm looking for. All final artwork will, of course, be completely original.

Thanks for reading!

Hiring [Hiring] 3 novel covers. Budget of 200-400€ per cover

Hello,

I am a Spanish independent writer. I am looking for an illustrator interested in working on the covers of the novels that I have written in the last couple of years and that I plan to self-publish starting in early 2027.

Right now, I am working on preparing three novels that I have written over the last couple of years for publishing, and I would love to have all three of them illustrated by the same artist. For all of my novels, I have a tendency to associate a color with them depending on the emotions I want to communicate. So I had this idea of having covers with minimalistic backgrounds (little to no elements) of the novels' predominant color and then a more detailed illustration of some character (or characters in the case of one of the novels). For this reason, I am looking for an artist well versed in drawing characters and facial expressions.

Of course, I will provide the artist with a full description of the characters, and any minimalistic background element I have in mind. Also, while I have my ideas about how I would like the covers to be, I am open to suggestions by the artist. In general, as per my ideas, the artists will need to draw characters (never more than two per cover), both human and one non-human (humanoid, who should also be pointing a firearm) with special attention to their faces.

My budget is in the range of 200-400 euros per cover. Please note that, while my preference would be for the same artist to illustrate all three covers, my priority is getting the first cover (for the book due to be published early 2027) done. I am open to negotiating work only for that cover if the artist does not want to compromise to three covers outright.

Disclaimer: I do NOT use AI in any part of my creative process. As such, I will not accept any art created with AI.

Hiring [Hiring] Artists who are willing to create and draw an original character (OC) based on descriptions and turnaround sheet provided (50-420 USD)

I am looking for skilled artists who can bring characters vividly to life based on written descriptions. This project involves creating a full turnaround and highly detailed character reference sheets for my original supervillain.

Nazara (Rajan Verma) — Character Overview

Rajan Verma, known as Nazara (नज़र, meaning ā€œvisionā€), is a 36-year-old supervillain and anti-villain from Varanasi, India. He serves as Heinrich Schreiber’s right-hand enforcer at Stormcast. Tall, lean yet muscular, and quietly imposing, Nazara is a disciplined warrior who values precision, strategy, honor, and self-control over brute force or unnecessary cruelty.

Born into a family burdened by a dangerous hereditary power in the left eye, Rajan dedicated his youth to training his body and mind rather than awakening the ability. A near-fatal encounter eventually triggered the power, leaving his face permanently scarred. His altered eye grants him X-ray, thermal, and telescopic vision, as well as the devastating Judgment Beam. Fearful of what unchecked power could make him become, Rajan keeps the eye covered with an eyepatch, only unveiling it when extreme force is absolutely necessary.

As Nazara, he fights with deliberate, economical movements, favoring calculated counters. His signature weapon is the Ganges Cleaver—a massive, four-foot dark-steel blade. The sword’s river-like engravings glow crimson during a fully committed strike, channeling tremendous pressure through its impact.

Though ruthless when necessary, Nazara is not blindly loyal to Heinrich. He works for Stormcast because the role allows him to exercise his formidable abilities according to his own code. Beneath his intimidating exterior lies a sophisticated, proud, and honorable man, perpetually keeping something monstrous within himself under control.

Once I have selected an artist, I will provide further character details and reference materials to help realize my vision.

Thank you for your interest in this project!

The budget for this project ranges from $50 to $420 USD.

Hiring [Hiring] [$700] Looking for an artist for my DnD party of 5, alternative styles welcome!

Hi folks,

Super straightforward request here. Dnd Campaign coming to a close 3rd week of June and previous attempts at finding an artist haven't gone all too well.

This will be a priority job it must be be complete in 3/4 weeks.

I am in GMT +1 time so looking for someone similar to myself or willing to be regularly available during "EU hours"

Psst I really like watercolor so that is totally an option (digital watercolor).

It's a party of 5 and we have very detailed references for them all. Looking to get started on this asap so will choose someone in under 24 hours. We're open to various styles and often the standardised DnD look falls a little flat for me so if anything the more unique the better.

Budget is negotiable but will provide good ballpark.

Any questions let me know and no I won't respond to you if your name is Jessica Smith and you send me your portfolio via DM through a dodgy google drive (if your name actually is Jessica Smith I'm sorry don't take it to heart haha).

