Discussion PVE is insufferable.
People bull rush you off ledges, bull rush you to prevent you from looting and then bull rush you to prevent you from extracting.

THE IDEA
Create a Temporary Ceasefire major map condition. Put it in the rotation with other major map events. Keep the loot super limited: no items beyond blue (rare) quality. Increase the arc presence. You can do your quests and hunt arc, but you can't gain a big power advantage.
THE REASONING
Why this, instead of an always-available PvE mode? Low-risk raiding should be a reprieve; a small treat. Not the standard.
If you remove most of the risk, you remove most of the reward. The danger is the whole point in a game like this.
Without danger, we lose lose the serendipity. You don't need to make friends or find out who people are and what they're up to. You don't have the little moments like accidentally shooting someone and then trying to make it up to them. Or the dilemma of deciding whether to defib a stranger who could be an adversary.
PvE also removes a lot of hard and soft gaming skills. I don't have to mind my aim in order to stay friendly. I don't have to say "Hey I'm friendly, what's up dude." There's no more flashlight friend-or-foe indicator. The sound of a powerful weapon no longer gets my hackles up. I don't need to listen for footsteps.
Lastly, open PvE could wreck the economy. You shouldn't be able to free-farm materials.
Adaptive matchmaking works. If you've earned your way deep into the friendly ranks, you can play all evening without getting shot at. This should suffice for most dads and uncles. But the risk is always there in the back of your mind.
And for those that need a boost now and then, we have a rotating Temporary Ceasefire map condition.

so I made a post in January (link below to original post) about how I was suspended mid-game for a month ending on February 23rd, and I detailed how despite the suspension I was not using hacks, cheats or exploits. I have played countless multiplayer and single player games and have never been banned or used cheats. I am a gamer who is quadriplegic so I use a sip and puff mouth controller called a quadstick that allows me to use a computer not just for gaming but everyday needs. After the suspension I made the first reddit post hoping to get some help and clarity about how I could appeal or why I was suspended. I submitted support tickets and went to discord for help but nothing, so I decided to just take the suspension on the chin and wait it out, finish Hollow Knight and play some Marathon. Yesterday I decided to hop on after my suspension ended and decided to work on the trophy project, I played 3 solo games (all 10 or more minutes in) filled my backpack with leftover loot, ran into only friendlies and exfilled. Woke up this morning to this and appealed but I really have no hope of Embark doing anything to help. I don't have much going for me and I know they're people out there who are probably going through worse but this fucking sucks. After 300+ hours of playing, buying it for 3 others friends to try the game and being excited for the new map and large ARC enemy, I just don't know what to do.
p.s my game name is ClootyBapper, if you think it's because of the name I don't think so I have seen and been called worse in game

I'm one of those friendly pve players some of you apparently miss in the normal mode. But here's the thing... you're not losing players like me because pve exists. You're losing us because we weren't enjoying pvpve to begin with.
I don't enjoy getting killed by other players. Never have. And I especially don't enjoy someone pretending to be friendly, waiting until I turn my back, then getting shot while a pre-teen is telling me to "get gud," calling me trash, or wishing me or my mother terrible things.
And while i hate to say it, the matchmaking makes it worse. If I want to stay in friendly lobbies, I need to behave like a friendly player. Which means not shooting first. Except that puts me at a huge disadvantage when someone decides to betray me. So I'm basically punished for playing the way I actually want to play.
Then add the cheaters. Good grief. They were the proverbial shit on top of my ice cream sundae. It was already frustrating enough without being certain that the guy who just killed me wasn't even playing by the rules. I'll be real here - I don't want to play with them. ever. They are ruining gaming.
So I stopped playing.
Now there's pve (for a week), and I'm back and I'm having a great time. I can explore, fight ARC, collect loot, help other players, and just enjoy what is actually a fantastic game. And if someone is cheating in PvE? Whatever. Maybe they get better loot faster. Maybe they kill a bunch of ARC machines without trying. Doesn't really affect my evening.
The part I don't think some pvpve players are getting: I had already quit the game. pve brought me back.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who genuinely love the tension and unpredictability of pvpve. That's fine! I'm glad you enjoy it! I'm not asking for your mode to go away. And the players that are switching over? Great, they are switching before they get sick of it and quit too. Seriously. If you disagree - you're not one of them, its that easy, but there are a lot of us.
When people complain that pve is taking all the friendly players out of normal mode, I have to wonder... what exactly are you missing? The friendly interactions, or the people who weren't going to shoot you first? as a PVP player you haven't lost the ability to engage in it, **you have lost access to some people who didn't want to participate in it to begin with**.
Because if your enjoyment of pvpve depends on having people like me around to shoot at, that's kind of the whole problem, isn't it? We had an asymmetrical relationship to begin with.
I'm having more fun with ARC Raiders now than I ever did before. But if pve goes away, so do I. I'm not going back to pvpve.
So you're going to lose players like me either way. We can either move to pve and keep enjoying the game, or we can quit playing altogether.

