Discussion Jean Grey might not have genuinely intended to kill Peter Parker.
I don’t believe that the MCU’s Jean Grey has any genuine intention to kill or harm Spider-Man. In fact,
I suspect she might harbor a complex mix of feelings toward Peter Parker—a blend of hostility and interest,
perhaps even a touch of affinity.
Since she is capable of possessing the minds of others, yet found herself unable to do so with Spider-Man,
it’s possible that her curiosity about Peter began right then and there. Consider this: even though she had the opportunity to eliminate Spider-Man and infiltrate Damage Control,
she chose instead to sneak into Peter Parker’s home. She delved into his private life, uncovered his secret identity,
read his personal letters,
and continued to gather information about him—
all while lingering nearby and constantly getting in his way.
In fact, she even tried to persuade Spider-Man, repeatedly engaging him in conversation to share her own goals and win him over to her side. Later, after discovering Peter’s true identity and the circumstances of his life, she realized that he shared a similar plight to her own. Even when she was possessed by the Hand and engaged in combat, she went so far as to tell Peter that they were in the same boat—and warned him that one should never trust humans too easily. In this way,
*Brand New Day* centers on the connection and bond between Peter and Jean—it focuses squarely on their relationship. It is quite possible that,
following the events involving the X-Men, Jean may grow even closer to Peter. Given that she is the only person who has understood both Peter Parker and his identity as
Spider-Man for the past four years,
I truly hope that none of this is merely a coincidence.

Discussion In this scene, "different" and "dangerous" aren't the same for Peter but they are for Jean
And a common criticism for Jean that I feel will also be brought up here is that she shouldn't assume the known superhero Spider-man is trying to catch her to turn her in as a test subject for DoDC experiments because the crimes she committed in the movie that makes her arrest justified should be in her mind as the reasons.
"Peter is obviously talking about you specifically being dangerous, Jean."
I don't think Jean herself will deny this. The thing is, though, Spider-man still works for the extremely dangerous organization hunting down innocents for simply being different. Jean hearing these words from someone like him only makes him look like a brainwashed individual, who thinks that people are rightfully killed because they're different, which is what makes them dangerous. Add in the fact that Jean thinks Peter is like her, giving the DoDC a representative for this horrible belief.
Likely going into headcanon territory, but the way it's implied how the sisters mom abandoned them for their powers, I'm not gonna be surprised if they grew up in an environment where people who're considered 'different' are treated below human, even if said people didn't do anything at all. They grew up believing that 'different' were automatically dangerous, and they knew it as an unfairly cruel lie. This lie, like what she grew up hearing for most of her life, is what Spider-man told her, reminding her of how people can be monsters.
So yeah, that's a neat detail.

Fanfic Fanfic Recommendations
Hey PB&J'ers!
I wanted to recommend two fics I have been enjoying a lot and share them with y'all!
1st: The Embrace of a Spider by PandorasCage
- Cute short fic with a lot of fluff and adorableness. If you are allergic to overly long fics, this one is short and sweet.
2nd: Never Again and Always by Darjink
- I didn't think I would like this fic. I usually am allergic to anything with the X-Men in it. I like my fics with just Peter and Jean. But this story is really sweet. Peter working as a hero to the mutant community and bringing young mutants to the mansion is such a cool dynamic. He is like the arachnid part of the Underground Railroad for people with the X-Gene. Jean, Kurt, and Bobby being the heads of the Spidey fan club for the younger kids and making misshapen Spidey plushies for them is so fucking cute. I highly recommend this adorable fic.
Hugs!

This is chapter 5, which I made with a lot of love for you all. I hope you read it. There's already interaction between Peter and Phoenix here; the next chapter will be with Peter and Jean, a light one, because I want to develop it slowly.