Hiring [Hiring] Talented artists to illustrate one member of an original character trio (OCs) based on detailed descriptions and a provided turnaround sheet. Budget: $50–$400.

I am seeking skilled artists who can bring characters vividly to life from written descriptions. The project involves designing a full turnaround and creating detailed character reference sheets for my original supervillain sister trio.

There are two important guidelines to follow:

1. I will commission artwork for one character at a time.

2. Once I have completed each commission, I will notify you if and when I am ready to proceed with the next character at another time.

That covers the main process for now.

Below are descriptions and key details of the Scarlet Sisters: The Scarlet Sisters are a trio of Romanian supervillain sisters whose identities are defined by wrath, envy, and pride, expressed through their powers, personalities, and Gothic Drăculea heritage. Born in Sighișoara, Romania, they are sophisticated, coordinated villains rather than disposable henchwomen, operating as elite enforcers for Heinrich Schreiber while maintaining their own agency and ambitions.

Ruby Drăculea — Ruxandra
Age: 26 | Sin: Wrath | Power: Fire
Ruby is the impulsive and aggressive middle sister—the trio’s frontline powerhouse. She creates and controls fire, shaping it into blasts, walls, whips, blades, and other weapons. Her anger can dramatically amplify her destructive abilities, making her flames hot enough to melt metal and trigger enormous explosions.

Her personality is passionate, confrontational, impatient, and adrenaline-driven. She prefers direct combat over elaborate schemes and despises weakness and hesitation. Beneath that volatile temperament, however, Ruby is fiercely loyal to her sisters.

Her Romanian-Gothic appearance reinforces her wrath: glowing red hair, ember-like amber eyes, crimson leather armor, scorched metal plates engraved with Carpathian fire runes, and an obsidian pendant associated with a ruined fortress hearth. Her flaming-serpent-and-heart tattoo erupts into glowing, rune-like fiery veins when her power intensifies.

Sapphire Drăculea — Sorina
Age: 28 | Sin: Envy | Power: Water & Ice
Sapphire is the eldest and most strategic sister. Calm, calculating, and controlled, she serves as the trio’s tactical mind and frequently has to compensate for Ruby’s impulsiveness and Emerald’s theatrics. Beneath her composure lies envy—particularly resentment toward people who possess recognition, abilities, or advantages she desires.

Her water-and-ice manipulation emphasizes battlefield control. She can produce barriers, ice shards, freezing storms, traps, glacial armor, tidal attacks, and precision strikes while manipulating existing water or atmospheric moisture.

Visually, Sapphire resembles a Gothic ice queen: crystalline blue hair, pale glacial eyes, a flowing noblewoman’s coat, silver armor and frost-like runes. Her cracked-mirror tattoo represents envy—the reflection of what others possess that she secretly desires.

Emerald Drăculea — Elisabeta
Age: 25 | Sin: Pride | Powers: Hypnosis & Illusions
Emerald is the youngest, most psychologically oriented sister. Seductive, cunning, theatrical, prideful, and manipulative, she would rather control someone’s perception than overpower them physically. She thrives on admiration and considers beauty, sophistication, and mental dominance expressions of superiority.

Her hypnosis allows her to influence or control minds, while her illusions can manipulate what victims see, hear, and feel. At greater power levels, she can affect multiple minds simultaneously and transform an entire battlefield into a shared illusion.

Her appearance resembles an aristocratic Gothic enchantress: flowing emerald hair, hypnotically luminous eyes, shifting silk covered in occult patterns, and a cape resembling enchanted fog. A peacock-feather tattoo winds around her arm; hidden eyes within it awaken when her abilities activate, symbolizing vanity, surveillance, seduction, and control.

The Sisters Together
Their differences are deliberately complementary: Ruby is passion and aggression, Sapphire is reason and strategy, and Emerald is perception and control. They fight accordingly—Ruby pressures opponents directly, Sapphire controls the environment, and Emerald disrupts enemies psychologically. They willingly employ coordinated three-against-one tactics, distractions, ambushes, elemental combinations, and synchronized intimidation.

