Last week, I posted about IvyPod, an app I made for iPhone that uses haptics, lighting, and resolution tricks to create a very convincing iPod experience, but with Apple Music as its library. My goal in obsessing over the details is to create an illusion that you're actually holding an iPod with a sheet of glass on top, rather than an emulator app that just looks like the UI. Seeing how the community has reacted to 'holding an iPod again' is so great to see, and I've been enjoying incorporating all of the features suggested to me. What would you like to see in IvyPod?

Just wanted to post that the new blue accent appears almost turquoise or like a baby blue on the web player... I wish they extended this to the apps so that it was more easily distinguished from default apps

I’ve been following Apple Music’s Vibe playlist for years and now it’s gone! It shows in Google Search, but when the link opens in the app, it says:

Item not available

the item you've requested is not currently available in your country or region

Last night I recently deleted my Apple Music to try and clear 7 GB of cache that did not get deleted unfortanutely. But hence when I redownloaded the app last night, some songs e.g these three in seperate playlists that I stream on Apple Music, they show as unavailable but then when I search it on Apple Music, it shows up and plays like normal. So I delete the song from the playlists and even add them to new and seperate playlists (the songs aren’t in my library), and I readd them and it still shows some of those as unavailable.

What am I doing wrong and what do I fix?

I have a 3-month offer for Apple Music on my iOS device, but I can’t access the same offer on my Android or Windows devices, even though I’m using the same Apple ID. The reason I want to claim it on another device is that Apple doesn’t accept my card on iOS.

Wonder if this is just me; in any case, I am posting this bug here as it may help people that are experiencing this same problem and are going insane trying to figure out why their Music App is crashing (as I was!)

Steps:

1. Open Music and right-click a playlist > Open in New Window.

2. Open a second (or third) playlist in another new window.

3. Quit with ⌘Q.

Result: Music crashes on quit (EXC_BAD_ACCESS, null pointer read at 0x30, in the exit cleanup: terminate > exit > a few frames inside Music). When it crashes, my custom column order for playlists resets to the default the next time I open Music.

What I tested:

- No extra windows open: quits cleanly, columns saved.

- One extra playlist window open: quits cleanly, columns saved.

- Two or more playlist windows open: crashes every time I tried it.

Other details:

- macOS 27.2, Music 1.7.2. I was seeing the same crash signature earlier on macOS 27.0.1 (Music 1.7) (it was driving me crazy), but I only worked out the window pattern on 27.2.

- Force quitting doesn't crash, but then any new column arrangement is not saved

- Clearing caches and using a new empty library didn't help before I found this.

- I've reported it to Apple through the Apple Music feedback form.

As the title suggests, I’d love to be able to pin one of the radio stations (specifically KEXP) to the home page of Apple Music. I’m not sure if there’s a technical reason one can’t, and Apple doesn’t seem like they “take feature requests”, so here I am posting here. Perhaps some others agree with me and we can start a movement / revolution

Backstory: had IPod Nano, loved it, it died, I was sad. Have 1tb iPhone so I figured might as well make the unfortunate switch.
Tried integrating downloaded (DL) library with my digital Apple library (use AM on Xbox so had playlists made there), content not syncing well, diagnose it with searching, Turn on “Sync Cloud Library.” Switch it on on my phone and computer, from then I let it sync and “marinate” for a few hours.
Come to find out my Xbox playlists content are completely empty except for songs that I have owned mp3 copies of songs, and I’m missing about 300 songs of my DL library, great.
Diagnose some more, switch from OG iTunes to AM proper app, music still missing but looks pretty. Fix OG playlists, look around in settings and buttons, find “update cloud library,” hit it, sit and wait. Playlists are missing songs despite the files being RIGHT THERE, diagnose more, “turn off sync cloud library, reboot devices, turn back on,” do that, stuff seems to be working better, let it sit a bit more.
Some songs missing are now recognized, good, playlists seem stable, good, update library, songs DISAPPEAR once again. Turn more stuff off then on, sign out and sign in, try everything at my disposal from drag and drop, to audacity conversions, for just my songs and playlists to lock the fuck in and stay on my phone, but no. The system just hates me for whatever reason. I’m still fixing this hellhole of a library if it’s the last thing I do on this thing but I swear I’m gonna break a third tooth from this, I just want my music to be there!

Just upgraded my MAC to iOS 27.2 and immediately went to check out what was new in AM. Were any of the meaningful changes that people have been requesting implemented? Other than changing the color of stars to yellow and changing the toolbar icon color to white, I can't see anything substantial that has been upgraded. What am I missing?

I’ve noticed a really annoying issue with Apple Music on my iPhone.
When I enable Crossfade and set the audio quality to Lossless, songs start playing immediately, but they don’t seem to play in Lossless quality right away.
The Lossless badge often takes several seconds to appear, sometimes even over a minute into the song.
What’s even more noticeable is that the audio briefly stutters or cuts out for a split second exactly when the Lossless badge appears, almost as if Apple Music is switching audio formats mid-song.
However, when I switch to Hi-Res Lossless (which disables Crossfade), songs start playing in Lossless or Hi-Res Lossless immediately, without any delay or audio interruption.
So it seems like Crossfade might be interfering with how Apple Music handles Lossless playback.
Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, has anyone found a fix that allows both Crossfade and Lossless to work properly?
I’d really like to keep Crossfade enabled without having to deal with delayed Lossless playback and those annoying audio glitches.

Whoever gets to add this feature first between the two of them will gain a subscriber.
