Ok, call me paranoid all you want, but I genuinely think I'm onto something.
Farcade and Dusk are untrustworthy in my eyes, Orwellian, if you will.
From the moment I first saw Dusk in the pilot, I felt conflicted; I knew he was going to be part of the "hero" faction, but something about Farcade and their methods just doesn't sit right for me.
Consider their name for one: "Farcade", the "arcade" part makes sense considering the setting, but the "far" part intrigues me. It could say that their influence and power stretches wide, but it also makes it look like a familiar word. Remove the "r" and you get "Facade".
Hmm, curious...
For the next point, let me bring up the main villain, Syntax, and their colour/shape language. What is immediately apparent is the abundance of Red within Syntax's forces, often symbolised as the color of violence, while the characters within Syntax all share sharp angularity.
Now let us look at Dusk's design. Sharp. Angular. Granted he's mostly white, the color of purity, but he has red eyes, possibly connecting him to Syntax. Plus, you have to consider which character he's most likely based on: Alucard from the Castlevania games. Alucard, despite being the heroes of his respective games is the son of Dracula, a re-occurring villain of Castlevania.
And to end it off we'll look at Farcade's actions itself. Shortly after the pilot intro, Kaboodle says something about Farcade not wanting Kit to "mess up" with Kit responding, "What's the point of doing this if we can't save as many people as possible" implying that the survival of civilians isn't Farcade's top priority. Seems a bit hypocritical, no? You'd think that the faction directly opposing the planet-destroying villains would want to prevent as much collateral as possible, but apparently not.
And, my final, most damming (in my opinion), point of this theory. How does one prevent a planet from being destroyed? Simple, you stop the heroes from winning. But how does one know what each respective hero is doing when they could be anywhere at any time? They go on "recon" to, in other words, "survey" the planet and its surroundings. Farcade is a surveillance state of sorts using "safety" as a means of justifying their ways.
Something is happening within Farcade, something we aught to know about.
It is at this point that I must note that I am not trying to defend or justify Syntax, they are a vile, self-serving bunch trapped in self-delusion.
(Doesn't fit in with the rest of my theory, but I think it's worth adding) Not to mention that I think Farcade and Syntax's endeavors are both doomed to fail. Farcade cannot be everywhere at once, and planets here and there will collapse, whether by natural causes or Syntax's meddling depends. And as for Syntax, even if they do succeed in their plans to (presumably) build their "perfect world". Who's to say that it, too, won't also succumb to rot and entropy.
I'd love to hear what your thoughts on my theory are. I know it's kinda built on coincidences and straw, but I'm proud of it.