Despite being villains who pursue power, control, and superiority, their relationship isn’t merely practical. They genuinely love one another. They argue and clash because their personalities are dramatically different, but threatening one sister means confronting all three. Their family bond is simultaneously their greatest strength and a potential vulnerability.

Their association with Heinrich Schreiber is especially dangerous. They work as his elite enforcers on espionage, sabotage, and elimination assignments, but Heinrich secretly possesses the ability to permanently replicate and strip powers from living superhumans. Consequently, the sisters are valuable assets to a man who could potentially destroy the very thing that makes them extraordinary.

The Scarlet Force
Their ultimate expression of sisterhood is The Scarlet Force, a fusion created when Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald achieve perfect emotional and mental synchronization. Rooted in forbidden Romanian blood magic, it combines fire, ice/water, hypnosis, and illusion into a single mythic entity embodying their shared Drăculean legacy.

The Scarlet Force is more than a stronger version of the sisters: it represents unity through sin and power through sisterhood. Ruby supplies passion and destructive force, Sapphire provides structure and tactical control, and Emerald contributes psychological dominance and regal self-assurance. Its appearance resembles a towering supernatural executioner clad in shifting Gothic regalia, bearing the symbol of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Its greatest weakness mirrors its greatest strength. The fusion depends upon their emotional harmony. If wrath, envy, pride, distrust, or exhaustion destroys that synchronization, the Scarlet Force violently collapses in an explosion of fire, frost, and illusion, throwing all three sisters apart and leaving them temporarily weakened.

In essence, The Scarlet Sisters are three distinct manifestations of destructive personality traits—Ruby’s wrath, Sapphire’s envy, and Emerald’s pride—bound together by genuine sisterly devotion. Their combination of elemental devastation, psychological warfare, Romanian Gothic bloodline mythology, coordinated tactics, and occasionally contentious family chemistry makes the sisterhood itself the central source of their identity and power.

Once I’ve selected an artist, I’ll provide more additional character details and reference materials to help bring my vision to life.

And remember, I will commission one sister at a time.

I appreciate your interest! See you soon.

Budget: $50–$400 per character.

Hi there! I’m 22yo Female who is currently working 52 hours per week, in school full time, and I am BURSTING with creative ideas for this story I’m working on. Hiring [HIRING] Budget: $150 – Looking for an Artist for My Original Character

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for an artist to help me finalize the design of my original character. I’ve been developing her for a while, and I’m ready to have a professional artist create the definitive version.

Her name is Sienna Vale. She’s 30 years old, 5’1ā€, and has a genuinely petite build. One thing that’s really important to me is keeping her proportions natural for someone her height. She has big dark curly hair, warm brown eyes, light freckles, and a warm, friendly smile. Lavender is her signature color.

I’m looking for someone who enjoys drawing expressive characters and can capture a kind, approachable personality. I want her to look like someone people would instantly like and remember.

My budget is around $150 USD, depending on the artist and what’s included. If you’re interested, please leave a link to your portfolio or send me a message with your commission information.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to working with someone who enjoys character design as much as I do.

Hiring [HIRING] Looking for an artist to help with fantasy character designs + Reference sheets. 6 characters total for $600

Hello! My name is Raymond. I'm currently in the process of writing a fantasy book and I'm trying to get the character designs down. I have Six main characters in my story that will be the focus of this project. I need a talented artist to help me design each one, as well as create a reference sheet for each one to be used in future commissions.

I would love someone who would be okay with using voice communications, (preferably discord) just to make the conversations easier.

My projected cost for this is $600, but over time if the project is larger, I have no issue going higher than that.

This project will have a lot of back and forth and tweaks on character designs, so as long as you are okay with that.

I will have a trial run before committing to an artist. If I enjoy your style, then I will commission a small $50 sketch of one of my characters to see your artists vision.

Attached below are some sketches of characters I already have done. This is a low fantasy setting and a gritty realistic world, the character designs should match.

Thank you for your interest!

Hiring [Hiring] $120 budget PayPal only :) Looking for someone to draw an OC and a character from NIKKE in an Anime style.

Post image
114 Upvotes

Hopefully the price is fair ($60 for each), if not I can pay some more depending on how detailed it is. Looking for the two characters to be drawn in the pose pictured or something similar. I’d also like you to share how progress is being made as time goes on so I can make sure it’s not ai and ask for small revisions if need be.

