Is it okay to apply for more than one role at the same company?

I keep seeing different opinions on this.

If a company has 2–3 open positions that genuinely match your experience, is it better to apply for all of them or pick just one?

Does applying to multiple roles make you look unfocused, or does it actually increase your chances of finding the right fit?

Curious what people here have experienced.

Overqualified, underexperienced,40F I just need a job asap even grocery but I’m worried they will know I’m just in a transitional phase

As the title says. I nearly have my Master’s degree but have not been able to find a job in the field that pays anything over $17.50. I need to at least make $25 an hour where I’m at.

A little background on me, four years ago I made $60k annually had always had a job. Then I had a health crisis, found out it was cancer and had to quit my job due to physical limitations per my doctor. Anyway so now I’m much better! I can’t do hard labor or stay on my feet for more than 4-5 hours.

What job will hire me right away? How do I explain the gap in employment?

I have enough money for November but not December so I need a job asap.

Thank you!

Any leads? Willing to be very humble here.

Looking for two references for a Senior Residence job

Hi everyone! I’m in a bit of an urgent situation and could really use some help. I’ve been hired for a dishwashing position at a senior living facility, and I need to provide two references as part of the hiring process. I’m trying to get everything together as soon as possible so I can move forward with the job.
I’m looking for people who might be willing to serve as professional references and can honestly speak to my reliability, responsibility, work ethic, or general character. If you’ve supervised employees, managed a team, or have experience providing professional references, I’d really appreciate your advice or help.

Should I inform companies about my planned travel during the interview process?

I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but I am planning on traveling in January and will be gone for about 3 weeks. I am currently in my job search and I have a couple interviews lined up that I am very confident about. My question is if I should make the companies aware of my travel during the interview process or wait until I receive an offer before I inform them. I would like to be upfront with them, but I’m worried that if I let them know too early they might reject me solely because of that, and I really am excited about these two opportunities I am interviewing for and would hate to be denied just because of that. I am also not someone who takes off work a lot so I don’t want this to give them the wrong impression of me. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Urgent Background verification advice required

Folks, i have been offered a job after 9 months of job hunting and they have sent me background verification where i have to submit last 5 years of employment.

I have a clear work history except at one job where i was involuntarily terminated for violating comp policy unknowingly, HR told me they only disclose the start and end date and role name not reason of termination.

For the new org and 3rd party which is doing BGV they have drop down options for “reason of leaving” including laid off and involuntary termination but they aren’t asking any explanations for that. If i select involuntary termination will i get automatically rejected? Or if i chose laid off instead of involuntary termination will the 3rd party doing BGV know from any source?

Any advice is highly appreciated! I can’t lose this opportunity 🙏

Just had final interview

So I just had my final round interview today, last week on Wednesday I had a two hour panel interview and then they called me yesterday (Monday) scheduling me for the final round interview that was for today. At the end of the call today they told me it was between me and one other person and congratulations for making it to the final round and then said I’ll know the decision by the end of the week the latest. They said they wouldn’t send me into the weekend not knowing if I got it or not. I felt like the interviews went well and I feel pretty confident but it’s eating me up inside, has anyone ever been in this situation and if you have did you end up getting the job?

I don't know what they want from me

Every single time I start talking to these recruiters on the phone, I feel like they don't take me seriously as a professional. I do not understand what they want from me. Even the fact that I ride a bicycle causes them to reject me, even though every single company claims they have a cycling scheme. Why do they present this if they refuse to give me a job because I will ride a bicycle from the centre of Bristol to Avonmouth? I successfully did this at my other job for 5 years and nobody complained about it. Lately, I am being rejected exactly because of this. I don't know if I can write here who exactly it is, but I can. Their obsession with cars is just crazy, as if you are not a person with work experience if you are on a bicycle, and cannot work well! What is their problem?!

Or take the requirement to fill out a load of forms and assessments. I do it. I write that I don’t drive. You’d think that’s all they need to know. But no, she calls me today. I'm already starting to hope I might get the job. Then she brings up driving — the exact thing I already put in the application. And suddenly she says that I am not suitable then, because I will not be able to come to the warehouse on call once every 5 weeks. So if I travel for an hour to the warehouse on a bike, that is terrible! But if a car gets stuck somewhere or also travels for an hour, that is okay. Moreover, a bicycle depends less on traffic than a car. What do they want from me? Do I need to start lying?! But they will see what I use to arrive at work, so I don't see any point in that.

What should I possibly do next?

I really got tired of applying for jobs anywhere in the world. In fact I am tired of working for a company for survival and be in constant fear of losing my job again. In India, I am getting requests in naukri, yet I am not fully motivated in job search. Looking at AI progress, what we can really aim for is the question I always have in mind. I have an average education and did an average IT job and yet somehow I got citizenship outside india. Life crashed there after divorce and fell into a financial crisis. I came to India but working for a company just for survival is not interesting. Everyday AI is progressing and also recruitment is getting even more challenging and breaks in my career due to depression, the job seems not an easy walk again for me. Even though it looks desperately needed just because of my survival, eventually I get frustrated in a month or so because of routine life I had to go through. This has happened over the years and it won't be any change even now. Childhood was only forced education and has not developed anything beside formal education. Worst is my bachelors and masters was in computer science and what once I was proud of myself is no more interesting for me. I feel I am too tired for this world. I have zero skills outside IT to try other career options. Though my grandfather was a farmer, I have zero farming experience to continue in that route. In fact I don't have any farming lands. I have seen decent pay scales once which gave me a comfortable life but now I have nothing in my hands. I have no hope for myself and I don't know if this itself is depression. 2026 is an ultimate failure in every direction I am tired and I have no interest even in trying something new. I am dependent on others now and sometimes I do entertain myself about how to end my life. Is this all the end of the road for me?

I got my dream job as a Bilingual Closer, I want to help more people get here

If you're specifically interested in:

⭐ Becoming a Bilingual Sales Closer working for U.S. companies

⭐ Working fully remotely

⭐ Earning $3,000 to $15,000 USD with commissions

⭐ You speak Spanish and have a good conversational English level

⭐ Don't know where to find this type of job or are not getting hired

⭐ You have no prior experience, but have confidence and a positive sales attitude

I achieved this at 26 after a lot of learning and unemployment. It was incredibly difficult, so if this sounds like a dream to you, I'm happy to show you the path that led me here.

Even if you have zero experience, I'm not going to tell you that you can be working tomorrow, because knowledge requires an investment of time, effort, and sometimes money. But I can tell you exactly what job to get first to get the second, and then get hired by the third, what to study, where to look, and what methods to practice. And how to do all of this for free, versus how to do it quickly and have a job in less than 3 months (if you're willing to invest).

I'm not selling anything, I'm just giving you information, but I can tell you what I've done, which companies do hire, what I've studied, invested in, and what things were worthwhile or not. If this is what you needed, happy to help.
