Greetings. I'm not very adept at introductions, but I will try my best at the risk of sounding like I'm writing a formal document. As with a lot of posts here, I am looking for companionship. For those interested in the finer details, I'll have specifics listed below. Be warned, however, that this will most likely be a glorified novel in terms of word count and length. I feel as if expressing myself as such will show who I am in greater depth so you needn't guess as much. Thank you in advance for choosing to view and read my post.
Some basic information:
- 24 years of age
- Eastern Standard Time
- Primarily play on Xbox, but further down the line, I am not opposed to the occasional trip to Switch, PS4 or PC if a game of mutual interest is not crossplay at the time.
- Prefer close connections of 1 to 2 others rather than a large group wherein I barely know anybody and can't really form anything meaningful due to bloat.
- Not super bubbly and jubilant, but not exactly strict and serious, even if my prose superficially belies that claim. As such, I'm not really the type to exhibit high energy, so I wouldn't be a viable candidate if you desire such traits in an individual.
On to games. As previously mentioned, I play on Xbox as it feels like a sort of home, hub or nexus to me since I've been here for over a decade. Leaving it all behind to pursue all of the advantages with a PC doesn't feel worth it to me, so I prefer to play on Xbox if it can be helped. For my "main game," I don't really have one at the moment apart from maybe Genshin Impact, but I have everything 100% there, so not much to do. I'd really like to start/resume an MMO, but those get lonely extremely quickly. I enjoy going for 100% completions in games, so a lot of the games I do play are one-offs that I enjoy, get all of the achievements in then really never look back. That said, I do enjoy various of franchises, such as: Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Minecraft, Terraria, Halo and Destiny. I don't necessarily adhere to genres; like music, I like what I like. I do, however, not really enjoy turn-based combat and games completely centred around PvP. Some games that I've always wanted to get around to but have been putting off are Assassin's Creed, GTA (the older ones from before V, but playing V Online would be fun, too), Red Dead Redemption, Forza, Stardew Valley, FF XIV, ESO, Neverwinter (played a lot on Xbox during 2015 or so. Unsure if there's crossplay, though... or if it's even still active), Danganronpa, Monster Hunter (got the 100% in Wilds at the cost of my sanity. "If you create a loadout..."), ZZZ, Wuthering Waves, various LEGO games like Voyagers, Party!, Brawls and 2k Drive, Borderlands, Tomb Raider, Fallout 76, Outriders, FINAL FANTASY (I know, contradicts what I said about turn-based, but the completionist in me doesn't like seeing it on my list with only 1 achievement.), Morrowind and many, many, many others I can spend an hour typing out. Never really looked into co-op games since I don't actually have any friends to play them with, but I'm open to suggestions. Just note that as I am an achievement hunter, I'm not the type to casually pick up a game to play here and there before dropping it; I want to get the 100% at some point or another. If you share this passion, whether it be Xbox achievements, PlayStation trophies or Steam achievements, that would be very nice to me. I don't play many of the popular games of today except maybe Minecraft, but if you wish to know about any, you need only ask.
On to the part about what a friend means to me and what I seek. Up front, I want someone who genuinely wishes to build a long-lasting friendship a day at a time. I'm not particularly interested in one-off conversations, but if you'd like to just talk about anything, please state your intention to do so; I don't have a problem with it if you're open about it so there aren't expectations for the wrong thing. Casual acquaintances you say hi to once a week for 5 minutes are fine and all, but not what I'm looking for. I want someone who mutually wishes to view each other as people rather than just a name on a screen. What goes on in your life rather than just when you'll be online. Actually taking the time to know you for you as a person, my friend, my good, close friend, not just empty and hollow words to pretend I'm interested to avoid guilt of not wanting an actual friendship that lasts. I want a friendship that lasts and am willing to put in the work. But it's mutual. And simply put, even if we both desire long-term friendship in life, we might have different interests that don't really mesh well. Which is okay. If things aren't working out, that's all that needs to be said in an amiable manner. But to those who do share my interests, I truly do wish to know you a little at a time. I want to care for you specifically on a personal level should we become good friends, not just as one person to another. To actually have conversations. Not everything needs to be super deep, but with sincere intent. To give attention, affection, reassurances, second opinions and just be someone who listens to what you have to say with genuine care from the biggest of deals to the most trivial of matters. I would define myself as more on the selfless side. I make time for people who make time for me. I pause my game to read your text because you took time out of your day to say something to me and I'm not going to intentionally brush that off as nothing. A game can always be paused, but you can't put other people on pause forever. Life comes up, of course, but I'll always try to make time for my actual friend(s). It's not something that I'm expecting to happen overnight, nor should it. Inevitably, there will be days where nothing really happens or conversations that kinda fizzle. I understand that while also knowing that one conversation that didn't result an hours of texting doesn't mean things aren't working out. But through it all, through time spent together just as people who want to spend time playing or talking, I believe that an actual bond of real friendship can form. And that's what I aspire to.
To conclude this extremely long write-up which I hope captures even just a glimpse of my sincerity and willingness to make an effort, I want to thank you all for taking the time to read through it and contemplate my words if you did. My hope is that at least someone out there who may not have a voice loud or strong enough to make a post can see and resonate with this, knowing someone else out there shares in what you similarly covet. If this isn't what you desire but read through it to completion, I'm also thankful for you taking the time to do so. To avoid going on into a never-ending wall of text beyond what this already is, I'll end things here. Thank you all for your time and take care.