The NIKKE is Nihilister, I’d like her to be drawn in a nice dress of your own design or one I can make myself that you can improve on as I’m a terrible artist.

The OC has a suit of knight armor but his face is revealed. I have a commissioned piece of his armor from a while ago but I never got his face drawn. I’ll tell you more details if I decide to work with you. He does have curly hair which is hard to draw in my opinion.

Please only comment if you can draw in an anime style, and include the word PokĆ©mon in your comment (with the accent) along with your previous works. I also prefer to talk on Discord as well. And the final thing is that I ask you to not share the art to your socials or anywhere. I don’t like others to see what I have commissioned.

Hiring [Hiring] Book cover artist for a dark fantasy/romantasy novel (front, spine, back + interior first page) | Commercial use | BUDGET: $500-800

Hi all! I'm a new author planning to self-publish a dark fantasy/romantasy book and I'm looking for an artist to design the front cover, spine, back cover, and an interior first page. The book will be 5.5 x 8.5 that will most likely be published through KDP.

I will of course go into more detail about the novel itself when we communicate, that way you get the best possible idea for this besides the visual aspect.

This isn't something I need right away. I'm just scoping out my options right now so I can plan and budget ahead of time. It's also the first book in a trilogy, so I'd love to find someone I can keep working with for the rest of the series. I am also open to a lot of creative freedom, so long as it matches my vision/mood board.

I'm on a smaller budget, but I'm willing to work around a higher one if needed, so we can work something out! This is also my first time doing something like this, so I am not too sure of what typical budgets are like for this type of work. Since this will be for future work (within the next 3-4 months, most likely), my budget is about $400-800. Again, I am willing to work around that as I am unsure of the range of quotes for this type of work. I'd also prefer a half up-front half upon delivery model, but am totally okay planning to pay up front if I decide to move forward.

If you're interested, drop your portfolio in the comments. I'd especially love to see any dark or fantasy work you've done. Thank you!

Hiring [Hiring] Fantasy artist for DnD character portrait, half/full body ($50-200)

Hello all, I'm looking for a traditional or digital artist to draw a portrait for my DnD character, complete with colour and simple background detailing. Since the character is an artificer, I am particularly interested in artists with experience merging technological and high fantasy aesthetics - think scifi punk genres like steampunk, cyberpunk, etc.

My timeline is flexible, and I'm still deciding on art style so I welcome any relevant character design portfolios.

Thank you!

Hiring [Hiring] Large DnD Party Illustration - Near limitless budget, more info description.

Hello,

Fresh account because I know bots will spam me but if you would like to see proof of previous commission pieces I've paid for I can share that.

I DM a campaign that will be ending in June. There are 6 players meaning 7 of us total. We would ideally also like to have 2-3 core NPC's featured in the art.

We are super flexible with style and whilst we're happy to spend a large amount for the right artists to us more expensive/more realistic doesn't necessarily mean better so definitely hope that some of you with more alternative art styles also reach out.

To make sure I satisfy the criteria of this post assume the budget to be easily $1000+

I have thorough descriptions of all characters but until we get to a point that we establish a price I will keep descriptives low just to ensure neither my time nor your time is being wasted.

I hope to hear from many of you - if you're an AI or spam account don't waste your time

Hiring [Hiring] DnD Character budget somewhere from $50-90

Hi everyone!! I want to commission an artist to make a drawing of my DnD character.

I just got a job and have real money so there is a potential for me to later contact you if all goes well to ask for one of my other characters, but I will just be asking for one for now. My budget is 50-90 so we can work together to see in your pricing if that would mean I get a headshot or a full body, etc. just depending on what you charge. You having an art style that matches with what I am looking for is the most important even if your prices are higher than someone else’s.

Please NO AI ARTISTS!!

Full disclosure: when I created this character a couple of years ago I was dumb and uninformed and used generative ai to make a character photo. I have since then become more informed on it and stopped using the image for anything. Now that I have the money for it I would love to have an image to use again, but I want to do it the right way this time by paying an artist.

The character is a half elf type character but with very chaotic energy. I think the most important thing to me with the art is that is captures her energy well. I will DM you with more details and to talk pricing etc if I like the portfolio you post! Warning, I have never commissioned art before so this is all very new for me.

