So I recently bought this 3DS, super clean, and I'm not sure if I want to mod it or not, if I should look for another one that's maybe cheaper or a different model to mod?

What are you guys' opinions cause I'm conflicted.

Thanks!

Here are some screenshots of the app as its current state. Thank you all for your ideas and suggestions!

(Also, it was quite an interesting experience reading all your anti-vibecoding comments. My respects)

I’ll keep working on this until I have a good enough version for public release. Hopefully it will be soon so we all can chat from our 3DS while we listen to our favorite radio stations ❤️

Recently finished designing and 3D printing this cool Pokedex shell and grip for me 3DS. It all just slips snuggly over the Old 3DS XL with no modifications. I did omit the stylus access though because I don't personally use the built-in storage slot.

Shout out to Akuma Forge on Makerworld for the visual inspiration for the grips.

Hi everyone. I was thinking of buying a new nintendo 3ds ll/xl on ebay and stumbled upon this one. The caption says it’s region free and was wondering what this meant. Can someone explain this to me before I buy one?

One of my favorite custom 3DS builds so far. Inspired by Unit-01 from Neon Genesis Evangelion, with the classic purple, green, and yellow color scheme, glow-in-the-dark controls and accents, and a silver NERV insignia on the lid.

This one has already found a new home, but I thought some fellow Eva fans might appreciate it.

Included a few shots of how it looks in the dark, too.

I'm playing it on my phone, and I can only imagine how great the experience must be on a real 3DS.

I still want to add a 3DS XL, a New 3DS, a New 2DS XL, and the Majora's Mask Edition New 3DS XL to my collection :)

Screen visibility is shit but this is now my third Streetpass in 2026

Social experiment... take your 3ds with you everywhere this Halloween weekend and see if we can get some street pass hits!! Hopefully this takes off, we'll see. Happy, safe Halloween!

Now last Christmas I got a Modded 3DS where it had homebrew and stuff.
There was also a few predownloaded games (like SM3DL or Head raiders).

Yes, it was modded, but that’s not what makes it charming!

Not only do I think so, the 3DS has over 70 million units sold WORLDWIDE!
It is also 6th place in most popular Nintendo Console!

Learning how to defeat Mr. Dream (unfortunately there is no Mike Tyson) in Virtual Console Punch Out!! NES is really satisfying

I have this 2ds here that I was wondering if I should mod or not I already have some what of a library of games I like but wanted to see your guys thoughts about it

Honestly spent more time playing it then going out doing things on vacation 😅. Third pic was taken by the 3DS, took so long to get right lol

i’ve had this since i was 11 (23 now) and barley noticed this line a couple weeks ago. i don’t remember dropping it or anything.

Hi everyone! I made a game based on What We Do in the Shadows for Halloween.
It works on DS/3DS with the download, or you can play it free here:

I unfortunately updated my game this week and although only playing locally, the loading time is extended, and between every switch of “camera” I get a white screen for at least 15-30 seconds between them and races. Is there a way for this to go down to 2 seconds or gone completely like I had it before I updated? I’m really regretting trying to have “the latest software” now. Please help! Thank you!

I have an OG 3ds xl, a wedge 2ds, a dsi xl, and a R36s. I can take 2 maximum

uh oh

I got this New 3ds XL with this issue (check vid)

**Everything listed below is disconnected when I took the vid

I disconnected basically everything

- Touch Digitizer

- D-Pad

- Thumb Stick

- C-Stick

- Shoulder Buttons

I did one by one at first then disconnected them all and its still doing the same issue

Anyone got this problem before and fixed it?

I saw this https://itch.io/jam/3dsjam game jam someone else made while browsing for homebrew and thought it was a pretty good idea for the (very rare) developers of homebrew to check out each others' games and create new games. It's completely empty though... Please consider joining if you make / or are considering making games!
