The previous owner ground down stumps from some 2-3ft+ diameter trees and realized that some of them are going to be within the future turn down garage slab.
The stumps were from a previous owner, so nothing left for leverage, but is it going to be a pain in the ass for the concrete guy to remove what is left of them since they have been ground down 10-12”? Will the concrete sub just have to backfill with compacted fill? Will they just have to excavate and chase down what’s left of the roots?
Making sure I communicate and unknowns before they start removing topsoil.

Just curious if anyone uses this approach or has ever tried it. If so, what has been your experience landing jobs from GCs like this?

Greetings Concreters: I have a doozy! I hired a contractor to excavate then pour a 24" deep concrete foundation for a brick columns and a quarter height exterior for a 3 season porch. I returned home from a business trip to this: used only foam insulation and particle board for forms, which then blew out. There is a height differential across the pour of about 6 inches. The proposed remediation is cut the corners, score the concrete surface, add a layer of epoxy binder and then hand mix 4000 psi concrete to a level 1.5" above the highest point. Aside from running the guy off site, does the proposed remediation sound reasonable? If not, then I will just find another contractor to undertake removal and start all over, but I am hoping the fix will work and then we can allow him to get the brick work done and I can move forward with rough framing and window installation and put this behind me.

Any thoughts on this? Home is 16 years old and has a walkout basement with a slab pour as well as ICF poured walls. There is a 2” lip on what I assume is the foundation on the exterior side of my home. The lip has degraded in 5-6 places. I cleaned the deepest one out the best I could and can see my styrofoam exterior pieces for wall. I can stick a piece of wire maybe an inch past the lip. Is this something that can be fixed with a simple concrete injection kit, or am I looking at something serious? It looks like the sliding glass door frame also has some water damage on the bottom edge unfortunately so door will need pulled and replaced. Plus side, the door needs replaced anyhow. The other areas that have degraded are only on the lip from what I can tell. I don’t believe I get a ton of water here, and it’s only wet from me power washing a second story deck. It may get some runoff water from the side hills of the walkout basement though but will need to check with our next rain.

I have a job where I need to remove about 350 feet of sidewalk at a church. I have a bobcat T66 and I’ve never removed that much concrete before, wondering which hydraulic breaker should I rent. Is the 300-350lb from untried rentals gonna be enough? Or will I need to get the the 600lb/900lb?

What would be a fair estimate on this repair job? Thanks in advance!

Is this crack worth worrying about? Should I reinforce across it with metal and concrete anchors?
I got this wall poured a month ago and I had someone come and backfill while I was out of town. I don’t know if they drove to close to the wall with their mini ex or if this kind of hairline crack is normal? Let me know what you guys think

Hello, my front steps have this crack that goes deep. Anyone here able to recommend how to repair without demolition and install? What type of granular fill and grout works best?