Thank you in advance for the time everyone takes to send me their portfolios in the comments! I know just posting portfolios in millions of comments to get work has to be exhausting so I appreciate you.

Hiring [HIRING] Two-character action illustration, single image — $500 USD, full commercial rights, indie book promo

Hi all — I run Nostone Media, a solo indie studio. I publish two novels in a shared universe: an epic fantasy (The Nine Bishops, Q1 2027) and a cyberpunk thriller (The Crater, Dec 2026). I'm hiring one artist to illustrate both protagonists together in a single promo image.

**THE BRIEF**

One illustration, two characters, dynamic action pose, unified art style.

This is a canon crossover — a mage and a street-level shooter from opposite ends of the same universe, sharing one frame. The interesting problem is finding a visual language that holds high fantasy and neon cyberpunk together without either one looking like a guest star. That's the part I most want to see your take on.

**WHAT MATTERS MOST**

Character, not just costume. These two have very different personalities and I want that legible at a glance — in the stance, the face, the weight, the attitude. Someone should be able to look at this image with no context and tell you what each of them is like. If your work makes characters feel like people rather than mannequins in good outfits, we'll get along.

**CHARACTERS**

• **Mika** (The Nine Bishops — fantasy): Auburn hair. Slight, lean mage build. Shorter of the two. Her signature is her eyes — iridescent, shifting through a full spectrum. She fights with ice magic: frost geometry, shards, cold light, breath fog. The cool half of the palette.

Her archetype matters as much as her look. Mika is strong and confident, but grounded and relatable — the kind of protagonist a reader sees herself in. Not an idealized fantasy heroine. Her power should read from her stance and her expression, not from her proportions.

• **Millie** (The Crater — cyberpunk): Taller, with real height contrast against Mika. Loud neon palette, punk energy, chaotic confidence. Loose oversized jacket over a crop top printed with the logo of an in-world punk band, The Vanguards. Loose-fitting pants. Carries a shotgun. Chewing gum — keep it, it's the whole read on her attitude. The hot half of the palette.

The cool/warm split between them is intentional and I'd love to see it drive the lighting.

**TONE NOTE**

Both should read as capable and dangerous. Keep poses functional and grounded in the action — fighters mid-fight, not glamour shots. No fan-service framing or contorted posing for either of them. Millie's crop top is punk, not sexualized.

Full reference sheets and written descriptions available on request.

**STYLE DIRECTION**

Stylized, semi-realistic, painterly. High contrast, cinematic lighting. I'll share a reference board once we're talking. Open to your interpretation — I'm hiring you for your eye, not to trace a mood board.

**DELIVERABLES**

• 1 finished illustration, full color, full body, both characters
• Print resolution, 300 DPI, landscape orientation
• Layered source file (PSD/CSP)
• Each character exported separately as a transparent PNG, so I can use them individually in later promo assets
• Background-free version of the full composition

Background can stay simple — gradient, abstract, or suggested environment. I don't need a full painted scene, and I'd rather the budget go into the figures.

**USAGE**

Commercial. Social media, my website, newsletters, ads, possibly print marketing. Not a book cover. No merchandise resale. Priced accordingly — I'm not asking for a personal-use rate on commercial work, and I'm happy to sign a written agreement covering scope.

You keep full portfolio rights, and I credit you by name and handle everywhere the image runs.

**BUDGET & TIMELINE**

• $500 USD
• PayPal invoice, 50% up front / 50% on delivery — or milestone-based (sketch / lineart / final) if you prefer
• Target delivery: end of September. I know that's a short runway — early October works for the right artist. Please tell me your realistic timeline rather than one you think I want to hear. I'd rather wait than rush the work

**ONE REQUIREMENT**

Human-made only. No AI generation or AI-assisted rendering at any stage. I'll ask to see WIPs — sketch, lineart, flats, render — as part of the normal process, so please only apply if you're comfortable sharing progress.

**TO APPLY**

Comment with your portfolio and I'll DM you. What I'm looking for:

• Stylized female character work — this is the main thing. I want to see women you've drawn who have distinct personalities, not one face repeated with different hair
• Expressive faces and body language
• Action poses and dynamic figure work
• Multi-character compositions
• Bonus: anything where you've held two different aesthetics in one piece

Include your rate for this scope and your availability. And if you're up for it: which of the two would you rather draw, and why? I'm curious how you read them.

