Weekly Thread πŸš€ r/AndroidGaming's Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread: 10/25/26

Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πŸ‘Ύ

Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games you’ve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what you’ve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.

Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, you’re more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!

And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Best lightweight Android games to play in the office?

Initially I shortlisted Stardew valley but am kinda skeptical spending money on an Android game although I would spend 5k on a PS5 disc without raising any questions.

Should not be multiplayer cus there would be multiple interruptions ( like one min I am chilling but manager can call me in a meeting randomly ) .

Average session should be less ( like I don't want to be locked in an one hour story session with savepoints)

Play Store Link πŸ”— I made a party game where you guess entries from top-100 lists.

Hey everyone! I just released my first game,Β 100 Categories, on Android.

The idea is simple: you get a ranked top-100 list, likeΒ Box Office Top Lifetime GrossesΒ orΒ Most Popular Anime, and you try to name what's on it.

The points you score equal the rank, soΒ Attack on TitanΒ at #1 on the anime list gives you just 1 point, but some deep cut at #87 gives you 87. Everyone knows the top answers, but the real points are lower down the list.

Modes:

  • Classic: teams take turns guessing over several rounds. Great for parties.
  • Blitz: 60 seconds per team to name as many as you can, and 3 wrong guesses ends your turn.
  • Daily Top 10: a new solo puzzle every day. Name the top 10 with only 5 strikes, and keep your streak going.

Categories cover football, NBA, music, movies, anime, geography, social media and more, and new lists are added regularly.

I'd really love feedback, and tell me which categories you'd want added!

I love Grindcraft 2 and looking for something that is super close to it, not looking for idle/clicker games in general, just something with similar aesthetics and stuff.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Undead Surge is finally out! A one-thumb zombie roguelite where every chapter breaks one rule

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Undead Surge is out on Google Play!

It's a horde survival roguelite you play with one thumb. You move, your rifle aims and fires by itself, and every level-up you pick one of three cards. Two spell schools fuse into something bigger (Supernova, Blizzard, Plasma Storm...).

- 13 chapters and every one breaks one rule: ice floors, trains that clear the tracks (and you), carousels that carry everyone, crystals that split your shots

- Bosses with their own moves, a King at the end of every run

- 5 rifle forms, each with an evolution

- Weekly challenge with a leaderboard, Boss Rush, Endless and more

- 10-minute runs, good for a break

- Free to play

- No forced ads, no banners. Ads are only optional videos for bonus gold, 5 a day max, never during a run

- No energy timers

- Plays offline

- Big text option, colour-blind presets, reduce motion, controller support

I wanted a survivors game I could actually play with one hand, without ads popping up or timers stopping me. I really hope you enjoy it, and I'll be reading every comment here. Bugs, too hard, too easy, anything.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] A fun, simple, low-stress sports game?

I'm thinking maybe a golf game or some peaceful fishing, maybe shooting penalties in soccer. An xp system or some sort of stakes/progression would be nice too!

Thanks in advance.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Games with decent difficulty and replayability. Minimal active input

As in games that don't require live control for movement and such. I like taking my time to make choices so everything I do is consequential. I really enjoy the gameplay loop of roguelites like Slay the Spire and Chaos Zero Nightmare's StS mode, as well as the intensity of something like Darkest Dungeon and the 3DS Fire Emblem games. Is there anything out there that captures both the strategic intensity and replayability of those games?

No emulation please (I already have options there πŸ˜…). Does not have to be card based/deckbuilding. Good art direction is a big plus πŸ‘

Thanks!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Looking for casual portrait roguelike rpg

I really enjoy GnollHack bringing qol and more casual balancing to nethack, but I'm looking for something that goes beyond just one dungeon. My dream game is I guess Daggerfall in portrait mode.

Not looking for survivor-like or card games. I've played plenty of them and know they're good. My current mood is just something else.

I've really tried to like shattered pixel dungeon but it's just not for me compared to GnollHack. I often feel like there's not enough to do in early game to keep me going.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Do you prefer ports or would you rather run the game with an emulator?

Honestly it's been wild looking through 2026 as an Android gamer with recent translation layers and environments. I've always dreamed of running Skyrim on an Android phone and now I can just boot up Game Hub and run it, never having to wait for Bethesda to come out with a port.

A lot of times a direct Android port is less than the original game and not architected correctly. In my honest opinion the only true difference between a port and what Game Hub does is the true implementation of controls but that's just my opinion.

For me as long as I can get the game, it doesn't matter which version it is. If there's a port out there that's pretty damn good, I'll play that over dealing with an emulator. Generally I find myself lately just installing the games from x86 onto my Android devices.

Help/Support πŸ™‹ Hollow Knight Stagway Bug. *badumpsh*

I'm playing Hollow Knight on a Pixel 11 and I'm having an issue when trying to use the Stagway.

After choosing a destination, the game soft-locks itself. I can hear music, and if I try to push buttons, it gives the sound and animation like I'm still selecting something on the menu. But I can't move or even go to the pause menu. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a fix for it? If it matters, I'm also using a GameSir G8 Galileo, but it still does the same thing on touchscreen.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] After heaps of community feedback (thank you!) I've made major updates to my retro game app, WTF WHY <3 Would love for everyone to give it a go and let me know how they find it after so many updates and fixes! And such a huge thank you to everyone - you've been amazing.

WTF WHY is a little passion project of mine where I've recreated 6 of my favourite retro games - but I also enjoy random chaos, so I've thrown that into each game as well haha

Some of the major changes include far more balance in the games for playability and enjoyment, some fun new content in the games like the gardener, froggy needs to collect ingredients for his mojitos because...who cares why, fixed ad serving issues so they're far and few between (I apologise that some of you got hit with ads way more frequently than you should have!!! That was an honest mistake on my part), fixed the regions in which the app is available (Available everywhere now, hooray!), annnnddd a couple bug fixes.

Would love it if y'all would have a play, let me know what you think!!

P.S Made a dorky little video for the app too haha

I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm supposed to be doing with this. Bits and pieces are legible to me but I can't put enough together to actually do anything with it.

I haven't been able to find any sort of community or guide out there, no idea if its just that small or what.

Gameplay πŸ“Ί Borderlands the pre-sequel via droid deck running on z fold 8

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm using a Galaxy Z Fold 8 and using Droid Deck to play Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. It's running at a pretty consistent 60 frames per second, but I went ahead and purchased Lossless Scaling from Steam, which helps in case there's a few frame dips. I lowered the resolution to 720p and medium settings. I think it looks pretty good. Droid Deck is certainly advancing pretty fast.

Hardware βš™οΈ Tablet for "gaming" for my mom - Candy Crash and the likes

My dad wants to buy a tablet to my mom, to play. The games she plays are Candy Crash and clones of it so nothing really serious. He wants to gift ger a tablet so the screen is bigger than the phone.

Any recommendation of a reasonable priced tablet my mom can get?

Thanks.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Question on GPS based game wishes

Hi Comunity,
with the first steps made to a gps based game, i am curious to know what you would feel is good content to have fun.
NOT to get you addicted or pushing you to play, but what is enjoyable / relaxing to play.

A major breaking point for me in development is creating a bit of content you can play in the evenings on the couch. Especially how others feel about it.

Throwing in my thoughts for some feedback:
-Merge game with stuff you gathered
-little duels / battles with the achieved equip / pets
-just scroll and compare?
-Sort and adjust (like pokemonGo stat analyzing of found pokemons?)
-features you really enjoy in games

I would love to get a feeling what other people would enjoy, keeping in mind to integrate into some game where you walk, aquire better pets and gather stuff to improve.

Thanks in advance on every comment.