**HARVESTER LOBBY LOL NOT MATRIARCH\*
**edit** I’ve had my stuff gifted back due to unfair gameplay
I just got killed by players in a PVE lobby after killing the queen… multiple people all went down. And yes I checked it was a PvE lobby a million times over before and after, and my teammate who’s new, when fighting even shot at a team we were killing the queen with (misclick) and nothing happened, earlier in the game.
After killing the queen right, I see a raider flair and peaked interest to run over see if I could help or loot a dead body, I see a couple guys, thought nothing of it. Because why would I?
Then they shot me and downed me and my team mate? What the actual …
Am I missing something specialised in the update? For matriarch lobby or did I come across cheaters or a bugged lobby? :/
I had a fully kitted load out and 2 reactors too. Absolutely bummed about this “bug” or whatever it is.
As you can tell from the squads reaction, we knew we were in a PVE lobby, but this happened at the end.
At this point I’m running to the guy downed in front to help.
****UPDATE\\**
Couldn’t find their name on the game so I sent a fr which I will cancel\* and then clicked their profile through requests in Arc.
Their steam has some questionable accusations too. All complaints on their profile 59.
Reported both in game and steam incase. Though we cannot guarantee cheating, as it could be a game UI bug as a lot of people seem to be experiencing this player behaviour in PvE too. Wanted to make this clear too as I don’t want a “witch hunt” on the specific player as such. The image in comments is to show that player damage and was 100% downed by a player, but it’s too fast to see the screen in the video at the end.
Also wanted to say again,
We had triple checked it was PVE we were going into, due to the little good I kit had left as a returning player. I.e auguments etc so we triple checked as I didn’t want to lose it to a PVPVE lobby as I am absolutely dog at player gun fights sometimes, especially as a returning player too.
AND as mentioned above, my teammate who is new to the game, shot some of the other team around us who were helping kill the queen in crossfire whilst shooting the queen. AT the start of the lobby.
This done NO damage and caused no issues. (I’m pretty certain that very team who helped kill the queen, were downed by the same people, the guy on the floor in the clip)
We could see the green shield splashes instead of anything breaking.
This is a genuine PVE selected lobby.
Current suspicion in comments amongst the community is UI Bug or Cheaters.
I’d also like to make it clear I’m aware cheating is an issue no matter what game you play. I just wanted to spread awareness of this right now as a returning player who was looking forward to PvE and not being slimed by a player, when I was trying to have a fun boss fight and teach a new player.
And also for debate or other peoples experiences/ if they’ve had similar in the NEW PVE mode
I do not have any other footage to show prior to starting the game in the menu or before being killed because I had no reason to clip anything. My pre recording clips, clip to 30seconds on medal. I was not streaming on twitch at the time unfortunately either. It’s a case of taking my word for it which i understand some people won’t want to and would rather see it for their own eyes. And that’s valid to feel that way too!