I read every reply and I'll respond either way. Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Hiring [Hiring] $200 Seeking New Main Artist

I'm preparing for a website relaunch for my series, and I'm looking to finally get a new artist after my old one retired. I'm looking for someone who can bring some life, aura, and style to my characters like never before. I need someone hungry to sink their teeth into the more of what they're drawing, someone who gets almost as excited about it as I do. I want someone I can bounce ideas off of and cheer with about how sick their newest piece looks. If you think this sounds like something that's up you're alley, show me some refs in the comments!

The series is very urban, as it's taking place in the modern era and influenced heavily by it as someone who grew up in the early 2000s. The characters are super powered, but they're not super heroes, most of them are children.

Attached are some pictures which sort of convey the style I'm trying to lean towards. I get excited about things like heavy lines, cell shading, vibrant colors and dynamic posing.

Hiring [Hiring] A Male Character Portrait Artist, 4 Needed, $500 Budget

Hi, I'm an author looking to work with a portrait artist for an upcoming project. I would need 4 different male characters drawn, just chest up/bust, no background. The plan is to use these to create character photocards, so I'll need commercial use.

I'd like as realistic as possible, so nothing too cartoony (love this style, it's just not for this project). Please only reply if you think it would be possible for you to take this job within the budget, or if it'll only go a little bit over. Thank you!

Payment sent through PayPal, and in USD.

Hiring [Hiring] $50-$100 Budget, Art for the Main Villain of my D&D Campaign - Similar Vibe to Official D&D Monster Stats

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting here but I’ve been a decently long time lurker!

We are reaching the apex of our campaign and the group is going to be facing the big bad of the campaign, a Dark Power they are responsible for releasing known as, ā€œThe Bone Kingā€. A Giant/Vampire/Lich type creature.

I am hoping for a style or vibe that is similar to some of the official and unofficial arts with a small background that fades off and into the page (Photos Provided) because I would love to be able to put the art onto the stat block I made for him. (this is for personal use and my own campaign, I do not plan on using this commercially I just like having cool shit lol) I am hoping for someone who has experience drawing creatures or at least fantasy work! My current budget is around $100.

Again I am new to commissioning on this subreddit so please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

Hiring [Hiring] Looking for an artist to create a character sheet for my original cyberpunk/japanese themed comic project

Hello! I’m currently looking for an artist who can help me design a character sheet for an original character from a comic project I’m developing.
The project combines cyberpunk aesthetics with Japanese folklore, featuring yokai, cybernetic technology, and a contrast between traditional elements and futuristic design. I’m looking for an artist who can capture a dark, stylish atmosphere with a strong Japanese-inspired identity.
I will provide a visual reference of a character design that inspired the general feeling I’m looking for. I really like the way it combines cyberpunk elements with Japanese themes, but I’m not looking for a copy of that character. The goal is to create something completely original that captures a similar atmosphere while developing its own identity.
The character does not have a finalized official design yet, so I’m giving the artist creative freedom to explore ideas. I would like to provide the main concepts and references, but I’m interested in seeing your own interpretation and creativity while keeping the core idea intact.
The character sheet would ideally include:
Full-body character design
Front/back/side views if possible
Several poses (neutral, action/combat, expressive poses, etc.)
Facial expressions
Details of important elements (clothing, accessories, weapons, cyberware, etc.)
I’m especially interested in artists who enjoy character design and worldbuilding, since this is part of a larger creative project.
Budget: $150–250 USD (negotiable depending on portfolio, experience, and the scope of the work)
If the collaboration goes well, I would also be interested in discussing future work on the comic itself and potentially exploring a long-term creative partnership.
If you’re interested, please comment or DM me with:
Your portfolio
Your rates
Examples of character design work
Thank you
Reference note:
The attached images are only being used as visual inspiration and reference for the overall aesthetic direction. All rights and ownership of the original character/design belong to their respective creator. I am not looking to copy or reproduce the character, but rather to capture a similar feeling and atmosphere while creating a completely original design.
