SUPPORT G502 Lightspeed phantom scroll when flicking
Hey guys,
I recently switched to Arch (Wayland) and I've been dealing with a super annoying issue while gaming with my wireless G502 Lightspeed.
I have an in-game action bound to Wheel Up, and almost every time I do a fast flick or lift the mouse to reset its position on the pad, the scroll wheel triggers on its own. And yes, the wheel is locked in tactile/ratchet mode, not free-spin. I used this exact same mouse on Windows and never had this happen once.
When I checked sudo libinput debug-events, I saw that just shaking or lifting the mouse floods the terminal with tiny high-res scroll events (vert 1.88/15.0* and 3.75/30.0*) without my finger even touching the wheel.
What I've tried so far:
- udev hwdb rules: Tried setting
MOUSE_WHEEL_CLICK_ANGLE=15andLIBINPUT_ATTR_SCROLL_WHEEL_HIRES=0.udevadmshowed them applied, butlibinputcompletely ignored them and kept spamming the1.88/15.0*events. - libinput quirks: Added
AttrEventCode=-REL_WHEEL_HI_RESin/etc/libinput/local-overrides.quirks. That killed the1.88spam, but threw a red kernel bug warning inlibinputand made regular scrolling super inconsistent (sometimes scrolling doesn't register at all), so I reverted everything.
Has anyone else dealt with this on a wireless G502 or any other mouse?
