Was in a super toxic relationship before this, told me I wasn’t allowed to lose past 190lbs, well now I’m 138lbs (from 307) healthy, and also away from him, healed a lot mentally too which helped heal my relationship with food too, I walk a ton, planning a half marathon in may, worked super hard to get where I am today

Holistic Transformations (48) to (52) 52 years old. Still transforming. šŸ’Ŗ

Four years of progress, discipline, and showing up—even when it would have been easier to make excuses. This journey has taught me that fitness isn't about chasing perfection or trying to look young forever. It's about becoming stronger, healthier, and better than you were yesterday.
You don't need to wait for the perfect time, the perfect diet, or the next Monday to begin. You just need to take that first step and keep going. Lift weights, move your body every day, eat smart, get enough rest, and stay consistent. The results come from the habits you build over time, not from a few days of motivation.
India, stop waiting for Monday. Start today! šŸ‡®šŸ‡³
Whether you're 25, 45, 55, or beyond, it's never too late to invest in yourself. Start at your own level, be patient with your progress, and focus on building habits you can sustain for life.
Your future self will thank you for the choices you make today. Don't let age, excuses, or fear decide what you're capable of.
Start where you are. Stay consistent. Keep improving. Your journey is yours to create. šŸ”„

GLOW UP! Trying to be healthy for my kids (and me) [27] to almost [31]

I spent most of my 20's with my weight fluctuating from 180-220lbs. I'd go on crash diets until I got down to 180 or 190 and then give up thinking I could never get any lighter. I was not drinking enough water, I was constantly sitting around, eating huge portions of everything and had little concept of what was healthy and what wasn't. When I turned 30 I had my third kid and was 240 lbs. I decided it was time for a change. My husband and I put in a lot of work and learned so much about how to properly nourish our bodies and move more! I can't believe now in my 30's, and with 3 kids, I am the healthiest I have been in my life and feeling better than ever. I currently weigh 167 (at 5'9") and feel very comfortable here and am not trying to lose any more. My maintenance calories feel sustainable and I personally don't want to up my activity level just now. Maybe in the near future I'll feel differently, but I'm very grateful to be where I am!

Every day used to be a reminder that my time is fleeting, but i realised that I didn't want to go out slump-shouldered and afraid. I'm still here! And as long as I continue to be I'm gonna live my life. I'm happy now. And 3 years can change a man for the better.

Back in high school (especially during Covid lol) I was around 240lbs. Of course I got made fun of, but it was more motivation than a means to knock me down.

One of those days in second semester, I decided to start eating less, moving more and drink more water. I even got into calisthenics (my favorite lol).

Fast forward, I’m sitting at 155 lbs, and living the dream!

Here’s some before and after pics :)

GLOW UP! [22] to [24] from when my acne was healing from it’s worst to having found a mostly effective skincare routine

So obviously not just skincare I also lost weight (not on purpose!) and did some final growing into my looks after puberty, but a lot of it actually is skincare lol. I’m sure if I stopped eating sugar or whatever the breakouts I do still get would ease but man I wanna live a little you know. I’m sadly not doing well yet mentally but better than I was two years ago so that also helps! And yoga, love me some

Between 24 and 26, I made a lot of changes to my appearance, confidence, and overall lifestyle. One thing I’ve noticed is how differently people treat me now. People seem friendlier, more approachable, and more willing to start conversations. It’s been a surprising experience.

GLOW UP! Weight Loss Glow Up [42] to [43]

Post image

Back in May, I decided I wanted to lose weight, as I wasn't happy with how I looked and felt. I made some changes to my diet, with the biggest change being switching from regular soda and energy drinks to the sugar free versions.

I also started going for more walks, which eventually lead to adding running to the mix.

My goal was to lose 30 lbs between the beginning of May and October 17th, which was the date my friends and I did our yearly Ren Faire trip.

This was all done as a 43 year, just did 42 to 43 in the title since the first picture is from last year.

GLOW UP! Post Surgery!! [23] to [28]

Thumbnail
gallery
412 Upvotes

As you all can tell from my title - i was living with this rare disease called achalasia (undiagnosed) from 18 to 23. Essentially it’s where my esophagus is paralyzed so I can’t eat or drink any food/liquids normally. Because of this, as you can tell, my skin was very discolored due to malnutrition and I was very skinny.

Thankfully - I had a decent surgery and I am somewhat able to eat and drink food a bit more normal now! With that, I somehow managed to put on an additional 30 lbs and finally became healthy!!

There is technically no cure for my disease and I will be living like this for the rest of my life. But I made a vow that I will do EVERYTHING in my power to push through the pain and show the ones that has a rare disease that we are not defined by it. Our bodies is a reflection of our souls and if we take care of that diligently - we can always glo up everyday!

This by far from my best and I hope in the next 7 years I can post another glow up post and it’s me looking even better :)

EDIT - thank you for all the upvotes, did not expect it to reach a lot of people ā˜ŗļø if there’s any suggestions on how to improve my glow up for the next 5 years - would love to hear it!

GLOW UP! A year & a half of reacquiring my life! [27] to [28]

Thumbnail

I've finally decided to take the steps necessary to start gaining my life back! After a fairly intense calorie deficit I managed to lose over 100 lbs in less than a year and have been on maintenance for about 4 months. That combined with generally eating healthier, being more active, and better hygiene, I think I'm starting to get to a pretty good place.

I'm still in my "self improvement journey", but super happy with my progress so far

Grow up Every year (excluding 2025) from [15] to [19]

At 15, that was when I became more self conscious, and I actually started caring about how I looked. I started working out and eating more meat.

I remember I used to get made fun of for my hair, my teeth… and sometimes my eyes 🤣 and from primary school to late secondary school (before 6th Form), I never had a very high opinion of myself when it came to looks.

I tried changing my glasses, and kept changing my hair.

At 18, I started growing out my hair, and then I later buzzed and bleached it. I also stopped wearing glasses as much.

At 19 years old now, what I can say for certain is thatĀ everyoneĀ should experiment as much as they can, with as many different styles as possible. If I did not have those bad haircuts, I probably would not have found those good ones.

Ultimately, especially if you are young, there are hardly any consequences for experimentation (e.g. presentability when job-hunting). Stay brave, stay adventurous and stay happy!

*These pictures areĀ mostlyĀ in chronological order.

I truly thought I’d live my entire life with acne until I figured out what works for me and consistent hygiene changed my skin drastically.

No acutane, I used curology and never went to bed
With makeup on! Changed pillow cases every other night and never let greasy hair touch my face!

GLOW UP! Two years of hard work [38] to [39] to [40]

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

I decided to lose weight in 2024. I started counting my calories and aiming for 1200 a day using meal replacement shakes while also walking for an hour three times a week. When I was really heavy weight my body responded well to that deficit because I had so much fat reserves I didn't really get hungry. Like I felt hungry but it was more out of habit and actual for real I needed more nutrition. Eventually my walking became a walk/run combo until I was running more and more. Eventually I ran the entire time and started doing 3 miles several times a week. I just ran a half marathon a few weeks ago.