Discussion I think there might be some subtle feelings between Peter Parker and Jean Grey.
Peter Parker and Jean Grey share certain commonalities; both possess extraordinary abilities and powers, yet they lead lives in which finding happiness is a daunting challenge. Following the death of his mentor, Tony Stark, Peter’s secret identity was exposed to the entire world. Branded as the murderer of Mysterio, he has been forced to live as an outcast, reviled by many as a "monster." Similarly, Jean Grey was abandoned by her own mother the moment her mutant powers manifested. In *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, Peter Parker is forgotten by those he holds most dear—Aunt May, his ex-girlfriend MJ, and his best friend Ned—leaving him completely alone. Jean Grey’s experience mirrors this; she loses her sister to the Department of Damage Control, never to see her again. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), by setting aside a potential meeting between Scott Summers and Logan (Wolverine), the narrative effectively bestows this theme of "solitude" upon Peter Parker. In this sense, Peter assumes the role that would traditionally belong to Wolverine—serving as the one who truly understands Jean Grey on an emotional level. I believe there is a subtle, underlying connection—a complex, nuanced sentiment—between the two.

Fanfic SpiderPhoenix Saga : Movie Blueprint - 5 : Avengers vs X-Men .
AO3 : https://archiveofourown.org/works/95198191
This is not a story about a physical war. It’s an ideological war between Peter Parker and Jean’ Grey's mindsets.
And yes this is a full-length, movie-format script—so grab some chips, get comfortable, and enjoy the read.
And I believe that if Marvel or Sony adapted this script—with full studio polish, strong direction, top-tier VFX, and the right cast—it legitimately has the foundation to cross $1 billion at the box office.
If anyone from Marvel or Sony wants to use or adapt this script, reach out to me on Instagram (link is in my Reddit profile). I'm ready to giveaway the script.

Fanfic Soooo Minecraft + SpiderPhoenix = Peak fanfiction?
This is simply a concept I thought up while at work because I've been in a Minecraft phase recently. Jean has been living in Peter's apartment for a few weeks after the Roosevelt Island Incident and she is BORED. Peter doesn't want her wandering New York City (for valid reasons she hates to admit) and Peter just returned to Spider-manning (is that a word, it's a word now.) So what does she do? She hops on Peter's computer and finds Minecraft on his desktop. Jean having been on the run for her life and a mother who despised video games (new Jean mom lore) has no idea what to expect but the moment she logs in for the first time, she's addicted.
This is most certainly gonna be a crackfic with meta humor, lots of references to Minecraft YouTubers and other media while also leaning into girlfailure Jean with Peter having to teach her how to properly play the game. Every title referencing an og Minecraft song as Jean goes on a journey to beat the Ender Dragon and tame 20 dogs.
I'm currently in early developments of the first chapter so don't expect this to come out for atleast like a week. I'm also working on a more serious fic and using this as kind of an outlet for my silliness.
Also, SpiderPhoenix MC server when?? /hj
If you have any ideas, suggestions or shenanigans you want Jean, Peter and whoever else they invite to the MC server, let me know :)

Discussion The most intriguing encounter
Since *Avengers: Secret Wars* serves as the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga, I’m looking forward to seeing Peter Parker
(Tom Holland) reunite with Jean Grey and watching their relationship develop further.
But what excites me most is the prospect of Tobey Maguire’s
and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men crossing
paths with Tom Holland’s version once again—
I can’t wait to see the three Spider-Men together again! It’s possible that Tobey and Andrew might even end up on the same team as the MCU’s Peter. I’m also curious to see how Jean would react to encountering a different version of Peter Parker.
It would be quite amusing if Tobey and Andrew were to ask Tom,
"Is this your new girlfriend? You two make a great couple!"

Discussion I believe the relationship between Peter Parker and Jean Grey is worth exploring further.
In this iteration—exclusive to the MCU—a profound bond and connection have developed between Spider-Man and Jean Grey. While the two characters had virtually no interaction in the original comic books, the fact that Jean made her debut within the Spider-Man series in the MCU is both fresh and surprising. The MCU has opted to set aside the traditional relationship between Wolverine and Jean, choosing instead to pair Jean Elaine Grey with Peter Benjamin Parker (Spider-Man). According to Destin, Jean wasn’t included simply because she is an X-Man; rather, she was introduced to serve as a mirror to Peter Parker— highlighting the commonalities in their respective circumstances. Do you think their relationship will continue to deepen moving forward? Please keep the discussion focused strictly on the MCU, setting aside the Marvel comics source material.
I will put my trust in Marvel and Sony, and I believe that Kevin Feige, Destin, and Tom will make wise decisions.