Yes, it should be a separate character, not a toggle.
Just like Tarkov or Path of Exile Solo Self Found. Two modes, two separate stashes and progression.
My modest suggestion:
Right now, PvP players can jump into PvE just to grief people and farm resources. Separate progression fixes both problems.
EDIT: With the addition of a mode like this, you should be able to migrate your current character or create a new one, no need to wipe.

Just saw a video where a guy was demonstrating his game cheats where he stated he pays $120 a month just to freeze people in place and kill them.
Like are you that bad at the game that you have to pay $120 a month to win in a game🤣🤣🤣
What's next you're going to pay somebody else to play it for you 🤣🤣🤣
This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen/heard of
🤡🤡🤡

That feeling when you knock out the racist players.
Seriously though, why has this game turned so toxic recently. Constantly bumping into players who think it's cool to be racist.
Is that what we've become?

One of the most interesting developments since the PvE update isn't the mode itself.
It's watching people slowly realize that the PvE vs PvP war was never the actual issue.
The real divide has always been between normal players and brainrot players.
Most PvE players never hated PvP players. They hated griefers. They hated the guy whose entire gameplay loop was making sure everyone else had less fun. The guy who sees a mechanic and immediately asks, "How can I abuse this?" instead of "How can I enjoy this?"
Likewise, most PvP players weren't the issue either. Most people like competition, risk, and player interaction.
The actual problem has always been the same crowd:
Cheaters
Exploit abusers
RMT farmers
Corner campers with the reaction speed of a house plant and the patience of a tax auditor
People whose entire personality can be summarized as "if it's annoying, I'll do it"
And now we're getting a live demonstration of that reality.
The PvE players who simply wanted a more relaxed experience got their mode.
Great.
But did the "problem players" disappear?
Of course not.
They evolved.
Now you have people running around PvE servers vacuuming loot from under everyone's noses because apparently they require a constant supply of negative attention to survive.
The same players who spent months insisting they loved "player interaction" suddenly discovered that ruining someone's farming route works just as well as ruining their raid.
Who could have predicted this completely unforeseeable outcome?
Then we have the Stella Crow situation.
An amazing number of players suddenly camping Pendola because augmented weapons are apparently the hottest commodity around.
Not because they desperately need them for gameplay.
Not because they're chasing some incredible build.
But because every multiplayer game eventually attracts the same species of player that views the game as a resource extraction operation for RMT.
Again, notice the pattern.
The issue isn't PvP.
The issue isn't PvE.
The issue is the people.
The same people.
Every time.
And while all of this is happening, we're already seeing something else that should concern everyone regardless of which queue they prefer.
The update isn't even that old.
We're only a few days in.
It's a weekend.
And PvPvE is already seeing a very obvious increase in suspicious players, cheaters, wallhack-level awareness, impossible tracking, and all the usual nonsense that magically appears whenever high value loot starts moving around.
Normally you'd expect that to be one of the highest priority issues after a major update.
Instead, the conversation keeps getting dragged back into PvE vs PvP tribalism while the actual health of the game takes hits in real time.
The frustrating part is that every day these problems sit unchecked, normal players get pushed out while the people nobody wants around become a larger percentage of the active population.
That's a recipe that has killed more multiplayer games than balance issues ever have.
And to add a little extra salt to the wound, we're already seeing what looks like preferential treatment for certain voices in the community.
If you have a massive following, your complaints seem to travel at light speed.
If you're AverageJoe472 with 200 hours played and a genuine concern, good luck getting anyone to notice.
That isn't healthy either.
If there are teams available to take care of specific community figures and their concerns, then there should be enough resources dedicated to taking care of the thousands of average players who make up the actual backbone of the game.
Because streamers and influencers are part of the community.
They are not the community.
At the end of the day, the last few days have reinforced something I've believed for a long time:
PvE players are not the enemy.
PvP players are not the enemy.
Most people on both sides just want to log in and enjoy the game.
The real problem has always been the same small collection of cheaters, griefers, exploiters, RMT goblins, and terminal brainrot individuals who migrate toward whatever activity lets them extract the most value while contributing the least.
Hopefully this entire situation helps more people open their eyes.
Because if both normal PvE players and normal PvP players stop blaming each other and start recognizing the actual issue, the community might finally be able to have the conversation that matters.

