USA Today posted a video interview with the owner of Art of Play, as another development in the bizarre story that unfolded this weekend.

For those unaware, on Saturday Kelly Clarkson visited this store in Brooklyn and tweeted afterwards that the employee looked at her as if she can’t afford it and offered to show her something else. She said if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, check out Art of Play.

The store clapped back saying the bird wasn’t for sale and used Kelly’s lyrics. Kelly responded with a photo of the price tag (installed on the wall next to the bird), and gave more details, including that the salesperson gave her an “elevator eye” look and said in a condescending tone, yes it’s for sale but it’s $15K.

The store clapped back again with a clarification (backpedal), that yes they told Kelly she could buy Molly’s “twin” for $15K or a different toy for $2K. They were pretty snarky about it.

Now today this interview comes out.

Let’s discuss! 🍿
