Jacob Fowler after being selected by the Habs at the 2023 NHL Draft: “As a competitor, I don’t want it to be easy. I want the bright lights, I want the big stage. I think pressure is a privilege. The more pressure there is, I think it just means that you just got to go out and perform your best.”

St. Louis Blues coach Jim Montgomery last night after Jacob Fowler’s Habs shutout win: “He was incredible tonight. Several spectacular second saves. I didn’t think we shot it at him, I thought he made the saves…We should’ve (scored), but Fowler was too hard to beat tonight.”

Is it worth visiting Montreal for a day just for a Habs game?

• Upvotes

My girlfriend and I have our first trip to Canada coming up in November. Our original plan was to spend 3 days in Toronto before heading to a wedding, with plans to catch the Avalanche vs. Maple Leafs game. However, I noticed the Wild play in Montreal that same night.

I’m eagerly exploring the option of taking an early train from Toronto to Montreal that morning, spending the afternoon exploring the city, catching the Habs game that night, and staying overnight before heading back to Toronto.
I’m really looking to experience a true, iconic Canadian hockey atmosphere. I’ve been to games at Lenovo Center in Raleigh and T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, but I’m curious whether the Bell Centre is worth the extra travel and expense for that experience.

Would love to hear from those who’ve been to both arenas or have experienced a game at the Bell Centre. Is it worth making the trip?

Merch Habs fan from the Philippines here — jersey collection is growing!

Hello everyone!

I started supporting the Habs back in 2023. I'm a European football fan, and when I tried getting into the MLS, that's where I found out about hockey. Went down a rabbit hole of NHL history, goal horns, arenas, and other stuff, and that's where I got hooked on the Canadiens! Watching or listening to games in the morning (sometimes even during uni classes) has become a routine for me now.

I've come to learn that merchandise isn't cheap (not to mention overseas shipping), especially jerseys, and I'm really glad to have these four. The rightmost one was my very first, with the RR 2.0 coming from Tricolore Sports. The third one is my most recent pickup, and it was also my first eBay purchase.

Just thought I'd share them with you all! Here's hoping I can add a few more when I get the chance! :)

Florian Xhekaj tonight on Jacob Fowler: “It’s insane to watch from the bench. I’m standing up every two seconds, he’s making a highlight-reel save. He’s the most poised goalie I’ve ever seen in the net. He’s got swagger, he’s going for the empty-netter. He’s unreal. It’s pretty cool to watch.”