I know this topic has been discussed a lot already, but now developers have also confirmed they’ve talked about it and that there’s real internal interest.
Personally, I think a walkable Speranza would be a great addition. The atmosphere and world-building deserve more than just menus and cutscenes.
That said, I really hope the fast menu system stays. Quick access to vendors and missions is important, and I wouldn’t want everything to require running around.
A hybrid approach would be ideal: a walkable hub for immersion, with menus still available for fast navigation.

I am a 100% Care Bear player. Haven't died in weeks, maybe months. (see image) Haven't downed a raider in anger... maybe ever?
Many of you think the problem (and thus the need for PvE) is rat behavior. If you think it's "rats" you have misidentified the issue. The issue is assholes. PvE-only won't make change that. It just opens up a world of possibilities for them. Bonus: It will convert many otherwise decent folks into assholes due to the frustration they will experience dealing w/ the unforeseen consequences of this mode.
Now that you've taken away the asshole's chance to express themselves by killing you in a cowardly fashion, they have been granted their ultimate wish: to ruin your experience with impunity.
Get ready to:
*See increased, emboldened loot goblin behavior. Did you just solo that bombadier? What's to stop others from cannibalizing it?
*Be harassed as you move through the map from start to finish. I can think of dozens of ways that people can do this off the top of my head... and I'm not that creative. Think relentless lures, snitch scanners, people yelling slurs, gas grenades, blocking stairways as you're trying to escape an ARC, just general harassment.
*That key room you door blocked/barricaded/trapped to have to yourself? lol, it's now a shared resource. You may even find raiders waiting at the door to participate in the sharing! Don't keep them waiting. You may hurt their feelings. Be sure to make them welcome.
When you say, "but they can do that today". That's true, but today, they do so under the threat of retribution. It's a massive deterrent. It's the only time I act aggressive. I've had people back off or give up cores if I tell them they're about to be greased.
The possibility of PVP was the guard rail. It was the safety belt. Be ready to be thrown out of the car on impact.
I could be wrong, but past experience in other games tells me I'm right.
I accept your downvotes, but at least tell me how or why I'm wrong.

The vast majority of supporters of the mode prior to its implementation seem to have actually hoped for a single player/co-op mode instead of a true PvE lobby.
In hindsight, it seems obvious, putting 30 strangers in an extraction game means the ultimate determination of its fun-factor would be player interactions. Restricting PvP inadvertently makes these interactions much less consequential, resulting in a muted loot-gathering simulator, where other players mostly exist as a nuisance.
Most of us know, the best moments this game produces are spontaneous and player-driven. But what many didn’t realize is the need to seek out friendly raiders, is why you did it in the first place.
Arc raiders is supposed to be a literal apocalypse, pushing players to react like… humans. We are mostly selfish, often violent, with glimmers of honor and integrity that make the whole experience unpredictable. It just serves as another example of the human need to experience lows to cherish the highs. Without them, this apocalypse shooter turns into a largely uneventful grocery trip, surrounded by other shoppers you have no reason to talk to.

He says the game sucks because other cheaters have more cheats than him. Hilarious. The guy's username is irl_weedie on tiktok and he seems live since he reacts to the streaming chat.
I received comments on another post claiming I was lying and it's either an old video or the guy will get banned after a game. He's been playing for hours.

These two guys were toxic. Following me around with bull rush. They were saying some nasty stuff even though I was laughing and trying to at least have fun with it. I knew the public exfil was a death sentence so I decided to make a run for the hatch. I love this game!
